Seriously. What is your max amount you'd pay for EAP?

But but but...it'll chime at you when the stoplight turns green! That's worth at least $0.50. EDIT: Wait, that's probably FSD...so, yea...$0.

21 Model 3 does not see variable speedlimit signs

I agree. So why use visual data at all if all it's going to do is override it. And then ignore over half the speed limit signs all together... Let me decide when to increase and decrease the speed in the car. I hate when I'm on I-25 (75mph), and it decides the speed limit is 45mph and then...

21 Model 3 does not see variable speedlimit signs

My 2017MS/MCU1/FSD acknowledges about 10% of the variable signs on I25. And then once it does it holds that speed for a mile and then switches back to mapped speeds. Useless.

    Bring back EAP (to USA)

I'm guessing it'll be exactly the same software as FSD Beta but without auto steer on city streets. And maybe a couple other useless features as well.
  5. dbldwn02

    Bring back EAP (to USA)

If they're bringing back EAP, it makes me think FSD take rate has crashed drastically. Probably due to all the price increases.

Pin out for HSD/Ethernet "Fakra" Cable (2017 MS/MCU1/FSD/2020.48)

I tried the factory mode on my MCU1 AP3 system last year but it wouldn't work...locked down. Might work on older cars though.

Wiki FSD’s Earliest Adopters Still Waiting

To each their own. I hardly use it plus I assume they'll eventually admit it's required once no SS is needed to get FSD.

I know it is. Just refuse to pay for it.

How many will look into the F-150 Lightning?

Pretty sure they'll make drive-throughs. You know, like gas stations have.
  10. dbldwn02

    2021.24.28 Rolling out to MCU1/FSD MS/X

I'm wondering how Tesla will figure out how to push firmware you don't want, if they don't have a cell service to use. If you keep your 3g car off wifi, they really couldn't do much, huh?

Will not charge with Level 2 charging

The wall connector isn't his issue. It's the onboard charger. That warranty expires 4 years after purchase and they cost about $2300-3000 to replace. $500 if you DIY.
  12. dbldwn02

How many will look into the F-150 Lightning?

"A special towing-optimized electric Silverado variant arriving later in the production run will be rated to tow a whopping 20,000 pounds" -Motortrend I guess 20k isn't a lot of towing. Yes your 400 mile range will get cut drastically. But it's also only $20 to "fill the tank" at $0.10/kwh...
  13. dbldwn02

How many will look into the F-150 Lightning?

If the 400 mile range Silverado can tow 8k for 200 miles, that's all I will need. And as long as you're not towing a parachute, you'll probably get better than 200. Will it work for everyone?...definitely not. But I don't care about everyone. Just me. 😎 Couple the lay-down back seats...

    Limited AC charging

Sorry...meant to say. "Not sure how many amps per board"
  15. dbldwn02

    Limited AC charging

My gen3, May 2017, MS charger has 3 boards in it. I don't know how many amps but it's only 48amps for sure.

Pin out for HSD/Ethernet "Fakra" Cable (2017 MS/MCU1/FSD/2020.48)

From another user..."KyleDay" Then once you have it, remove the glove box and look at your APE computer behind it. Remove it's white Ethernet cable and connect your new cable to it (this is the Ethernet cable going to your MCU). Then, plug the Ethernet cable into your laptop and set your...

Pin out for HSD/Ethernet "Fakra" Cable (2017 MS/MCU1/FSD/2020.48)

You can't use the port under the MCU. You have to connect to the CABLE that plugs into the AP computer. But, I'll tell you it's probably not worth trying. You can request status and a couple other things, but you can't reflash firmware or do anything worth all the trouble.
  18. dbldwn02

Will not charge with Level 2 charging

Ooof...warranty or out of pocket? I was quoted $3k for a gen3 48amp charger. Mine was only charging at 24amps at all L2 stations. I bought one online and replaced it myself for less than $400.
  19. dbldwn02

    Limited AC charging

Could be a bad onboard charger or a bad electrical connection with your house wiring. If voltage drops too much, the charger senses that and then limits the amperage to keep the voltage around 235-245 (208v if you're charging at a commercial facility) Try a different L2 charger and report back...

How many will look into the F-150 Lightning?

EPA Ratings are unladen and those are a pretty big deal when diesel is $6/gallon. Lol.

    2017 Model X drawing 40A on a 30A circuit

Few things. Use the right adapter...30 amp (NEMA 10-30) Tesla branded adapter. Better yet...don't use your dryer outlet and get a 50 amp circuit installed. Don't pull 30 amps on a 30 amp circuit. You're risking a fire... especially when using an extension cord. Since your car is a 2017, You...

Replacing Onboard Charger Gen3 2017 MS75D...My Experience (With Photos)

Yes...you need to be in service mode before you swap the charger. It's the easiest way. Otherwise you're left with a brick on boot. It's definitely your charger that's shot. Supercharging bypasses pretty much the whole onboard charger. I didn't break into my old one yet but I watched a guy on...

I still use it sometimes. My local talk radio guys are pretty funny. To each their own. Those that paid for MCU2 will probably be told "you got to enjoy it for years before everyone else...no refund for you". Just my opinion but I'm going to stand by that, because it's Telsa. You remember...

Yup I'm a hardcore hold-out...It's $2160 here (Tax and FM radio). I'm just a hold out...Eventually they'll admit that it's not coming to MCU1 and then they'll have to upgrade us. I assume this will happen when FSD Beta goes wide release (aka...no safety score/invite required. For me the...

I'm tired of reading about all the 98,99,100 scores, especially since these numbers haven't mattered for half a year now. Who out there has the lowest score?! That's way more interesting. LOL. I'll start....mine is a 0 since I'm not allowed to have a score, even though I paid for FSD over 5...

Can't wait to get my new Ioniq5 down to Pueblo, CO for a 350kW charging sesh. (700-800V battery). Should be interesting to see if I can hit 300kW! Might be time for a trip to the Sand Dunes.

JD Power did a good explanation of the HDA2. The best part about the article was that they didn't mention or compare to autopilot one time. So far, I like it. It works on and off the highway even though it's advertised as limited access highways only. The stop and go is super smooth. It...

So, just from this thread alone, it sounds like 98% would buy a different car next time. You just got your numbers reversed... 😅 To add to our "scientific data", I have a reservation for a Silverado EV. It's two years away, but I'll probably get one before CT ever drops.

    Opinions Wanted: Upgrade to MCU2

That is one thing I miss a little, being stuck with my MCU1. The ability to not have to repeat myself 4-6 times to get it to call my mom! Still not worth the $2200 to upgrade, IMO.

Salvage cars: Tesla permanently disabling SC from supercharger

Just curious what's everyone's thought on hail damage vs a customer replacing their own onboard charger? Onboard charger replacement...can still supercharge. Hail damage...way too dangerous?

Car will only charge at 28 amp max

If voltage drops too low during charging, it indicates a bad/loose/hot connection somewhere in the circuit. (Breaker panel, on board charger, charge port, cables, etc...) It auto adjusts the amperage to avoid a fire. My onboard charger half failed and was charging 24 amps. No voltage drop. Had...
