Why not just get an EVSE with a J-plug?? I bought one from Clipper Creek. Don't Teslas still come with the adapter? I almost bought the Tesla EVSE since I thought I would only buy Teslas in the future. But if you deal with Tesla service long enough, your mind might change.

I haven't received an update for my Model S in over a year. My wife has received 2 updates over that time (she drives a Ford EV) and has ordered a hardware update that cost not $2,000, but only $300 with free installation. Does THAT answer your question?

Because a regional service manager told me so. He wouldn't say why, but we certainly can conjecture a few obvious reasons. (e.g. the situation with the eMMC is so fragile they don't want to brick any cars, or MCU1 can just no longer run the updates, my Nav system barely functions)

Not sure what you mean here. The fact that cars with MCU1 are not being updated is a choice Tesla made.

My fav "addition" to the new app is the window(close) icons that appear when you have windows open. They are there, you can click them, ... but they don't work. So, the writers of the app are into taunting Tesla owners??

Just took a look. I have good news and bad news, ... The bad news is not much has changed since I was last here. The good news is there is a full crew, busy doing stuff. The site must have some issues beyond typical installations.

I think the mistake they made was promising FSD would be delivered with the hardware I had when I bought my car. They can't undo that now, all Tesla can do is make good on their obligation, or buy me out.

Then what causes the delays seen in MCU1/AP3 cars? An example being, if a car juts out into an intersection my car will react to that 50 yards or more down the road. If this isn't MCU related, then what is it? And why did Tesla stop updating our cars?? In about 3 months it's going to be a year!!

Tesla installed the AP3 hardware ( I had AP2 ) but the problem is MCU1 is just not going to support FSD. The web browser and the user manual doesn't work at all anymore. The map loading is very slow. Isn't FSD going to need some MCU powered support to operate safely?

The hardware that Tesla installed in my new Model S, in 2017, was junk when it was installed. This was a decision Tesla made. (even the MCU2 "upgrade" is certainly not state-of-the-art). Tesla must be held accountable for the decisions they make. BTW, my iPhone 6S Plus (cir. 2015) still works...

It's obvious that FSD will NOT work properly with MCU1/HW3. Don't be "afraid", demand what you paid for.

Just use the builtin format tool. View on Windows using Open with > Windows Media Player. Works great. Format the same as with MCU2

I used that SC last summer. I was in a bind, needed to leave town but my Autopilot system died. They gave me a loaner while they sent someone to Austin to pick up the part I needed and had the car back to me in a day. They were great, and I was a walk-in, had no appointment.
