    Real Matte Carbon Fiber Dash

Almost did the same. And I agree, that looks odd to me. Especially in gloss. I can't imagine having the dash in gloss and the sides under the windows in gloss, that must reflect like crazy.

The North American Y has a different door trim. Which is unfortunate as you can't modify it to use these door inlays which would look good.

Any other owners second guess if their next car should be another Tesla?

Nope, heck, they didn't even allow it as an option. They claimed something about German laws which did not allow idling. Pretty sure BMW didn't have it either. That GV70 EV looks sweet.

Any other owners second guess if their next car should be another Tesla?

Knock on wood, so far so good with my MYLR. Only thing I noticed, unfortunately more than 24 hours after delivery so Telsa claimed they couldn't do anything, was a deep scratch on the front bumper which I'm pretty sure wasn't there when I picked it up but when I had to bring it back same day to...

Okay, some questions after driving for a few days...

I'm using this one from AbstractOcean. Pricey, but so far works well, you need a Magsafe case that has a strong magnet on the back. https://abstractocean.com/collections/all-model-3/products/foldaway-phone-holder-with-magsafe?variant=40381515530413 I assume they just source it from the usual...

Okay, some questions after driving for a few days...

You’ve probably never used Android…it allows you to literally position it anywhere on the screen. Even if no other icons are near it sort of thing. On top of that, the widgets are more expansive and significantly better. The keyboard is way, way more intuitive and easy to use (I now understand...

    Buy Tesla or TSLA?

Yeah, that's always wonderful news...higher property taxes coming...yay!

    Real Matte Carbon Fiber Dash

Final pics of the dashboard and steering wheel and a gratuitous pic of my new blue calipers, freshly painted. Steering wheel had a couple issues, namely both joy button inserts had stripped screws. One of them I literally had to cut the plastic on. As usual, Aroham/Greecar offered their...

Pic of your Model Y.......RIGHT NOW!

Okay, last pics, I swear...think I'm done after painting the calipers today and installing the new steering wheel yesterday.

Power off (via Safety) doesn’t keep power off?

Yes but as I understood it you can disconnect the high voltage battery loop to do the same thing? Issue is I couldn’t get the connector to disconnect. Procedure in this video at 6:20. Just couldn’t figure out how to pull out the darn connector. Having said that for the steering wheel seems...

Power off (via Safety) doesn’t keep power off?

Have a 2022 Model y which has the new Lithium battery. I believe, technically, one needs to disconnect the high voltage loop (front left when staring into frunk) and then disconnect the Lithium battery. All instructions say to "pull the red clip up" on the high voltage loop and then push out...

Power off (via Safety) doesn’t keep power off?

Guess I will just disconnect the main battery negative terminal…though need to figure out how to remove the massive Hepa filter plastic casing.

Power off (via Safety) doesn’t keep power off?

So about to replace my steering wheel and many folks have recommended just powering off the Model Y via the Safety screen. Have done that, dat in the car without touching anything. But the car just automatically turns itself back on once I open the door. I thought the car was only supposed to...

    Carbon Fiber Center Console

Anyone find a decent looking "real" carbon fiber center console off of ebay or ali? Picked one up from ebay, which claimed to be "real" carbon fiber, but looks more like a vinyl wrap to me.

Where to buy Tesla model Y license plate mount in Canada?

Can you link to it? The cost of these license plate holders is obscene. The one from Etsy was $10+$20 shipping and is literally two screws and a couple wing nuts. Put it on but it isn’t the greatest.

Where to buy Tesla model Y license plate mount in Canada?

Just seeing this as I purchased the same one. Is this the case?

    Real Matte Carbon Fiber Dash

My corners are good. Though notice this, in the sun/light there seems to be streaks within the carbon fiber. Aroham gave me the same "hand made so not perfect and here's $15 to buy some Meguair's polish/wax" thing. I will try a polish but these seem to be deeper than surface. Don't...

Sent a message to Aroham/Greecar via WhatsApp will see what they say about the dash. Shipped it was way cheaper than RPM but still expected better quality.

    Wipers stutter?

The car is brand new, just had the vehicle detailed a week ago. If this is a dirty windshield issue (that looks perfectly clean to the eye), that’s need to me after 20+ years of driving.
  23. P

    Wipers stutter?

So just picked up my y a few weeks ago. First day in the rain and the wipers stutter across the windshield. Assume that’s not normal?

Move from Audi Q7 to Model Y or alternative?

OT, but when you say you can use Waze by pairing BlueTooth Audio, doesn't that mean all you hear through the speakers is Waze?
  25. P

Move from Audi Q7 to Model Y or alternative?

I just got my MYLR a few weeks ago. Can’t comment on previous Ys, but again my 2018 Q5 is a significantly more comfortable ride. Would put it at say a 7 or 8 out of 10 on how the suspension handles road imperfections. The Y? Maybe a 5 to 6? In terms of fun to drive? The Y an 8 or 9, the Q5…a 5...

Move from Audi Q7 to Model Y or alternative?

Can’t comment on Apple CarPlay. But I miss Android Auto, though really just the Waze integration. The Tesla navigation and traffic rerouting is woeful in comparison. Have been doing some side by side runs and Waze is miles ahead, pardon the pun.

    Real Matte Carbon Fiber Dash

Also another one that is much more difficult to see on the passenger side and almost impossible to photograph (almost looks fine in the photo below), but when you look at it at various angles can see hair line scratches. Not sure how perfect these are meant to be, the one that bugs me most is...
  28. P

    Real Matte Carbon Fiber Dash

Mine isn't near as bad, but also have some obvious and not so obvious imperfections (still waiting on my steering wheel to come): Same one, different angle: Also: To me that's less about it being "hand made" vs either sloppy work or possibly a bad piece of carbon fiber used. I haven't...

Well, that's concerning. Should be receiving mine early next week, along with a steering wheel.

    Thinking about Rims!

    I went with Braelin BR14s..
  31. P

Move from Audi Q7 to Model Y or alternative?

I have a Q5 and a MYLR. The Q5 is much more of a refined and fairly soft drive, the Q7 would take it up another notch or three. The MYLR you feel every bump in comparison (even when I had 19 stock on), but it’s much more a joy to drive, not even close. It’s even a sportier drive than my older...

    Best Aggressive Wheel Offsets?

I guess not an aggressive offset (just 45s), but more aggressive/wide wheel. Firestone Firehawk Indy 500s 285/35R20 on Braelin BR14 20x10 wheels. The wider tire just gives a much more masculine look, certainly vs the stock 19’s which I will use the rims for winter. Excuse the crappy picture I...

Mud flaps that don’t have issues in winter?

For others who are struggling with installing the EVMudFlaps on the rear tires, they made and sent me this video insisting the rivets would go in as they do it daily: I had already tried exactly that. Maybe the car needs to be on a hoist for better leverage, but again, all I managed to do...

Pic of your Model Y.......RIGHT NOW!

Yeah, and I just always wonder if MYP owners thinks I’d just be trying to fake I have that model if I went red. Ha.
  35. P

Mud flaps that don’t have issues in winter?

That’s exactly what I had to do. On the other side I had the exact same issue with the exact same hole (closest to the trim, rear tires). The other rivet went in fine on the rear and all rivets for the front. Bought these from Lowes , they were a bit too thin but once I screwed in the plastic...

Pic of your Model Y.......RIGHT NOW!

Okay, new wheels and rubber put on this morning...no rubbing on the tires from what I can tell (285/35/R20 on Braelin BR14 20x10). Thinking of red or dark blue calipers next…

Mud flaps that don’t have issues in winter?

Another hour wasted tonight, still no way the rear plug goes in and hesitant to try the others at this point. Emailed EV and basically they said keep trying. So far this purchase has been a disaster. The clip is simply a bit too thick for the rear hole at least on my car. Stock ones go in and...

Mud flaps that don’t have issues in winter?

Another hour wasted tonight, still no way the rear plug goes in and hesitant to try the others at this point. Emailed EV and basically they said keep trying. They also suggested I bent the bracket pushing too hard (umm well yeah) and to use a hook to pull it back which I did: Just. Won’t. Go...

Mud flaps that don’t have issues in winter?

Burnt my fingers warmed them up so much. Even tried waking them when the my were half in.
  40. P

Mud flaps that don’t have issues in winter?

Over an hour later and I give up. Warmed them up as described. Used the flat side of a hammer, screw driver, chisel, mallet, tried turning them as per the video. All I have to show for it is an index finger with completely mangled skin. Wow that was frustrating. Even without the mudflap the...

Mud flaps that don’t have issues in winter?

So started with one of the rears…wth have been trying for 20 minutes and can’t get the plug closest to the outer fender in for the life of me . Actually looks like the existing hole is too close to the plastic trim.
  42. P

Mud flaps that don’t have issues in winter?

Just got them in, interesting, the front ones are a bit wider at the bottom, but aren't as long as the stock ones? About an inch shorter.

285's or 295's for MYP at front and back/square set up

What do you mean you can't align the rear to spec? Going with 285's on a 10" wheel, 45 offset, which would stick out substantially less if you did get a 35 or 38 offset + 10.5. When you say "they can't align to spec", do you mean your tire shop or Tesla?
  46. P

    Real Matte Carbon Fiber Dash

So should be getting my dash and wheel hopefully later this week. Just confirming a couple things: 1. For the dash, to take out the existing ones you need to knock out the caps from inside? I.e., place the blunt object into the upper dash and push/pop out the caps vs pulling on them with a...

Yeah, have seen that one, but would need to remove the mount and tire every time you open the trunk unless I'm missing something?
