2021 Refresh: Model S (and X?) Changes to 12v System

I tested four of my AC inverters. They all shut down at about 15.2 volts. Car at rest (but "on") in my garage is 15.57 volts.

2021 Refresh: Model S (and X?) Changes to 12v System

This will be a problem with AC voltage inverters. Most of the "12v" ones will shut down above 15v. You'll need a 10 or 20 amp DC-DC buck inverter.

What I am saying is that drug companies do a good job of sending around reps to convince doctors that their new expensive meds are much better than the cheaper old meds even though this is not usually the case. Doctors are susceptible to misleading advertising just like everyone else. Pharma...

Puerto Rico wants to tax people for Solar generation

Same for California. Until recently anyone could drill a well anywhere and draw as much water as they wanted. Farmers loved this since they could afford to drill big deep wells. Since this led, predictably, to a drastically lowered water table (primarily in the central valley), they are now...

Good resource. Oregon Rainwater harvesting is legal, but rainwater can only be collected from systems on rooftop surfaces. This begs the question... What about farm ponds? They collect rainwater from the surrounding surface, not rooftops.

Climate Change / Global Warming Discussion

I have seen numerous studies which show that solar panels reduce water evaporation from underlying land and generally improve growing conditions for crops. This seems to be because of shading, absorption of photons to generate electricity and radiation of excess heat back to the sky...

National Health Insurance (Medicare for all) would fix a lot of things. Free university education would jump start innovation and avoid burdening students with onerous debt.

    Elon Musk

Our medical innovation is largely confined to things that can be monetized to increase profits. And these innovations are often of dubious value to patients. As far as innovation in other areas, I think the rest of the world is doing better.
