Looking to speak to people whose deliveries are still 'paused' pending software updates.

If a law in Germany was broken there will be a court case and a consequence in Germany to determine guilt. As there isn't no law has been broken. They could also separately have a case under UK law (although we have adopted EU laws they would be enforced by UK courts independently) but as far as...

Spec changes in 18 inch M3 Aeros?

Yes, the alloy is now a slightly different shape, changed at the same time as the new Aero covers. I couldn't tell you the part numbers though. If you are buying a set of 4 it's not going to matter.

Looking to speak to people whose deliveries are still 'paused' pending software updates.

No EU laws apply in the UK anymore, you may have seen some comments about it in the press over the last few years. As far as I know this issue did not result in a suspension or cancellation of Tesla's certificate of compliance. The issue was down to interpretation of the regulations and Tesla...

UK 2022 Model 3 Long Range Waiting room

Have you updated the spec of the car in that time, or is anyone else involved (lease company) ? I would suggest talking to Tesla as from the table you have the same spec as me and others that are getting our cars sooner than you. If you changed colour more recently that would explain it.

Random delay when charging - New 2022 charge point regs now in force

To reduce cost and CO2, both of which are things that the national grid has responsibility to optimise.

    Insurance

I'm replacing my existing 2019 LR Model 3 with a new 2022 LR Model 3 this week, Churchill are paying me back £6 for the change. Insurance prices make very little sense.

Random delay when charging - New 2022 charge point regs now in force

I'm not really sure why you would want to have spare capacity at the peak demand, surely that would just be always wasted capacity. We actually export more electricity than we import, in May we exported 3837GWH and imported 1119GWH. The annual total electricity consumer in the UK is now about...

Random delay when charging - New 2022 charge point regs now in force

I don't think they are 'struggling', they just want to have measures in place to allow them to avoid using more expense and carbon intensive sources of electricity, and while prices are high consumers are more willing to try this type of scheme. As I found out during the Octopus trial, my houses...

As you said, for the next few years 'cheap' cars will be manual.

2 EV Household - what else you got?

I got my current (soon to be former) Model 3 in August 2019, by January 2020 wife had written off her ICE and got a 40KWH Leaf. My eldest is now learning to drive, the Tesla was out of the question and we felt it was best for him to learn in a manual, so there's now an aged Renault Clio on the...

Random delay when charging - New 2022 charge point regs now in force

I think we are all very influenced by how Octopus Go works, but I would suggest that its outdated and may not last in its current form. If you look at cost and co2 intensity there often isn't any real difference between 00:30 -04:30 and other times. I expect we will see DRS become the norm...

Messed around by Octopus for 3 years - advice welcome

Is there any reason why couldn't they install a smart meter at your previous property other than just sending someone to do it. I wouldn't get hung up on the name of the credit.

Wiki UK and Ireland Supercharger Site News

My opinion, the aim is to be 'open' to a sufficient degree that governments provide opportunities to allow the network to grow at the same pace as other networks. If it's expensive and inconvenient to other brands and they choose to use an alternative network then that's just fine, it would seem...

But not Southbound which was the message I was reply to before you offered your 2p.

    Road Trip Checks

Still busy and still rubbish amenities, I would always try and make it to Tebay Southbound if at all possible.

    Battery to charge the battery

Unfortunately anything small enough to go in the boot isn't going to give you anything more than a few miles. There are some devices that in an ememrgency might get you 10 miles to the nearest charger, but I suspect nothing meaningful to increase your range.
  17. GRiLLA

    Road Trip Checks

I really wouldn't attempt to charge at Gretna unless absolutely necessary, only 2 pairs of v1 Superchargers means it's highly likely to be a disappointing experience with a poor services attached. Drive on to Tebay if you can.
  18. GRiLLA

    Road Trip Checks

Depends on starting charge and exactly where in Manchester, but should be able to make Dundee or Perth without stopping comfortably. Still the car will tell you.
  19. GRiLLA

    Road Trip Checks

That's really not far off any beaten tracks and there are plenty of superchargers on your route, just get in and drive. I would pack some midge cream.

Two more Gridserve Hubs, increasingly frustrating that these don't appear in the car.

The thing I thought I’d like the most about my Model 3 is the thing I like the least

Forgiven, if you could respond to some emails while you are in there that would be great. Anyway, this concept of 'dodgy software' is rather weird. Software is a machine that takes inputs and produces outputs, it's not got human attributes, it's not going to be 'dodgy' or going to have bad days...

The thing I thought I’d like the most about my Model 3 is the thing I like the least

I've not noticed any differences to auto-lane change for at least a couple of years. It took me a while to become familiar with the size of gap you need to have before you can use it, and when to apply pressure to the wheel for the change to be allowed, certainly more than any day long trial...

Late 2021 MIC Model 3s Have poor/faulty air conditioning fans from factory?

This is a useful video that answered some things I didn't quite understand So it would sound to me that either the bleed vent isn't operating, or there's some broader disruption to the flow out of the wave vent that means it doesn't behave in the way intended.

    Octopus Go tariff renewal

The point is that the Go rate is fixed for a year, the standard rate isn't but is riding along at the price cap for the UK. The prediction is that the price cap will go from 28p to somewhere near 42p from 1st October. Octopus have tried to anticipate that in the Go daytime rate. Go's daytime...

Late 2021 MIC Model 3s Have poor/faulty air conditioning fans from factory?

Would it not make more sense to avoid talking about direction of fans, as that's not what controls the direction of airflow, the fan doesn't move. The model 3 air vent has two airstreams that meet, one coming our horizontally, the other vertically, as these two intercept the resulting stream is...

The thing I thought I’d like the most about my Model 3 is the thing I like the least

In the US, not here in the UK or Europe. It's really how the US environment of low regulation works, companies like Tesla can do what they want until the regulator (which is quasi-political) decides they need to do something. There are dozens of investigations happening into different cars...

    [UK] 2022.16.x

I don't think we've really identified anything useful to determine how new updates roll out across the fleet, deployments start and stop, branches happen, new revisions come out. There are multiple variants of car specifications, those with and without FSD, owners can choose between early and...

    Price hike

TBH I would say that Tesla's service model is very like Apple's. Heavily proceedurised, as long as you follow the rules then it's all slick, but falling outside the policies means you'll end up simply without service. I'm not sure if I would call either a high quality service like BMW, Mercedes...

Cost for Supercharging Increased ? Where to find prices?

He's talking about charging a non-Tesla, something that recently opened in the UK. If you are in SoCal then you don't have this part of the app as no US chargers re open to other brands of car.

The thing I thought I’d like the most about my Model 3 is the thing I like the least

I am an 'other driver' and there are others in this thread already that agree we aren't having issues that are being described. Still, not of interest to you, enjoy your day.
  34. GRiLLA

The thing I thought I’d like the most about my Model 3 is the thing I like the least

I guess that's a no then. I understand, you have no interest in determining the cause of the issues you are experiencing despite other Tesla drivers not experiencing the same symptoms, fair enough. Why do you keep posting about it?

The thing I thought I’d like the most about my Model 3 is the thing I like the least

Is this your experience using TACC on a two way road in the UK then? Brakes for every truck going the other way?

Cracked Windscreen - Long delay to fix - options?

It would seem odd for the constraint on production to really be glass and not batteries or semi-conductors. It's never been mentioned. Surely the other constraints in the industry should mean that the glass factories are well below normal output.
  37. GRiLLA

The thing I thought I’d like the most about my Model 3 is the thing I like the least

I've no idea, but we were talking about AutoPilot which is only suitable for use on "controlled access highways" which means Motorways in the UK. Is this your experience when using TACC on a regular two way road in the UK?

The thing I thought I’d like the most about my Model 3 is the thing I like the least

So you are complaining about missing features that are only missing because you refuse to purchase them, with other cars you either need to buy a certain grade of car or add as an accessory. e.g. a base 3 series BMW doesn't include lane keeping, the base Kia eNiro 2 doesn't have it. So your...

The thing I thought I’d like the most about my Model 3 is the thing I like the least

You could buy EAP or FSD and then not have this, it's generally not a free option on other makes.
  41. GRiLLA

    Price hike

Definitely, my depreciation over three years has been £300/month, add £30/month more for insurance. The salary sacrifice through my employer would have costed my twice that monthly. Clearly it's always going to be more expensive as lease companies that don't make profit tend to not last very long.

It's pretty filthy at the moment, seems little point washing it when it's going for trade in soon. Normally wash it every 2 weeks. Who said anything about motorway bridges ? I was giving a list as requested of how a drivers actions could create what people call 'Phantom Breaking'. There used to be an issue with bridges, I had it once in 2019 I think on the M25, but it's not been a thing for a long time. It does astound me...

The thing I thought I’d like the most about my Model 3 is the thing I like the least

    1. too much speed 2. too short follow distance 3. using it on inappropriate roads with parked cars, pedestrians, cyclists etc. 4. there was a perfectly good reason to brake, just the driver didn't see it
  47. GRiLLA

The thing I thought I’d like the most about my Model 3 is the thing I like the least

Never had an experience like the OP, but perhaps I've also not tried to drive at 56mph close to a lorry in order to save 50p. Aren't all the other systems variants of Intel MobileEye, rather than being built by manufacturers. We have some variant of that on our Leaf as Pro Pilot, it's a...
