You are smarter than me... I foolishly gave both of my fob rings to Tesla with my 2016 MX trade-in not knowing they didn't provide them anymore. :confused: On the bright side, I don't really need a fob anymore with the phone app.

For those that have taken delivery of your Model X, did your fobs come with the little loop thingy that lets you attach it to a key ring? Ours didn't come with one.

Sounds risky, I would find a way to take a quick flight mid-trip to pick up your car... lest it is another year before you get it. My guess is they will give your car to someone else if you put it on hold.

I used it for a while, but all it does is prompt you to press on the brake rather than swipe the screen... it doesn't really save a step and made the whole process more cumbersome for me. I turned it off.

Ha, ha, mine did too! I was looking in the wrong place, I didn't know they moved it to the glovebox. In my 2018 Model 3, it's in the console.

Hmm, mine is fresh out of the Fremont factory (May build date) and I don't think it has the swivel. I only had a few minutes with it before I dropped off to get PPF, so I may have missed it, but the button where it should be (as shown in the Twitter video) said, "inactive".

Interesting, I also picked up yesterday and mine has no swivel screen. Is yours a Plaid? My delivery advisor said they were only going into Plaid editions? Also, wondering what your VIN is so we can determine when the swivel screens went into production.

If it's any consolation, we drove our 2016 Model X 74,000 miles without a single rock chip in the windshield. And we drove in winter conditions to Tahoe and on gravel roads many times.

I didn't know you could PPF the front windshield? The detailer I use always wants to tint my front windshield, but besides being illegal in CA, I want the best possible night vision upfront.

Model X was delivered today after 459 days. The fit and finish was great. No swivel screen :( No photos yet, it's at the detailer getting full PPF. I updated it in the spreadsheet. :)

Indeed you are correct, I found three highly rated installers that will do the same job with the same product in the 4-5K range. It's definitely worth it to shop around!

Well, I thought people were exaggerating when they described a hellish delivery process of canceled delivery dates and rude customer service, but now that I am experiencing it, I understand. This is my third delivery of a Tesla and the other two deliveries were not perfect, but acceptable good...

I don't think it's inflation since I just found another installer who quoted me $5,000 instead of $9,000. Sometimes inflation is used as an excuse for extortion. We need to go no further than oil companies and their record profits for evidence of that :)

Tesla delivery is driving me nuts right now. The delivery date has changed four times, the delivery location twice, six different people have contacted me all with different answers and there is no way to contact them back, and my trade-in valuation has not been updated so I have no idea what...

How do you determine the build date from the VIN?

Has the price of PPF gone up?!?! I just had a local installer quote me $12,000 for XPEL Stealth and $9,000 for XPEL Ultimate plus for my Model X. I paid around $5,000 in 2016. At these prices, I might just go without PPF. :confused:

VIN received on 5/1, first delivery date was 5/3 then that one was canceled the day before and moved to 5/6, today we learned that delivery date was canceled and changed to 5/8. Things seem a bit chaotic in Tesla Land.

Got my VIN today!!! Delivery in 3 days in Fremont. After all that waiting three days is super fast... I'm not sure if I can get off work and drive 4 hours to Fremont, secure finances and get insurance that fast. Wait, wait, wait, wait... GOOOOO!

5-Seater. Thanks for your graciousness, I'm sure none of this will matter to us once we get our delivery. And, who knows, maybe the later deliveries will be better made and/or have a few more features. (Like the motorized center screen mount and updated headlights)

Hmmm, I don't see any 5/7 seaters on the tracking sheet anymore... just 6 seaters. They show up on the summary page, but not on the detailed order tracking sheet. Maybe someone enabled a filter?
