Monterey and Santa Clara county Ca must still have 3G or whatever as my car still displays LTE on 2021.40.6 and I am staying off that disaster of V11 for as long as it takes

I'd agree in general but not in this case, my warranty will expire by time vs milage by a long shot. Tesla has a history of front end part issues across various models and this one is well documented on very young cars. Hitting the issue inside warranty vs out in this case is those folks drove...

Tesla has a lot of service-side config magic, many features of the car are configured remotely like boost mode, pedestrian speaker (if you add one it won't work reliably until enabled), CCS charging (plus the newer hardware charger board) etc. No new firmware needed

FWIW I still have V10 and still have LTE even in the AT&T weak-zone where we are on Monterey peninsula . Who knows how long it will last but just got back from a 1200+ mile trip in not-so-high tech (ha ha sarcasm) 2017 car with Apple CarPlay. Used Waze (nice!) for navigation the whole time...

Should be - V10 at least even allows you to keep connected to hotspot while driving which may allow me to avoid V11 longer

'Critical' has little to do with it - the touch screen UI was already less safe than real buttons for things people may do frequently during a drive (heated seats on/off, defrost on/off) They have made it more dangerous and just because it's harder to do now doesn't mean people won't still want...
