Yes, without a transformer it looks unlikely to be done by Thursday. Xcel Energy still has a lot to do. There is very little work done on connection at the power pole also. The Tesla crew looks complete. All the parking lot is clean, new stripes painted, and all pedestals are complete.

Spoke to crew working today (Sunday), and found out the following schedule : Monday - scheduled to have transformer landed and installed by Xcel Energy. Wednesday June 22 - hope to be finished Thursday June 23 - penciled in for commissioning by Tesla.

I might also add that this project removed almost none of the parking surface. They installed the Tesla pylons behind an existing curb and dug trenches behind the curb. The only concrete removed was around the 4 cabinets. So the repaving part of the project should be minimal. It will be...

Spoke to the construction guys again. No transformer on site yet, but they believe they have a firm date from Xcel Energy to install one. Still expect to be done in 1 1/2 weeks from now, around June 17. Activation date depends on Tesla. They have “no idea” where they are going next.

Things seem on schedule for the hoped June 20 completion. No transformer or transformer pad yet.

Of note, this building is significantly larger than the size originally specified in the alcohol permit. It’s now almost 11,000 feet which suggests a travel center and specifically includes a quick service restaurant.

From what I’m hearing, there will be a supercharger there if Tesla follows through on their end. Construction of the Toot N Totem starts in Q4 . I’m sure we will see a separate TDLR approval for the superchargers when we get closer to construcation.

Other comments I heard: 12 spaces v3 250 kw, BUT Xcel Energy is only able to supply 80% of the total demand so in the event that 12 cars arrive simultaneously drawing 250kW, only 200kW will be available per car. If 8 cars arrive all asking for 250kW, they will get 250 kw. Crew just arrived...

The Buc-ee's at I-40 and Airport Blvd is not just a rumor, it is definitely happening. Honestly either location would be a great place for a supercharger. In my 3 year crystal ball, both places will offer competitive supercharging, and I may need to use my Tesla CCS adapter at the Buc-ee's.

Another quick check today shows no construction activity, no digging, no utility flags, and no materials on site. If a July finish date is expected, should see something starting soon.

Ditto Ughh. This jives with the 7012 Zenith construction schedule being late 2022. By the time Lubbock gets any superchargers, Amarillo will have at least 16 spots. IMO if Toot N Totem doesn’t start construction until Q4 2022, they won’t have a place to build superchargers until late Q2 or Q3...

I stopped by the Toot N Totem at I40 and Lakeside this afternoon to see if any construction was happening. No digging, utility flags, or pallets of materials were on site. I’ll check back periodically to get an idea about when this will be online.

Nothing on the building permit side. Found this filing on the rumored 7012 Zenith site, that fits with the construction of a Travel Center there. This does not sound imminent, since the area is just dirt right now.

BREAKING NEWS: City of Lubbock has a filing for a new permit at 1801 Crickets this week. Unfortunately, it is so new that they haven't filled in any details on exactly WHAT it is. It could be a new sewer pipe for all I can tell. The value is listed as $100,000.

There is also a rumored new Amarillo supercharger at the new Toot n Totum travel center at I40 and Loop 335 , so this all may be making sense now.
