    Invisible War

It's very rich of you to post about this after YOU began this by clicking "Disagree" on HUNDREDS of my posts. Why don't you also post post your OWN activity log where you have clicked "Disagree" on hundreds of my posts. It seems you like to "Disagree" with other people but don't like other...

What's the expert's opinion on how to handle a hydroplaning Model S AWD at highway speeds?

I wish there was some way to automate this...

What's the expert's opinion on how to handle a hydroplaning Model S AWD at highway speeds?

Could you confirm that the system is designed such that if the car starts slipping and sliding, the software will disable regen (as it probably should)? I guess if you are driving through crazy torrential rain and snow/ice conditions, is it best to turn off regen?

    Poor little fella

With a resume like that, that guy should run for President. :p

What's the expert's opinion on how to handle a hydroplaning Model S AWD at highway speeds?

I was just looking for best practices because I recently saw a video of a Model 3 hydroplaning so wanted to commit a set of actions to memory. You can;t always avoid this situation based on the water volume and saturation of the road. Seems the best thing to do is to reduce acceleration to...

What's the expert's opinion on how to handle a hydroplaning Model S AWD at highway speeds?

Just thought I'd ask this to see what you all have to say now that cold weather, rain, fallen leaves along with snow and ice will be coming our way the next few months. What's the expert opinion/best practice on how best to handle a hydroplaning Model S AWD at highway speeds? I'm thinking the...

Model S needs a major visual overhaul, and Plaid announcement means it's not happening [Speculation]

Thanks for posting this. The two photos you posted represent 70 years of very small incremental changes with the 911 and look how they didn't screw up the perfect design of the 911. Similarly they should change as little as possible with the Model S exterior design but just BRING BACK THE...

Model S needs a major visual overhaul, and Plaid announcement means it's not happening [Speculation]

It's because you happen to be in a Service Center area with decent service. But they have no national standards for service centers. Look how the loaner policy changes so drastically from region to region. Those of us who are stuck in regions with poor service centers -- and more importantly...

    Painting Model S Fender

Also only drop off your car at a place where they work on high end Porsches and other premium German cars. You want a place that is meticulous about their work.

Model S needs a major visual overhaul, and Plaid announcement means it's not happening [Speculation]

Oh please. The Model S is an iconic design and is one of the best car designs ever. I wish people would stop with this nonsense of a complete exterior redesign of the Model S. The shape of the Model S is clean, elegant, modern, and timeless. I especially love what a sleeper the Model S design...

    Cross Traffic Alert

Absolutely, It is impossible without cross traffic radar or cameras located in each corner of the vehicle (radar is the way to go). The rear camera view angle isn't sufficient for cross traffic detection. Especially if you are backing out at an angle. People still manage but really any time...

    Audio

That's interesting but like I said, I'm really happy with the upgraded sound system in our Model S. I whine about other audio issues like USB music not resuming when I get back in the car and Spotify custom playlists playing the same songs over and over again, but the sound quality is not...

    Audio

I highly encourage you to listen to a lossless high resolution audio track in your car and see if you still feel the same. I love the UHFS in our car and I feel it does a VERY decent job. Probably as good as or better than the Premium Audio upgrade in a previous high end Mercedes car we used to...

Vinegar smell inside in the morning

When did you last service your AC? There is a desiccant bag that prevents moisture buildup that may cause odors. This is the first thing that came to my mind especially when you said the smell goes away.

Real life experience with Xcelerate warranty?

So glad you are offering this service. This makes the process of buying a used Tesla much less stressful. Do you offer any sort of PPI process to "certify" a used car someone may want to buy with your warranty to protect yourself and the buyer of the used car? I assume after someone buys your...

    Painting Model S Fender

If you go the $600 route, make sure they guarantee in writing that there will be absolutely no over-spray anywhere else. As long as they cover up everything as they should and don't cut corners, this should not be a problem.

Phantom breaking getting worse on 2020.36.3.1

My biggest concern with phantom breaking is that someone behind me is going to think I was break checking them and retaliate. I've stopped using Autopilot in busy traffic when there are people following me too close. I also wish they would let you set a speed 10mph over the limit so you can...

    Text Message Replies don’t work

Text message replies have been so sporadic for me. I wonder if it has something to do with the fact that when I'm home, my phone is paired to a Bluetooth phone system so when I get in the car, the Bluetooth does not connect automatically and gets in some weird state?

    P100D's Produced?

You best bet is to go on TeslaFi and look at the total number of vehicles and get the percentage of P100D cars in their database. Then apply that percentage to all Model S vehicles produced.
  20. P

    S or 3?

You need to have a chat with yourself and convince yourself to drive both cars and then ask yourself which car you prefer. I personally prefer the Model S over the Model 3.

Anyone use a Uniden R3 in their Model S (mounting/power options)

Could you post a photo of what it looks like? Did you tap into power from the microphone area?
  22. P

Anyone use a Uniden R3 in their Model S (mounting/power options)

For the R3 and R7 they do have this remote mute system. If I can find a place to install the actual radar detector some place out of sight it would almost get me to what I want where nothing is viable..... Wish the radar detector's antenna and sensor modules can be removed and extended but as...

Anyone use a Uniden R3 in their Model S (mounting/power options)

I never thought about the wiser idea but it makes sense. I have a cream interior so I just need to make sure the wiper visor clip doe snot leave a mark or indentation. Where did you find your visor clip? I suppose I can line the visor clip with some felt. Any reason why the radar detector is...

Anyone use a Uniden R3 in their Model S (mounting/power options)

Wonder how it determines "inactivity." It does have GPS so perhaps it uses GPS?

Anyone use a Uniden R3 in their Model S (mounting/power options)

I eventually want to also have a dash cam but waiting for 4K/60 dash cams to be ironed out before I buy one. Yeah I've wondered what I'd do the day I have a dash cam and a radar detector for power and mounting options. Probably too much weight to mount both from the mirror. As much as I hate...

Anyone use a Uniden R3 in their Model S (mounting/power options)

Any reason why you did not tap power in the microphone area? Seems the easiest option as it is very close to where the radar detector is positioned... On eBay you can now buy a wire that plugs in directly to the connector there for a super clean install.
  27. P

    Cream Interior, Oak Paneling

You should create a business selling this as a kit :) This interior to me looks better than any Model 3 interior option offered by the factory. And I'm someone who hardly ever thinks mods look better than factory. You've elevated the Model 3 interior.

    Good Deal? 2014 P85+ with 200k miles for 18k

The only way I'd buy that is if Rich Rebuilds can look over that car and tell me it is okay. He'd know exactly what to look for.
  29. P

Anyone use a Uniden R3 in their Model S (mounting/power options)

Did you find a mirror mount that works with the Model S rear view mirror. I want something that I can use for long trips and completely remove without leaving any marks when I'm done. I found this mirror mount and wire kit that I'm planning to connect to the power in the microphone areas. Just...

Anyone use a Uniden R3 in their Model S (mounting/power options)

I thought radar detectors are legal everywhere other than DC and VA. I would prefer to have some advance warning. I've seen Youtube videos where you are notified of the presence of a tax collection zone well in advance. I'd love to get a totally clean look with the sensors outside the cabin...

    Cream Interior, Oak Paneling

Wow, totally transforms the interior. Makes it look modern and luxurious. Great shade for the wood trim.

What's the best option to make a drive-lapse of 5 hours

Anyone know when the Hero 9 might e coming out? Might as well wait for that if it is not too long of a wait.

Any way to enable Sentry Mode without flashing lights?

Yeah and you kind of know what those places are in advance so this is why an OPTION to change the lighting flashing behavior would be so useful. I can see some places where I want the car to just be stealth, other areas where it should flash, and yet other areas where I'd want the lights to not...
  34. P

    Cream Interior, Oak Paneling

Maybe give the oak trim some time for it to grow on you? Personally, oak trim with a cream interior is my favorite. It really brightens up the interior and the open pore oak trim looks very understated and modern. The glossy would have looked like 70s wood but I love what they've done with the...

Anyone use a Uniden R3 in their Model S (mounting/power options)

I'm thinking about buying a radar detector for use during long trips and I'm leaning towards a Uniden R3. Does anyone use a Uniden R3 in their Model S? I want to keep the installation super clean so curious to see what you did for mounting and power options. I'm thinking perhaps a rear view...

What's the likelihood we will see Speed Limit Sign recognition?

I would prefer the driver specify up to a 10mph offset manually on surface streets as needed for anything over 25 mph with the driver accepting responsibility just like the driver would be responsible for cruise control. This would allow me to keep the pace of traffic around where I live.
  37. P

What's the likelihood we will see Speed Limit Sign recognition?

Wish they had a way to report signs it doe snot pick up so the NN can get better. I really wish sooner rather than later they let you go up to 10mph over the limit. That's the speed of traffic around here.
  38. P

Is Tesla service deteriorating as they scale??

OMG I'd love to be in the timeline/parallel Universe you describe! :D:rolleyes: Sounds so much better than the one some of us are stuck in with miserable service that somehow manages to get even worse and a service visit makes me feel like I'm trash. You have no idea how bad this alternate...

Would you be able to control the operation with the MCU?

What's the best option to make a drive-lapse of 5 hours

I think I'm going to setup a Go Pro like this for all my longer drives. Probably going to use TimeWarp though as that seems the smoothest. Good to know I can power the video recording almost indefinitely with rear USB.

Please keep us posted. Hope they do the right thing and fix/replace the part while maintaining the performance integrity the customer paid for intact.

    18" Modern Spare tire

Seems if you need a spacer, maybe just buy an extra regular wheel so if you need to use it, it's actually a permanent replacement and you can just fix the wheel you pulled out? I guess the Modern Spare takes up less space right? Anyone have a photo of a Modern Spare next to a 19" OEM wheel/tire?

Model S: Best Car ever for the Mountains!

Been using the sunroof the last few days and it's such an amazing experience on a nice day where you can have fresh air and light all around you. Really opens up the interior of the Model S. It makes such a big difference. I really disliked the sealed glass roof a loaner that I once had as it...

Model S: Best Car ever for the Mountains!

Yup. Can't stand them when I'm some place peaceful and trying to enjoy nature and being outside in peace. When driving, I just pull over and let the man child who is starved for attention with all the noise they are making pass and get far away from me before I resume driving. So obnoxious how...

Another front suspension control arm failure

Thanks, this is super useful. That's it! All my turns from now on are going to be sudden turns at a high rate of speed. :D:p

What's the current situation with regards to yellowing Instrument Cluster displays (Not MCU)

Thanks. This is super useful. Yeah I really want Tesla to fix the discoloring/defective display. If the car was out of warranty it would be one thing but this needs to be remedied under warranty.
  48. P

What's the likelihood we will see Speed Limit Sign recognition?

So glad this feature is RTM. Can't wait to see the Speed Limit update! I really hope they allow you to set a speed up to 10 mph higher than the limit on surface streets, as I've stopped using Autopilot on city streets around here because the speed of traffic is about 10mph over the limit. Wish...

Repeater Camera Parking View Too Small to be Useful - Should be similar to TeslaCam Viewer

Would the B Pillar camera view show what is 6 inches away from the front corner of the car when pulling into a tight space?
