I'm not understanding how you could use the central void to fill the cell but not have electrolyte in it.

    Investor Engineering Discussions

I believe those are meant for flat surfaces with minimal bondline thickness which the tabless structure would not provide. So I would say it's so sub optimal that it is not functionally possible.

    Investor Engineering Discussions

Looks as if electrolyte gets injected into the central void left by the winding mandrel:

Some were labeled Land Rover but they were made by a company which I believe Bosch acquired.

Also in the new 4680 teardown video from The Limiting Factor the researcher says the bottom is electrically isolated from the electrode and the cell can which means it's also thermally isolated, i.e. bottom cooling isn't even possible.
  13. JRP3

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I'd still expect to see some in the large central void.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

It is time stamped. First 13 minutes is struggling to get the bottom cell cap off. Bottom seems to be electrically insulated from the electrode.

Maybe a turn signal stalk or steering rack, (which is not actually made by Land Rover), but no motors/inverters, MCU, battery, charger, body parts, etc.

If it's a tilt bed you might be able to put liquid soap under the tires and have it slide off. Maybe run a tow strap or rope to a tree hooked to the car and have the transport pull forward if needed.

Saw one in red a few weeks ago, first non Tesla EV that really caught my eye. Specs seem decent as well. If it had access to the Supercharger network I'd consider it if I didn't already have a Model 3.

Model Y LR built in Giga Austin!!

Yes, and it's not what I would call easy. This is not easy, even though they are removing some extra things that aren't necessary for only pack removal:
  32. JRP3

Model Y LR built in Giga Austin!!

Exactly. Here's a display version partially assembled to show the components attached to the top of the pack:
  33. JRP3

Model Y LR built in Giga Austin!!

Is that after removing all the seats, carpeting, heating ducting, low voltage wiring, and trim?
  34. JRP3

Model Y LR built in Giga Austin!!

If that's a serious post then it shows you don't really understand vehicle construction in general or the castings in specific. A fender bender will not impact the castings and any crash that does impact the castings would also have damaged the unibody frame of a conventional vehicle and likely...
  35. JRP3

Model Y LR built in Giga Austin!!

I think Tesla started rating the range a bit more conservatively, and/or maybe reserving a larger portion of the pack capacity for increased durability.
  36. JRP3

Model Y LR built in Giga Austin!!

To be fair we've seen a lot of insane things done over the years to try and damage the company including misinformation being posted on this forum. It's understandable that people are paranoid. However in this case I don't doubt what's being posted because I see very little upside from...

  38. JRP3

Model Y LR built in Giga Austin!!

I'm not following your logic, you had smaller pack with less range than current pack. OK I'm confused then, the pack size has increased but the range has dropped?
  39. JRP3

Model Y LR built in Giga Austin!!

I was talking about before the acceleration boost, which is why it didn't make sense that it was referring to the SR version and why I'm not surprised it was removed.
  40. JRP3

Model Y LR built in Giga Austin!!

I agree it was a mistake when it was listed for the Austin SR. LR has an 82kWh pack vs SR of around 68. No way the LR Y is getting 330 miles of range from a 75kWh pack. (75 may be usable not total).
  41. JRP3

Model Y LR built in Giga Austin!!

I thought the Austin Y was 5 sec 0-60 and the LR is 4.8.
  42. JRP3

Model Y LR built in Giga Austin!!

Smaller kWh pack likely not able to safely put out the needed current regardless of cell type.

    Tesla BEV Competition Developments

Quite a few assumptions there, plus most Jeep vehicles aren't very efficient. Sure there will be some converts from the group you mention but I think most will be former truck owners.
  46. JRP3

    Elon Musk

The article reflects the fact that many people get the impression that he's anti trans, so as with many topics his messaging is poor. You think it's a coincidence that his trans child is the one that wants nothing to do with him? "Wokeness" is not the issue some people make it out to be.
  47. JRP3

    Elon Musk

As you said "we don't know", i.e. we don't know that one outcome is catastrophically bad. This growth curve does not look sustainable in the least: Note the massive population collapse from the Black Death. Spanish flue doesn't even show up. US life expectancy is lower than many other...

CT is a pretty big jump in size from those vehicles as well as vehicle type. Jeep does sell some pickups but I think a small amount compared to their other vehicles.
