I used the FREE HPWC at the Christina Lake Visitor Centre earlier this month. I got the full 16kW in my old Model S, but I don't think you can pull that much in a 3. You'll get the max your car can on L2 charging though. There is also a Flo setup in the same parking lot with both L2 and L3...

More than half of the people in LA county are renters. It stands to reason that many of them cannot charge at home.

Also, there are loads of superchargers that don't have them (I'm charging at one right now). So it shouldn't be something we track in terms of determining whether the supercharger will open soon. Unless of course we see the parking stops lying around near the construction site.

It isn't unusual at all for a supercharger to be in the described state for quite some time before it gets activated. There is no requirement for it to be fenced off with hoods on the stalls if the electricity isn't flowing. Not sure why some people in this thread seem to think that's the...

There are a lot of superchargers with no parking stops, so I wouldn't worry about that too much. You'd have to talk to Waylon Riffle to answer your other questions.

Highly unlikely there is an underground transformer. Therefore... we are waiting on a transformer. Could be anywhere from a week to a year before this is open.

I'd be shocked if this were energized in 5 days.

Would appreciate an update on this one if anyone is passing through this weekend (or later this week). Look for the meter!

I've used the Circle K without issue 2-3 times in the last year or two. IIRC it's kind of a dingy 1-stall bathroom, but I've never had to wait long. I've never seen the inside of the BK open during the pandemic, day or night.

It definitely wasn't open when I went through on May 28th. I even entered the parking garage. The entire bottom floor was blocked off just like it was the last time I was there.

Also look for a transformer and meter.

I like the "friends" idea better than the "groups" idea. With friends each person can control who sees their location. With groups, you are conceding that power to one or more people. And you may not always agree with their decisions.

Those were always at the Coast sportsbooks. Can't remember if they were 50 cents or a dollar, but they were dirt cheap and surprisingly not that bad! Not sure if they offer those any more. Kinda seems like something that would have disappeared during the pandemic if they hadn't already.

It probably varies by state, but I don't think your home state will find out about citations in other states, especially if they are not adjacent. And I doubt your insurance company is researching whether or not you get citations in other states either. I could be wrong though. Would be happy...

Seems like OKC to Van Buren, AR is the only really long stretch that doesn't at least have a permit. Honorable mention goes to the Shelby, MT to Fort MacLeod, AB gap half of which is in Canada.

They haven't been doing this in similar situations in the US. I'm not sure if upgrading is all that much easier than just building a new one (might help quite a bit if they can avoid permitting and local utility delays however). If that is the case, then obviously we'd rather keep the old ones...

Cops are notorious in Flagstaff period. You don't need to be speeding! Out of state plates are enough to get you a side of the highway search of your car. Hasn't seemed as bad when I've gone through during the pandemic. Hopefully they've gained a new-found respect for the 4th amendment.

I charged there a few days ago and it was fine. I believe the "Reduced service" is because some of the original stalls are blocked. It was originally 12 stalls and right now something like 8 or 10 are available (I thought it was 8 in person, but the Nav screenshot says 10). No big deal unless...
