FWIW those thin pylons/pillars have always been a weak point for Summon and Autopark. It seems like the ultrasonic sensors have poor coverage when it comes to such thin obstacles and I guess this shows that the vision system introduced as part of smart summon still isn’t enough :(

Intel spent a whopping 15.3 billion dollars to buy out MobilEye. That’s not exactly a great value for Tesla compared to in house Autopilot.

Interesting! And just to add, in my case, after dozens of miles, it did not fix its own calibration. But after the service center did the full Autopilot recalibration with the big screen TVs / targets, Autopilot worked normally again.

MCU1 isn’t terrible but MCU2 is sooooo much faster and just keeps getting better. MCU1 is very much legacy mode at Tesla and all we can hope is it doesn’t get less and less stable with each release.

No it's specifically retrofitted MCU2s that don't have radio. The radio tuner module is buried even deeper behind the steering wheel and would require even more disassembling / labor to get to it, which is likely the reason Tesla doesn't want to do it for $2500.

I still think maintenance is separate from repairs. The car also doesn't have magical bulletproof/nailproof tires and replacing a tire can be $200 too.

Sounds like a parking sensor was damaged. Indeed it is normal for warranties to not cover damage as a result of rock collisions. This would be covered by car insurance but for a $190 part it's probably not worth filing an insurance claim....
