Confusion on non-Tesla charging in France on Supercharger

So quick check on Supercharger costs for non-tesla users in France: No subs - 55c/kwh Sub 12.99/month and 37c/kwh Seems to vary by a few cents depending on the charger.

Confusion on non-Tesla charging in France on Supercharger

Interesting, I was using a UK sub in France last year and thought it came out at .35/KwH with a 17.99 per month but I'm going to go back and check that. Hyundai were billing at .25/KwH through Ionity - not sure thats still the case though. Given French wholesale prices have tripled I can't see...

Confusion on non-Tesla charging in France on Supercharger

Question of quantity I guess. The monthly Ionity fee gets you, in France, approx 10c per KwH cheaper than Tesla - you'll need to be doing a decent mileage to cover the subs cost but not outrageous. If you have a deal with another non-Tesla car manufacturer it may be as much as 20c per KwH...

Confusion on non-Tesla charging in France on Supercharger

I guess thats why the prices in France have ramped up so much in the last 12 months - I think 0.24 to 0.42 since I bought a Model S at the end of 2020. I hate to think what it costs without a Tesla - price seems difficult to find. I've pretty much stopped using superchargers recently - ionity...

    Verizon Supercharger

Happened to stop at the Vierzon (France) supercharger yesterday (It's got a couple of handy restaurants) - seems Tesla went large and has 36+ stations installed there now. Not quite the largest in Europe but an impressive sight.

POLL: vibration felt when slightly accelerating refresh Mode S Plaid or LR

Mines a Sep 2020 LR and I started get the vibrations at about 7k miles. Took it in and they replaced the front half shafts (4 days in the workshop) no questions asked and it was very smooth after. However, another 5k miles in beginning to feel the vibration again I think - will give it another...

Charging issues after 4 weeks parked

The charger is fine with my other car and the internal charger reported all 3 phases working fine on that car. It seems 4 weeks sitting has caused something to degrade somewhere thats causing an issue with the on board AC circuits. A Supercharger uses the DC circuit which completely bypasses the...

Charging issues after 4 weeks parked

I have left my 2020 S parked for 4 weeks (dropped from 80% to 60%) and tried to charge it yesterday. Oddly the charger (3 phase type 2) gave me a No ground error and the car refused to charge. So I tested the charger on my other car - ran without a problem. Tried a mains charger and no joy...

Why does the battery discharge while plugged in?

I have found the vampire drops considerably if you unplug after charging. I was getting about 2% a day leaving it plugged in, it's under 1% if I unplug it.

    Model s Half shafts

Just in case anyone is keeping score My September 2020 Model S Long Range was developing a small shudder at 9k miles. Took it in and Tesla eventually admitted that the half shafts needed replacing which they are doing. Not really great after 12 months and pretty low mileage.

Please school me on supercharging issues

Note that I have found that leaving the car plugged in all the time increases the idle consumption from about 0.5kwh/day to 2kwh/day mainly, it seems, as it prevents the car going to sleep.

3 phase charger but Tesla only uses 2 phases

What was really useful for me is my charger gives me a phase by phase read out every second - so I can see exactly what was happening as the Tesla display was hopeless. Also a quick double check on another car to make sure the circuits were good. Tesla did manage to diagnose remotely, jjust...

    Cutting vampire drain

Looks like plugged is not so happy! I even tried scheduling my charger to only switch on half an hour a day - it appears the car doesn't sleep if the cable is in (active or not). Actually leaving TeslaFi (or equivalent) running seems to make marginal differences. I now just leave it unplugged as...

    Cutting vampire drain

After some experimentation I managed to cut my drain (2020 LR) from 2.2KwH to 0.7 KwH per day (measured at the power meter). Seems the biggest contributor to the consumption was leaving it plugged in - unplugging the charge lead meant the car went to sleep without charging intermittently...

3 phase charger but Tesla only uses 2 phases

Just an update here. I eventually (took over 3 months of promises and cancelled visits) got Tesla to swap out the charging unit and hey presto I now get the full 3 phases as confirmed from the charger (the tesla and the tesla app lied about this) with the associated increase in power as...

Help with Power Meter and Vampire Drain

I have the same sort of quantum - 2020 LR and with a power meter on the charger spur it's showing a consistent 2.2 KwH per day sitting with the charger plugged in while in the garage with everything off (unpaired Bluetooth, Keys in faraday, no apps connected). Seems pretty excessive.

    AC charging issue since 2020.44

Mine seems to have improved (2020 Model S LR) in that I don't have to open the door to kick off a charge but I have to keep the power very low and it occasionally fails still. Have only got 2 active phases but that's probably a different issue.

    AC charging issue since 2020.44

I have this problem constantly. Works fine charging after a long trip when the car is warm. Only way to do it from cold seems to be to run the heating for 10 mins, get the MCU on and plug in with 2kw power and slowly ramp it up as Zuikkis. I can only seem to get 2 phases to work though. Still...

    AC charging issue since 2020.44

Charged the car on a Supercharger and a few hours later plugged it in and now it all worked fine (although I am only getting 2 out of 3 phases working). Will re-test after it's had overnight to cool down in case it's the battery temperature allowing the AC charge to run.

    AC charging issue since 2020.44

Yes - I have mobile tech visiting next week but was seeing if there was something obvious I missed.

    AC charging issue since 2020.44

Some additional testing here : tried a spare high power charger and different lead, tried warming the battery up, put the mains power through a UPS for voltage stabilisation - none of it made a difference.

    AC charging issue since 2020.44

This is exactly the issue I have both with a high powered (22kw) AC and the mains charger. Have tried dialling the high powered charger to the minimum (10A) and nothing - just clicking and then stops. Rebooted the car, rebooted the charger nothing seems to work. Both chargers work fine on my...

3 phase charger but Tesla only uses 2 phases

Sort of defeats the object of putting in a 32 Amp spur not that I use more than 7kw most of the time. I'll log a warranty claim though and see what happens :)

3 phase charger but Tesla only uses 2 phases

I have a 3 phase charger at home that go up to 22kw. I had not bothered logging into the charger to see what it was doing until recently when my Model S started flaking out on the charging (charges for 2 seconds, turns off, charges for 2 sec, turns off etc). Logging in on the Tesla app it claims...
