    Electrify America general discussion

I cannot get higher than 132 kW on my local EA 500 amp name plated listed station so this chart is entirely dependent on "luck of the draw" with whatever EA station you are at.

    Electrify America general discussion

Your insinuation being that a *global* supply shortage doesn't affect Tesla? Manufacturing in house still requires parts!
  4. Jeremy3292

    Electrify America general discussion

Is the Tesla supercharging network having the same issue? The answer is no.
  5. Jeremy3292

    Electrify America general discussion

EA site near my house has had one unit down for over SIX months. That is not a typo, it literally has been off-line entirely for over six months, leaving only three available for use. EA absolutely sucks and the plug share check-ins and notes of stations down all across America supports this...

Lol I took a photo myself of that area (didn't upload to the forums) and didn't even think about it. Haha good catch!

Powder Coating 19 inch sport wheels

Any more pics? Are these satin finish?
  8. Jeremy3292

Powder Coating 19 inch sport wheels

Does anyone have a paint code available? Went by local shop today and its $140 per rim for painting, powder coating is unnecessary IMO (Tesla wheels come painted). Also the gloss vs satin vs matte finish is so hard to choose.
  9. Jeremy3292

Powder Coating 19 inch sport wheels

I am also considering doing this but don't want dark black rims. Want more a dark gray satin finish. Those 21" Arachnids are the perfect color

    Supercharger - Greenville, SC

I agree and if they could somehow get a 12 stall SuC around the interchange of I-26 and I-85 that would kill two birds with one stone as they say. I think they certainly have struggled finding anyone who wants to sign a lease along I-26 too.
  11. Jeremy3292

    Supercharger - Greenville, SC

I disagree. On I-85 there are no SuC in CLT. You must take the 485 beltway to get to a SuC, while not terrible, is certainly out of the way. So on I-85 from Archdale, NC to ATL (Buford) there is one 8 stall V2, one 8 stall V3, and one 12 stall V3. So that’s all you get for 283 miles on a HEAVILY...

    Supercharger - Greenville, SC

You must not have read my entire post :) I said that exact thing lol
  13. Jeremy3292

    Supercharger - Greenville, SC

Sorry I should’ve been clearer. The spacing is not adequate for travelers between CLT and Greenville, especially when the CLT SuC are a bit off I-85. So for those passing through who don’t have ATL or CLT as their final destination, it can be a bit cumbersome. It’s not awful but it could be much...

    Supercharger - Greenville, SC

Local resident - had to charge here today due to a whirlwind trip I’m on across NC and SC. This SuC is constantly full, which I already knew, but on top of that the power sharing absolutely sucks. That’s even with the new Piedmont SuC 11 miles down the road. Tesla really needs to work on the...

    Supercharger - Thomasville, NC

I tried today and no luck but power is imminent. Everything looks done and ready to go. Will be much needed relief for the Archdale SuC. Also shockingly this site wasn’t ICEd at all around lunch time, even though it is a really busy area and there were cars everywhere.

@jjrandorin can you please move this topic to the Southeast subforum? The mods of this subforum won't respond, if there even are any. Thanks

No, it is the same Raleigh site just had two legacy threads on it it appears.

    New Official Illuminated Door sills

Bringing this thread back to life as I see the silver ones are $175 now vs $250 still for the black ones, at least for the Model 3. How is everyone doing with theirs? Any issues?
  19. Jeremy3292

    Supercharger - Gastonia, NC

With the new Thomasville SuC planned for Q3 and now under construction, I'm curious if anyone has seen anything related to the new Gastonia SuC yet as Tesla is also saying Q3 for this one as well. This is a much needed SuC on the I-85 corridor between CLT, Greenville, & ATL...

Electrify America is CHEAPER than Superchargers in TN and GA, and some parts of Florida

Interesting; I didn’t know this. So basically you’ll always be charged in the higher tier when using EA, unless for some reason you are charging there with a high SoC and never get above 90 kW (unlikely scenario). Whereas Tesla charges you specifically for each min in whatever tier you’re using.

SAE J1772 adapter no longer included in purchase?

That will likely be a long time from now as someone would’ve had to have ordered after I think it was 4/29 and already taken delivery of their car. So we won’t know for a little bit I think to your point
  24. Jeremy3292

Electrify America is CHEAPER than Superchargers in TN and GA, and some parts of Florida

To each his own, but I have no desire to use EA except only when needed. EA chargers are down all the time and unreliable. For example, the one near me has had 1 out of 4 stalls down for literally 6+ months and is often full. A quick look on the map shows stalls out of order at other chargers in...

SAE J1772 adapter no longer included in purchase?

I definitely think the J1772 adapter still comes with the car. The mobile connector bundle on Tesla's website does not include a J1772 adapter. https://shop.tesla.com/product/mobile-connector

Supercharging now costs more than gas (one owner's experience)

The birthday cake example doesn't really make sense to me, bc a birthday cake doesn't cost that much to make. It also doesn't cost 3-4x more as Tesla simply went to a peak/off peak model like many utility providers do (from what I've seen). This also seems to be strictly a California and high...

Supercharging now costs more than gas (one owner's experience)

I realize this is an old thread and with how high gas prices are these days this entire thread is probably moot, but why are we talking about supercharging prices compared to gas prices at all? You charge your car at your house where it is incredibly cheap to charge (or apt where it is included...

Supercharger - South Charlotte - Ballantyne

The whole power sharing thing sucks in general, but the flip side could also be true for the person that arrives with a 10% SoC and it says 1 hour to get to 80% for example. In theory, the first car has been there the longest and has been receiving "good power" so the new car arriving would...
  31. Jeremy3292

Supercharger - South Charlotte - Ballantyne

They give priority to those with lower SoC on V2's. That is not unusual and has been the norm for awhile. At least that's my understanding. Also per TeslaTap below: Based on your graph it looks like your SoC was at or above 50% when the other car plugged in next to you (but I could be...

14-50 on 100 amp breaker? Ok to use?

Exactly what I recommended earlier. A simple label is a great choice just to be certain in the future.

14-50 on 100 amp breaker? Ok to use?

Your insinuation being that because someone has a bad post they can’t also have a good post and vice versa? A person can only either be stupid or smart? I give credit where credit is due and I criticize where I think criticism is warranted. I would expect the same from others in regards to all...

14-50 on 100 amp breaker? Ok to use?

As usual, you are taking my comments out of context. My words were as follows: "It is "fine" if you know what you are doing and what you are using it for, but it could cause problems for a future person down the road. That is why I always say wire the circuit for the max rated output bc you...
  36. Jeremy3292

14-50 on 100 amp breaker? Ok to use?

Let's try this again since you apparently like selective reading. Here is my entire post below: "Yes, while this may be "allowed" I would say it is not "recommended". If this is done I would put a label on the outlet that says "32 AMPS MAX DRAW" or something like that. A person could easily...
  37. Jeremy3292

14-50 on 100 amp breaker? Ok to use?

I think you are missing the forest for the trees. You are also quoting one small piece of what I said out of context and then grandstanding on that out of context statement. It is a very reasonable conclusion that a 14-50 outlet would have 50 amp wiring, as the outlet is rated for 50 amps...
  38. Jeremy3292

14-50 on 100 amp breaker? Ok to use?

Yes, while this may be "allowed" I would say it is not "recommended". If this is done I would put a label on the outlet that says "32 AMPS MAX DRAW" or something like that. A person could easily assume the wiring is rated for 50 amps bc it is a 14-50 receptacle, which is a pretty reasonable...
  39. Jeremy3292

14-50 on 100 amp breaker? Ok to use?

It's a NEMA 14-50R...125/250 volts and has 4 wires. 6-50R has 3 wires and is rated for 250 volts only. See Tesla chart below:
  40. Jeremy3292

14-50 on 100 amp breaker? Ok to use?

This is incorrect and your analogy doesn't make logical sense. The breaker will trip at anything past 20 amps, which is what the outlet (receptacle), breaker, and wiring is rated for. Plug in a 1 amp iPhone? No worries bc the entire circuit is rated for 20 amps and will shut off once you...

Serious 12v battery corrosion. 4,700 miles

Don’t get me wrong, this whole situation is total BS for sure. I’m simply giving you the option to at least fix it for now was all.

    Tires Designed for EVs

2/32" is very dangerous - replace all 4 and rotate the tires appropriately every 6,250 miles as per Tesla (I do 7,500 miles personally and have had no issues).

FS: Brand new 2022 Model 3 Tesla all weather floor mats $200, Everett WA

I don't need em as I already have the Tesmanian floor mats, but I would take em for $175 shipped to South Carolina since they're the OEM ones 😁

Serious 12v battery corrosion. 4,700 miles

Smelly stinky socks / mold in Model 3 AC

Is this issue limited to just older M3’s? As in like 2018 or 2019 model years? I have over 17,000 miles on my 2021 M3 now and have yet to have any issues. I always use the auto setting FWIW. Fingers crossed

    Supercharger - Raleigh NC

Perhaps this is why they are expanding…8 PM on a Sunday night and all stalls are in use. Also $0.30 per kWh is really cheap these days…haven’t seen it that low even here in South Carolina.
