Correction to this article; Willow Springs' drag strip is 1,000 feet long, it was measured for track insurance purposes. However, the track has a slight upward incline, so ETs are going to suffer a little bit. Gravity is an enemy. :)

Went drag racing last night at Willow Springs. Got in 6 races. Whacked a couple Hellcat Chargers and a badass Camaro, among others. Somehow I got distracted during the amber light countdown against a silver Hellcat, so he got the jump. But I caught him within about a hundred feet. Game over.

I'm on my third Tesla Model S. Looking under the hood of any ICE car seems like an exercise in steam punk. Wires, hoses, air ducts, pumps, electrical equipment, radiator, fans, spark plugs, gas tubes, filters, fluid containers, etc.

The Tesla Plaid Channel is marvelous, I also subscribe. I'm happy the NHRA changed the rules, although flat out the MS Plaid might hit 150 mph in the quarter mile. Am I doing something wrong? Went drag racing at Willow Springs yesterday. Won 10 races in my MS Plaid, lost one to another Plaid because of some kind of screw-up, about half way through the day's racing. Drag Strip Mode was enabled and fully operational. Left foot down and hold. Right foot down...

I just, finally, figured it out. Turn off scheduled departure first to enable scheduled charging time. Duh. LOL

OK I have a weird little problem. I cannot figure out how to set the car's charging start time at home to take advantage of lower electricity rates. There seems to be an option to set a start time but it's dimmed out. YouTube is of no help, neither is the owner manual. What am I doing wrong?
