IIRC Lexus LS air suspension has some problems around 100k miles too. I would be interested to know if there is an AS system that can truly go 200k miles without question. The Tesla MX never struck me as reliable, or having low cost of ownership, but I suppose if you're coming from a MB G-Wagon...

Sure, more values would be great. The problem is EPA doesn’t even have consistently on a single dimension, likely because they allow automakers to choose from multiple test cycles. (FYI, the Bjorn tests use 2 speeds, 90 and 120 km, and cold/warm weather conditions)

That motor looks like half the size of the Taycan motor, and it has almost the same power output as a Turbo S - in one motor. Lucid has given us something very special.

The main point is the EPA range is useless for comparing cars. Efficiency will come into play for cross country road trips, but day-to-day it doesn't matter much. What matters more IMO is the Mach-e is the same price as the Y, but still eligible for the $7500 federal rebate.

Sell. You will get serious value right now. I had this issue with the Audi e-tron, and felt the exact same way in the Model Y (multiple tests in different cities). It doesn't get better. My only regret is trying to stick it out.

For me it's EV6 all day. Faster charging (18 minute 80% charge), better ride quality, quieter, nicer interior appointments. The V2G function is also pretty cool. The Tesla network is still unbeatable though.

Some newer luxury ICE cars are eerily quiet even at low speed.

Not the OP, but I have sold recently to CarMax. Take $3-5k off the going rate. They are sky high right now. Could even be better than that for Teslas.

Do you hear it in that entire range from 80-130 km? That does not seem normal to me. I remember a couple very annoying resonant areas around 67km and 130km, but it was otherwise quiet (Model 3 dual motor). The only problem was cruising at those particular speeds.

If that's the case, you may be able to work something out with that store by calling the sales team. Just a thought.

You're right. If they knew the window couldn't roll down during an update the screen should clearly say "Warning: opening door during update may break window glass." I don't see how anyone would know this in advance.

Looks like this may also be a problem with the Taycan Cross Turismo. Two owners are complaining about a buffetting noise (with windows up) and ear pressure.

The Edmunds video is the worst kind of transparent clickbait I have seen from a car review. Just absurd and frankly embarrassing. Tesla really has a way of bringing out the crazy in otherwise reasonable people. And this is coming from someone who prefers the Taycan and EQS.

Compared to gas cars EVs are quieter overall, but they tend to make some more noise (motors, inverters) in the 1-5kHz range. Human hearing is particularly sensitive to that range for evolutionary reasons (babies crying, etc.) EVs also lack the masking effect of an ICE engine. Imagine hearing...

What kind of monster drives without the acoustic foam liner?

For whatever reason all EVs tend to bother my ears. Trading a luxury ICE for an EV motor is a minimal sonic benefit, and you get some other “EV sounds” especially in the high frequency realm. Nothing beats a Mercedes or Lexus for comfort IMO. I have also had endless problems with my e-tron.

I have had one for almost a year. It’s an amazing little car, and quite a deal after tax credits (and state incentives if that applies). You’re right about the range being conservative. Do you have any specific questions? (Just saw this is an old thread)

Isn't the battery 8 years? That would be some time in 2021. I purchased a 2019 car "new" in 2021 and the warranties all started on delivery.
