    P90DL battery replacement thread.

Not much hope of Tesla replacing a battery until it actually fails and then you are only promised to get a battery in "like" condition to yours prior to the failure. Tesla has not be replacing failed batteries with new ones for some time. Everyone I am aware of has been a refurb and they do not...

    Air suspension recalibration

you can check the air shocks with a bit of soapy water. They are fairly easy to rebuild with new O-Rings. Several threads on it.

Real life experience with Xcelerate warranty?

I have been out of warranty for a while. I just rebuilt the rear air shocks due to corrosion around the bottom O Ring. No other issues with the car. I was lucky to have the door handles updated and the MCU replaced before the factory warranty was up. In my case, I have to consider what is left...

Real life experience with Xcelerate warranty?

I have been reviewing the items that are not covered by X-care (section 4 of the contract). The list is quite extensive and should be reviewed carefully. I am having trouble finding the value in their coverage after reading so it is likely not a good deal for me. Brent has been great in...

    Reliability of older Model S?

I don't know if Tesla still leases the Model S but if you want to drive a Tesla long term I am beginning to think that leasing works out to be less expensive. I'm on my 3rd Model S now. I've been out of warranty for some time now. I just rebuilt the rear air struts which had leaky bottom gaskets...

  37. davidc18

    Smart Air Suspension Problem

check for corrosion at the bottom of the air strut lip. spray a little soapy water up there and if it bubbles then you have found your leak. It is possible to repair. I expect that most of the cars that live up north are going to have this problem eventually.
  38. davidc18

    Air suspension strut leak

It is fairly easy to rebuild the air shocks. They start leaking when the corrosion builds up and the O rings can not seat properly. Cleaned it up and reassembled. Problem solved.
