    72A Charger Upgrade

I also have a June 2016 Model S, but a 75D. Mine came with a 48A charger, and I paid to upgrade it to 72A. In my case it was a physical replacement, not a software upgrade.

why does USA model Y shown 313 miles and Uk shows 331 miles range

EPA vs WLTP? Different government methods of measuring range give different results.

Has anyone ever gotten Tesla Service to replace a battery due to degradation?

Tesla used to have lots of info for the Roadster, the page is still there, but sadly the images aren't, and they're not on the wayback machine either. There used to be a great graph showing how much energy was used per mile across various speeds. Roadster Efficiency and Range EDIT: I...

Has anyone ever gotten Tesla Service to replace a battery due to degradation?

Absolutely this. I would like to see all EV companies put out a clear public info page that explained what conditions they used to determine a rated mile, and include a chart with energy used per mile at various speeds and conditions, along with info about how much energy things such as the...

Can I get the tesla key card wet?

You can get it wet, but don't feed it after midnight.

    Block GPS?

It might not. When I did the MCU1 -> MCU2 update, they didn't connect the GPS antenna, so for 2-3 days my car showed as stationary at the old HQ in Palo Alto.

Want to absolutely confirm: I can charge off a dryer plug?

The adapters from Tesla let the car know what is the correct value, so it should set to 24a.

Relaying Wi-Fi to detached garage at a distance

It's a wifi bridge. You'd need to buy 2 units, each one has an ethernet port and a highly directional wifi antenna. Anything that goes in the ethernet port of 1 unit, comes out of the ethernet port on the other unit. So to get wifi to the car at the other end you'd need a cheap access point...

MASTER THREAD: Range Loss Over Time, What Can Be Expected, Efficiency, How to Maintain Battery Health

I would ask Tesla service about it, and go from there. However, this is really about what you want. If you're not happy with the car, then you may well be best to sell it and get something that you'll like better. I hear resale prices are good right now.

Writing a letter to my Representatives (USA)

I didn't see any mention of what you want them to do. Allow Tesla to sell in the state? Allow Tesla to be part of any new EV credit scheme? Just recognize that EVs are a good thing?

I feel terrible for GM Bolt owners as a former Volt owner

I think the only sensible thing for them to do right now is to start a buy back program. Give owners a generous offer to take the car off their hands, and let them get into something else.

Why would you not correct yourself when parking

Maybe when the Tesla arrived, there was some other car where the Leaf is now, which was parked badly, forcing the Tesla to go outside of its bay?

Giving Apps Permission to your Tesla Accounrt

I've put longer responses to this in other threads in the past, but to summarize. - If you give them your login, or just a token, they have the same access via the API that you do. - The biggest problem for me isn't that I don't trust the app/app maker, it's that I don't know how good their...

Anyone able to pick up directly from Fremont, if live close enough?

Does it say delivery fee, or destination fee? IIRC destination fee is non-negotiable, and legally has to be the same for any location in the lower 48. I picked my car up from the factory, but it made no difference to the price/fees. However, that was a few years ago, so things could be...

Superchargers open to all other EVs later this year (2021)

He said "Over time, all countries", that's a pretty ambiguous timeline. However, that still doesn't mean it'll be open to all EVs. They might require a manufacturer agreement to help build out the network. As I said, you're making quite the leap to assume that a Rivian will be able to use...

Could the Lack of Mirrors Transfer to Other Models?

If they get the go-ahead for Cybertruck then it would be great to see it on the whole range. IIRC right now the sticking point is that there are laws that specifically require a mirror, they need to be re-written to allow a camera/screen alternative. e.g...

Superchargers open to all other EVs later this year (2021)

Who says you'll be able to charge a Rivian at a supercharger? Until Tesla lists which countries this applies to, and which other EVs, I think that's quite a leap. Sure, it could be any EV in any country, but it could also be limited to certain countries (those with CCS connectors and legal...

Possible to steal a tesla with a MITM attack?

This has been done in Europe with the older key fobs, I believe "PIN to drive" was a response to it happening. As you mentioned, the RF signal is just relayed, and measuring "time in flight" is a mitigation. I would expect it to be harder with bluetooth due to the frequency hopping that it...

California HOV sticker?? Lol .. really????

Worse than that (arguably), it's one of those tamper evident stickers, which leaves half of it behind when you take it off. Took me about an hour with goo gone to remove the residue. I've seen people recommend to stick it onto a small piece of PPF, and then stick that onto the car instead, for...

Someone points out your deception and you immediately resort to name calling. Guess that's enough for me.

I am selling my Model Y SR I just bought in February, maybe you should too??

Your picture showed someone looking disappointed, the video started with sad music, a sigh, and the line "Guys I have some bad news". You're saying that you didn't intentionally mislead/exaggerate?

Intrusion detection worth it? Plus other topics of discussion

The "leave the A/C on" option still works, so I would assume dog mode does too. It doesn't permanently disable it, but you can only choose one or the other on the settings screen.

Wrong Way Crash Caused by Nissan

I read your thread title as implying that the Tesla was going the wrong way. That does not appear to be the case however..... https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2021-06-29/2-killed-in-wrong-way-crash-on-210-in-rialto

Intrusion detection worth it? Plus other topics of discussion

Note that the intrusion detection and the cabin heat protection are mutually exclusive. So depending on your climate and where you park, it might be a deal breaker for you.

Relocating to UK...what to do with my Tesla?

Are your indicators (turn signal lights) amber or red? In the UK they must be amber. The charging sockets are all different in the UK, adapters will work for some of them, but probably not all (do the US chargers support 3-phase?). You'd need to get a UK SIM installed in the car, and as you...

Has anyone install a DCC-10 EV Energy Management System with a Tesla Wall Connector?

I had the electrician hard wire the HPWC to it. It's on a 40A circuit, and they correctly set the HPWC to deliver 32A. Like @EdM3 I charge after midnight, so the total power usage in the house is low.
  43. D

Has anyone install a DCC-10 EV Energy Management System with a Tesla Wall Connector?

I have one of those, and it's not triggered so far. The only problem I've had with it, is that it hums. Make sure your installer doesn't leave without taking a listen to make sure it's not too loud for you.

    Range on 2016 75 RWD?

As @ucmndd pointed out, that slider doesn't look to be set to 100%. As another data point, my 2016 S75D with 52K miles on the clock gets 215 miles at 90% so about 239 at 100.

Is two months too long to wait for update?

I have 2020.36.3.1 - I expect many other people have similar. When there's something new for MCU1 I'm sure we'll get it.

Tesla Dies in IKEA Parking Lot

A little bit of me dies every time I have to go to IKEA too. I'd wait and see what the service center gets from the diagnostics before assuming the tech was right about the MCU. There are many things that could trigger the car to refuse to drive.

    Thinkware U1000 Dash Cam

I have an older model ThinkWare and have been very happy with it. Mine requires a connection to constant power, and a switched (accessory) power that comes on when the car starts. It uses that to know when to go in/out of parking mode. I think the cutoff you're talking about is if it...

can you drive with no running lights (or headlights)?

On my 2016 Model-S you can enable range mode to turn off the DRLs. I don't know if that applies to the Model 3 too, and IIRC in some countries (Canada) DRLs are required by law, so can't be turned off.
