That's exactly when the average demand plan works well. That max peak draw in one day gets averaged across all the other days with zero peak and you may end with zero demand charge. e.g. your 0.9kW from this morning averaged with 20 zero's across the rest of month (only peak days count) is...

I completely agree with the sentiment; while the Utility Rate Plan is a huge step forward and likely allows for a lot of tailoring it can't handle all circumstances. I do however wonder whether the massive amount of standardized data that Tesla will end up with here can help influence...

Sharing my settings for SRP (AZ) average demand plan that’s worked as I would have hoped! These pretty much match actual plan (just set the peak buy rate artificially higher to reflect demand change to effectively prevent grid draw)

Some in AZ (myself included) are already reporting this is available in AZ (see below). Seems like you need iOS app 4.2+ and firmware 21.35+ and then capability needs to be turned on for you specifically (it's not clear how / when that last part happens)...

That’s a nice setup! My Sunny Boy 6.0 was fine when at 80% of max DC size but now at 95%+ so pushing it a little harder. Suspect yours also benefit from free airflow around them where as mine is wall mounted…

I think Phoenix is currently running at about 60 days for permits. From my experience from initial installation (July of 2020 with non Tesla installer) the SRP process was fairly quick but think some of their regs around Powerwall installations were changing around same time as my project so...

Yes on day of PTO they locked them (but it was sort of a last minute thing as he was leaving - "here, can you please add these" as he handed me a box with of locks and keys)

Mine (2 of them - one for solar one for battery) both have a lock supplied by SRP (my AZ electric supplier). I have the keys but also suspect that SRP have master keys.

I have upgraded app and the way the interface is set up (you "add" peak and shoulder periods) I had high hopes that this would be possible but unfortunately only allowed one peak (perhaps this however create a path to a future update)

Sorry was not that scientific… just figured every little percentage helps…

I hung a small shade sail (ColorTree do custom sizes / colors down to 6ft square on Amazon) from the roofline down to ground (mounted using spiral ground anchors) to provide some shading for my Powerwall and inverter.

I too got a little too excited! I have seen the issue for last 3-4 weeks (but more frequently I last week or so). I have seen it when I have known connection issue on my phone (e.g. WiFi down) so suspect it’s a new message letting you know there is some sort of data transfer issue…
