    2017 Tesla Model S75D - 43K miles CLEAN

With the supply chain issues, new Tesla inventory is completely wiped out. Used inventory is down to a pretty limited selection. Combine that with the current price of gas and it seems that Tesla prices are moving north. Something to think about...

    2017 Tesla Model S75D - 43K miles CLEAN

A quick update.. I received an updated offer for my 2017 MS 75D. The new high offer is $50,500.00. Additionally, I have been asked a few times if my Model S has the "Bio-weapon Defense Mode" capability. It does. Thanks

    2017 Tesla Model S75D - 43K miles CLEAN

A quick update. The highest offer remains at $50k I have driven the car a bit - the new current odometer reading is 43437. I'll update again by the end of the week even if the highest offer stays the same. However, if a higher offer comes in then I will post an update, hopefully the same day...

    2017 Tesla Model S75D - 43K miles CLEAN

I have asked Tesla Service and emailed Tesla directly. One said yes and one said no. That is as far as I took it. In short, I can't commit that free supercharging will transfer. If it does, awesome! If it doesn't, well we kind of expected that I guess. I'm not sure this has an relevance...

    2017 Tesla Model S75D - 43K miles CLEAN

The current high bid is $50k. Sorry, I should have been updating the post. I held off because there were only two people interested to this point and we have been in DM/Conversations thus far because it was easier. My fault.. I promise to get on the stick! :)

To MCU2 or not to MCU2?

How long does this upgrade typically take?
  16. LMichel

To MCU2 or not to MCU2?

I set up a service appt to what I worded as "Upgrade to MCU2 and HW3". This seemed to confuse the service center people. Their response was: "It's $2000 for MCU2, do you want that?" They seemed to be under the impression that HW3 isn't really 'a thing they do'? Let's say I want to upgrade my...

To MCU2 or not to MCU2?

Thanks for the help. I think I will get the upgrade(s). Honestly, the only symptom I have with the car is that every now and then (1 per month?) all audio completely goes silent, including turn signal, entertainment, beeps and alerts..everything. I have to do a reboot and it all comes back...

To MCU2 or not to MCU2?

Wow, I've been living under a rock for a couple years. I basically walked away from the forums, just figured my 2017 MS 75D was hardware locked and would never get beyond features that new software upgrades could support. I have AP2 and EAP. I've never had an issue with the 'memory chip'...

GROUP BUY - MCU-1 to MCU-2 Upgrade, Testing interest

True. And I agree that the corporate strategy is likely "sell cars at any cost to customer loyalty". It's the 'new way' for companies today. But, I'm sure I am not alone in that I have purchased my one and only Tesla. I have participated as an early adopter - with no one really to blame but...

GROUP BUY - MCU-1 to MCU-2 Upgrade, Testing interest

When I read the title of this post, I took it as; 'how many people would it take before Tesla would pay attention to seriously offering an upgrade service?' Of course it would be expensive, no one seems to dispute that. BUT, how much would the market bear? I'd love to see a survey about the...

Service Center - Rochester, NY: When? Where? Really?

Coincidentally, I had an appointment at the Rochester Service Center yesterday to get my A/C fixed. They've made some improvements to the curb appeal of the building - there's an actual Tesla sign, the parking lot is cleaned up, the waiting area has WiFi and new, comfortable furniture, etc.. I...

Service Center - Rochester, NY: When? Where? Really?

I certainly don't disagree with you. I plan to try it, next time I need service. But would Tesla Corporate really be okay with operating a property like that? I think Tesla could spend 10 or 20k and significantly improve the location's look/curb appeal. I wonder what would happen if Elon...

Service Center - Rochester, NY: When? Where? Really?

Yeah, I was at Marketplace last weekend and just walked over to take a look. Mixed feelings about this.. It's hardly even marked. No signage, rundown unkempt building, dirty windows, broken glass in the 'parking lot'. Just one Tesla logo sticker on the door with a sign that says something...

Service Center - Rochester, NY: When? Where? Really?

They're bound to put a charger there then. I don't remember ever seeing a service center that didn't have a row of SCs. Sure would be awesome to travel to either mall and have a place to charge ;-)
  25. LMichel

Service Center - Rochester, NY: When? Where? Really?

I've seen some (dated) references to a center being built in Rochester. Does anyone have any current news to point to? I have to assume that it would be built in 'Dealership Row' on RT15 in Henrietta. There are plenty of vacancies. Maybe plans have been put on hold?

    “A Tesla! It’s a f*****g Tesla!”

I'm guessing you SC at the casino up there. I was charging at the Eastview mall SC (all by myself as usual) last September, some very sweet, senior citizen woman drove up to me sitting in my car. She obviously wanted to ask something. I got out and stepped to her window. I swear! She asked...

    “A Tesla! It’s a f*****g Tesla!”

My dashcam (BlackVue900) dumps still images to a server when I'm parked for the night. I flip through them - usually at breakfast. I lost count at the number of people that stop and just stand there looking at my MS. Even now they do it after two years of owning it. I live in (very) rural...

    Blackvue 900 dashcam video script

I absolutely love BigD0g's script. It opened up a whole new world for me - and I am NOT that technical.. I pull in the garage, the files dump to a server. Another script grabs screen shots of every 500th frame from the files and puts them in another folder. Media player constantly cycles...

Mine still sits disconnected in the car. I had it running for about a week, with the brakes only. So you're saying a new controller would work?

    Supercharging rates go WAY up!

Yes, you're in NYC. I've been to a few of those SCs. I've been to the Paramus NJ SC as well. Yep, had to wait to charge and when I did, I stayed right with my car and didn't stay a minute longer than needed... Now, take a ride out to my neck of the woods.. Buffalo, Finger Lakes, Syracuse...

    Supercharging rates go WAY up!

Have to agree with the detractors,..finally. I was very pro-Tesla. But the new SC rates will be the final nail. I suppose they could do an about-face, but I don't see it happening. First, I espoused the innovation of AP. then the competition caught up. Then I said - 'well, the updates...

    Supercharging rates go WAY up!

Where is my math incorrect? Let's say my nearest SC (NY State) charges $0.24/kWh. My S75D would take an empty-to-full charge of 75 X .24 (assuming that my charge took an hour at a rate of 75kWh. Which it does when waiting for every last watt before charging stops on its own) That's $18 and my...

    Idle fee at empty Supercharger?

Something seems to have taken place with computing the supercharger occupancy. I frequent Victor, Erwin, Waterloo and Buffalo NY SCs. Typically, I'm the only car there unless it's a peak charge time. However, while the app typically shows at least a car or two charging, when I arrive at that...

    Idle fee at empty Supercharger?

Upstate / Western New York Delivery

As sparse as Tesla is out here (I'm in Naples, NY) south of Rochester,Superchargers are still collecting improper idle fees. I was the only car in the Eastview mall SC and was hit up for an $18 idle fee. Just to be *absolutely* sure, I went through my dashcam and checked. Sure enough no other...

    IDLE Fees questions

I'm starting to see other improper SC idle fee threads starting to rapidly pop up on this forum. Here's the email thread from Tesla Support (in reverse chronological order) Fine, You send me the VINs that were in that location during that time and, if that turns out to be true, I will pay Tesla...

    Idle fee at empty Supercharger?

Yes, several of us are being charged even though the SC is under 50% capacity. Support denied my request to waive the fee. My dashcam has proof that no other cars were in the SC while I charged. I'm think about posting it on YT. I think a better idea might be to repeat the charge and have...

    IDLE Fees questions

My issue is that Tesla is charging me an idle fee when A) They state that they will only do so when the charger is 50% (or greater) occupied) and B) I will get a notification that I am approaching charge complete. Neither of those items took place. Essentially, Tesla is lying (yes, lying in...

    IDLE Fees questions

Yes you're right. Angry is a word. And I must admit, probably not a complete mischaracterization of how I felt yesterday. :-) Ok, a little calmed down now.. However, this really isn't something that Tesla should mess up. It's pretty serious stuff. If this happened to me, it would make...

    IDLE Fees questions

I had this problem as well today. Plus, it wasn't a drill this time. Tesla actually charged me. Or they want to... I too was the only vehicle at the station. I ran 36 minutes over. No warnings, no notifications, nothing. On my way home, I notice an email from Tesla that they want $18...

    Cars that you regret selling?

My Hummer H2. I've owned Corvettes, 350Z, BMW Z3 & M3, Restored Triumph Spitfire, AC Cobra kit car and a few others that escape me at the moment. The weirdest thing is how much more attention the H2 received over the other vehicles. Especially the 'female persuasion'!? They loved that...

    Chevy Volt dead

I wonder if Elon put even a small thought into acquiring the Volt and the factory most relevant to its build process? Why not buy the "gateway" car that put many of us onto Tesla vehicles?
  46. LMichel

Regen - Cold? Why don't they like each other?

It was described to me (from a Tesla Service Person) that a supercharger can provide significant energy to heat the battery and power the thermal management system at the same time. "No matter what, the battery will not accept energy unless it is between the low and high temperature" was his...

    Chevy Volt dead

I sold my Volt to get the last bit of cash to justify ordering my MS. I admit it; there are still things I miss about that car. Of course there was no range anxiety whatsoever. Now, on occasional trips, I sometimes have to be conscious of where superchargers are and plan accordingly. Range...

Elon is asking for what you'll like fixed

Easy. Just give me a tone or alert that the car locked as I walk away. Simple one! Bonus Points: Give me a configurable choice of a few tones to use as the alert. Super Bonus points: Let me provide an MP3 to use as the alert (up to a second or two..)

    Autopilot gone?

Anyone report having this issue on a bright sunny day? It seems that many of us are reporting the problem when driving in the rain. I had it for nearly a hundred miles, in steady rain and mostly darkness. I parked for almost an hour and drove a short distance and the problem was gone, but, so...

    Autopilot gone?

Yes, I had this issue (MS AP2 2017 75D) 42.2 at 6am ET for about 85 miles. I parked for about 45min and then did another short trip at 9:30am everything was back to normal.
