Master thread: Delivery / Service Issues (panel gaps, delivery delays / issues / Service problems etc)

I wouldn't expect a paint match problem on the fascia, especially for a new car. What you are hearing is a standard disclaimer. Tesla will swap in the new fascia in less than an hour, which is the great advantage of them doing that. BTW If you have the storage space, try to have them give you...

No roof over the Giga Austin car delivery storage lot?

Back in the day before they started putting bollards outside of the doors... A co-worker of mine drove his Porsche into the passenger terminal to avoid a hail storm

    2022.16.1.2 update is here

That line is so thin you can't see it at a glance
  4. M3BlueGeorgia

Unplug 14-50 Adapter or leave it plugged in all the time?

Don't do that The only reason to be unplugging the Mobile Connector from the wall socket is that you are going on a road trip.

    software update 2022.16.1.1

Since we got 16.1.1, the intermittent failure of the rear camera has stopped. 😃 (Mid-2018 Model 3) Now it works all the time, though that may still change. ☹️

My Model Y won’t charge at supercharger

    1) There are now 4 stalls available in Lubbock, V3 Supercharger. They need more, but 4 is a start. 3) The maximum amps you can get through the Mobile Connector is 32A. 4) Electrical standards limit actual amps to 80% of rated capacity, so 24A on a 14-30 or (obsolete)10-30 outlet. 5) No...

    Version 2022.16.x

Will it fix the intermittent problem of the backup camera on Model 3 on 2022.12 ?

Paint scratches from minor accident; claim worth it?

That's plastic under there, not no risk of rust. Cheap to fix

Working with my HOA to get L2 charging installed... advice on how to make it as cost-efficient as possible?

Is it possible to run electric sockets to many parking location, say 5-20 for 120v/20A. Rather than two high wattage stations that people have to share...

Serious Issue with our 2021 Model 3 - Reported to TSB

I think that it's just not a priority for them. IMHO Tesla are hoping that some incremental improvements will make the problem diminish to an acceptable level
  11. M3BlueGeorgia

How do we get Tesla to add a speed limiter feature

Still not sure I understand why you simply can't use TACC. If traffic is going slower than your set speed, that's the speed you go. If going faster, you don't go faster than the set speed. Really speed limiters are designed to ignore your attempts to manually accelerate faster than the set...

    End of warranty question

Those of us with 89K miles on a 2018 Model 3, say hi. 😀 Though I still have 30K miles left on the battery warranty.
  13. M3BlueGeorgia

will tesla replace your battery if it has degraded more than 20% over 2 years

EPA mileage range is how you and I can measure battery degradation. If and when you get down to 70% of original EPA range, you have the basis to go eye to eye with the Service Center staff with a non-arbitary measurement of battery capacity.
  14. M3BlueGeorgia

Air conditioning reduced - DC Fast Charging / Supercharging rate may be reduced

Battery warranty is longer than 4 years.
  15. M3BlueGeorgia

will tesla replace your battery if it has degraded more than 20% over 2 years

Charge to 90% and do some simple multiplication (by 1.1111) to get your EPA miles at 100% Losing 20% is high. How many miles do you have? Note: It's all to do with EPA miles. Your actual mileage experience is irrelevant.

    Birmingham, AL - Supercharger

See picture for charging experience at the new V3 Supercharger at the Buc-ees, Leeds, AL 👍😀👍😀
  17. M3BlueGeorgia

    Birmingham, AL - Supercharger

I believe the answer to your question was implied in his answer. Last time I charged there, they were working on the gate, and that was over a month ago, as now we've switched to using Leeds when charging in the Birmingham area.
  18. M3BlueGeorgia

Model Y pulls when changing lanes

They asked that because the problem was probably changing lanes without using your indicators. 😀😀😀
  19. M3BlueGeorgia

    Birmingham, AL - Supercharger

If heading East, there's the new V3 Supercharger in Leeds, AL at a Buc-ees.
  20. M3BlueGeorgia

    Supercharger - Leeds, AL

Weird experience while using this location yesterday. Initially plugged into an unmarked pedestal, but it wouldn't start charging Moved to a pedestal with the normal number/letter marking and charged at 250.

Serious Issue with our 2021 Model 3 - Reported to TSB

As said many times before, if your experience is bad, document a specific example, preferably supported by dashcam video, and sent in a report to the NTSB. That is the ONLY way this situation will get fixed.
  22. M3BlueGeorgia

Serious Issue with our 2021 Model 3 - Reported to TSB

BTW If you reported it to Tesla, but didn't report it to the NTSB, you really didn't report it.
  23. M3BlueGeorgia

Why so many Tesla’s in the span of a few years?

Some of the early Superchargers had J1772 plugs so Roadsters could charge there.
  24. M3BlueGeorgia

Why so many Tesla’s in the span of a few years?

We have a 2018 Model 3, and at some time in the near future we will replace it with a Model Y. Waiting on several things, one of which is to see th effect of 4680 batteries and Austin factory on the Model Y and it's configurations
  25. M3BlueGeorgia

Serious Issue with our 2021 Model 3 - Reported to TSB

IMHO: No evidence that this is viewed as a mission critical issue by Tesla.
  26. M3BlueGeorgia

Serious Issue with our 2021 Model 3 - Reported to TSB

If you are simply expecting a magical fix, don't. You need to report to your governmental authority, NTSB in the USA, each time it occurs.

TPM readings blank with one tire in yellow but pressure is fine

Is your complaint that you aren't getting tire pressure readings, even after driving for over a mile? There is (I think) an option to recalibrate TPMS. If that doesn't work, you may have to schedule a service appointment.

    High mileage check-in

More than the some risk to you, selling the car with 10+K miles left on the battery warranty is good sense and greatly reduces the risk for the buyer that they are "buying trouble". There's also an emotional buyer's issue about buying a vehicle with less than 100K miles.
  31. M3BlueGeorgia

    High mileage check-in

You must be spending a fortune on tires, given that the tires on the P variants are both expensive and quicker to wear out. 😱
  32. M3BlueGeorgia

Unplug 14-50 Adapter or leave it plugged in all the time?

We use 14-30 outlet and leave the Mobile Connector plugged into it, except when we go on a road trip. I could see using a switch or breaker to turn off the power when you have unplugged the Mobile Connector, but it'll get tedious to do it every time you want to charge the car.
  33. M3BlueGeorgia

Unplug 14-50 Adapter or leave it plugged in all the time?

Just leave it all connected to the wall until you go on a road trip.
  34. M3BlueGeorgia

Phantom braking in my new Model Y

So, have you reported this to the NTSB?
  35. M3BlueGeorgia

Phantom braking in my new Model Y

Have you reported to the NTSB ?
  36. M3BlueGeorgia

Any reason to choose NEMA 14-30 over NEMA 10-30. or vice-versa?

If you sell the property, the potential new owner might well force you to bring the electrics up to code. Might be better to update now, rather than have an ungrounded outlet.😃 An electrician is recommended.

BUG: 2022.4.5.3 doesn't remember USB source

See my early comment about the two workarounds which no longer work, as of 4.5
  38. M3BlueGeorgia

    2022.4.5.3

You can put a "USB source" icon on the screen.👍 The problem that arrived in 4.5, was the software no longer remembers what your prior audio source was. BUG😩 Also doesn't remember which song you were playing, though prior to 4.5 you often had to apply a workaround to force it to remember.
  39. M3BlueGeorgia

MY LR ordered in July 2021, estimated delivery date is now June 2022

As long as Tesla can sell out production, they don't suffer from people delaying delivery.
  40. M3BlueGeorgia

BUG: 2022.4.5.3 doesn't remember USB source

I'm well aware of the prior problem, and also the workarounds for the prior problem. They were: 1) Switch on climate before going to the car 2) If you forget to do #1 and the music doesn't start playing, get out of the car, see the screen go black, then get back in. After 4.5, both of these...
  41. M3BlueGeorgia

Questions about a used Model 3 (AP2.5 vs , upgrades, autopilot), I've never owned a Tesla!

You'll have AP2.5, not AP2. Model 3 shipped after Tesla switched over to AP2.5 One advantage of the FSD license is Tesla will upgrade your car to AP3. Just watch out for EAP, as occasionally Tesla makes it available. PS: You'll love it. 👍

Out of warranty repair price list?

$3500 ...for 25K miles. All those awful TV ads don't pay for themselves.
  43. M3BlueGeorgia

BUG: 2022.4.5.3 doesn't remember USB source

That is NOT TRUE. There is a new, more serious bug. If you don't understand what changed, then it is very counterproductive to suggest nothing changed.
  44. M3BlueGeorgia

    V11 2022.4.5 doesn't remember USB source

Additional problem with that rant filling up this thread is that it obscures a very real bug introduced with 2022.4.5, making it less likely Tesla will fix this bug. Basically, if you want a company to fix a bug, you need to define it carefully and be very specific.
  45. M3BlueGeorgia

BUG: 2022.4.5.3 doesn't remember USB source

Just checked and 4.5.3 doesn't remember the USB source and therefore doesn't remember which song was last playing. This bug was introduced with 2022.4.5.
  46. M3BlueGeorgia

    V11 2022.4.5 doesn't remember USB source

Nah We have a USB stick recording dashcam video, a USB stick with music and a wireless pad for charging two phones. All works.
  47. M3BlueGeorgia

Out of warranty repair price list?

Just had my upper front suspension arms replaced for $669. The bushings gave out at 86K miles. First major repair out of warranty. Model 3 bought July 2018
  48. M3BlueGeorgia

    V11 2022.4.5 doesn't remember USB source

My wife has a library of her favorite 1,200+ songs on a USB stick. 😃
  49. M3BlueGeorgia

    V11 2022.4.5 doesn't remember USB source

Yes, definite regression from Tesla on this release in the music subsystem. There were a couple of simple workarounds for the previous problem, including putting on the climate control before heading to the car. Nothing works anymore. We now have a hard failure. Seriously, doesn't anyone in...
