Remote S: Tesla app for Apple Watch, iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch

True, hours are not an SI unit, but seconds are, meaning that hours are what's known as a "derived SI unit". Similarly, my understanding is that both the joule and the watt are also derived SI units. A joule is the same as a newton/metre which in turn is defined in base SI units as...

Remote S: Tesla app for Apple Watch, iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch

Hi Allen, Ian from Sydney, Australia here, I just bought the app today ... it looks great although I have a couple of questions. The first is kind of serious, the second kind of isn't serious, I'm just curious :) 1 ... we use the metric system in Australia and the app generally displays...

"Fluid noise" from under glove box when turning right ?

OK, tests have been conducted today ... the noise definitely emanates from under/behind the glove box and it definitely sounds like fluid or like gas escaping under pressure. I've had a cursory look for drain holes and can't see any. I guess next step would be to open the maintenance hatch...

"Fluid noise" from under glove box when turning right ?

Thanks Paul, that's a great perspective ... we'll run some tests with back seat observers tomorrow ... we shall see

"Fluid noise" from under glove box when turning right ?

We've noticed something in the last week or so ... there's this weird noise that seems to emanate from under the glove box ... it only happens when turning right and now happens pretty reliably, with every right turn ... it sounds like fluid moving, or maybe gas escaping ? Is this something...

    7.0 in Australia

For medical reasons I'm not allowed to drive my baby for a little while, which is driving me crazy. I finally convinced my chauffeur (wife) this morning to turn on the features on the M2 this morning. TACC worked just fine as always but no blue lines appeared. Can someone confirm please...

    Mobile charging for Australia

Has anyone looked at these Trinity portable wind turbines on Kickstarter ? They have some inbuilt battery capacity and the 1kW and 2.5kW models can apparently just "plug back into your house's grid" ?? The idea of having a portable generator that normally generates power for home and can be...

Tesla/Telstra internet radio in Australia - options ? experiences ?

thanks everyone and amen to @doctorwho who summed it up perfectly ... I guess I will simply deal with what I have for now ... Rdio is still great compared to what most have access to, so I can't *sigh* too much ... :)

Companion EV for a Model S ? Nissan Leaf maybe ?

Agree, the Zoe looks promising but there's no word on when it might be available here in Oz

Companion EV for a Model S ? Nissan Leaf maybe ?

Hi all Thanks heaps to everyone for your input, this is where I've come to ... The trigger for this thread was servicing bill-shock on the Peugeot 207 HDi, which is 5 years old and cost $26K when new ... it has ~16K km on the clock and, whilst fuel costs are negligible, service costs have...

Tesla/Telstra internet radio in Australia - options ? experiences ?

Hi all ... another question, if I may ... Since driving my S85 (2 months now), I've become a bit addicted to the better sound quality of internet radio (specifically Rdio) over normal FM radio stations. It would be nice to have more features though. So ... Is it worth paying the...

The environment and our emissions - who cares?

Companion EV for a Model S ? Nissan Leaf maybe ?

Thanks, Keiron I too am suspicious of Peugeot now ... it was a fuel injector failure in January, followed by another one this week, hence my post. Latest bill included a charge of $136 for "Software Download" ... which apparently was to "get the computer going correctly" ... good grief...

Companion EV for a Model S ? Nissan Leaf maybe ?

Hi all ... have had a bad experience in the last little while with my wife's car, a Peugeot 207 HDI ... she only drives about 3000km per year and it's required more than $4K in service costs ... yep, more than $1 per km ... crazy It's got me thinking about whether there is a viable EV on the...

    Mobile charging for Australia

I just sent a note to Mitch and he confirmed that we will all receive one of these, in delivery order. They are currently in short supply so the expectation set for me (I got my model S a week ago) is May/June.

A couple of observations after one week behind the wheel of the Model S

Have noticed also that it's not good at picking up the lit variable speed signs on motorways like the M2 ... seems not to recognise them at all - - - Updated - - - And another observation ... if you have the Tesla app loaded on more than one phone then your other half can see exactly where you...

    Parallel Parking Implementation

The implication from the website is that this parallel parking feature is enabled in version 6.2 ... does anyone have any idea how you actually use it, ie turn it on ? ie "please parallel park here, now" ??

A couple of observations after one week behind the wheel of the Model S

Hi Folks ... a couple of things I've noticed, wondering whether others have noticed the same ... During the Sydney downpours last week I seemed to get lots of false-positive blind spot warnings ... it's almost as if the volume of rain was confusing the radars ? Sydney buses have a big 40km/h...

    List of confirmed Australian Orders

There's another one on the lower north shore now ... I picked up my S85 on Wednesday and the grin hasn't left my face ever since. It's dark blue with silver 19" cyclone wheels, tech package, air suspension, panorama roof, black nappa leather, carbon fibre detail ... rego is IS1463 in case you...
