Am I missing a clip or bolt under my TM3?

They are called push up rivets, used to bond plastic to plastic.

    Model 3 at Lease End

SlimJim, please keep us posted. I feel like I am in the same boat, we have an ICE car also. Remember, that when you lease you do not get the $7500 federal tax credit because you are not the owner of the car, you would have to purchase to get that.

    Model 3 at Lease End

Thanks JJ, sums it up well I have a little less than 2 years left on current lease so who knows where things will be then

    Model 3 at Lease End

That is a great idea. I have to wonder how long Tesla will let you delay and play this game

    Model 3 at Lease End

You are right and in normal times, I turn the car in, lease a new car. These are not normal times. I would actually consider buying the car, did not give this thought when signing the lease. Who knew used car prices with Covid issues would make the prices take off. In most leases the residual...

    Model 3 at Lease End

As we all know, there is no residual value/ lease buyout at the end of our lease. Normally I turn my leased vehicles in after 3 years and lease another car. New Tesla car prices are crazy. I priced my car today vs a little over a year ago when I leased it, cost is $11,000 more. That is a...

Car wash product recommendations please. Thank you.

Since contributing to this thread in July 2021, I have changed how I wash my cars. I decided to buy an electric pressure washer, 1700psi, and bought the MJCC foam cannon to attach. All I can say is wow! You get much more foam than the foam gun, and it done correctly the foam remains on the...

Recommendations for Tire Shop in San Jose/Silicon Valley Area?

Should be plenty of recommendations on this from previous posts. You could also order from Tirerack and have them delivered to a tire shop of your choice.

Tesla Model 3 crash | Oregon [is my car totaled / how can I get my car totaled]

In my personal opinion, the car is not totaled. If cost to repair is $10K and I think that is a low number, then it will not be totaled. However, if the frame is bent, then all bets off.

Would you take a demo with 67 miles?

OP Can you please post details of this car and where to buy it, I have a friend who wants to take you out of your misery and buy the car.
  16. W

Would you take a demo with 67 miles?

Are you for real? Keep waiting to buy the car and someone else will and then you will have learned a good lesson.

It has 67 miles on it, it is a new car, what discount?

do you really need a portable air compressor?

Pikeman, have you used this on your M3? Do you have the aero hub caps on the car? I tried a pump that is similar and could not lock the pump valve on the tire valve because the aero hubs blocked a good portion of the valve.
  21. W

do you really need a portable air compressor?

The bike pump works great, but not on a M3 with the aero hubs because the aero hub is covering part of the tire valve and you cannot lock the pump valve around it without take off the aero hubs. One poster recommended an extension piece, another part and more hassle.

Brand New Model 3 squeaking -HELP

Since your appt is a few weeks away, perhaps you could ask them to send a mobile tech visit who can lubricate the joints as a band aid in the mean time.
  23. W

do you really need a portable air compressor?

It’s a great idea until you have to attempt to put the pump valve on the car valve. It does not lock on because the aero wheel covers block most of the car’s valve. In order to do this, you need to remove the aero hubs each time. Kind of a pain. If you keep your phone in the car while your...

do you really need a portable air compressor?

There are tire compressors that work with the 12v adapter, the 12v battery, and both. I recommend the one’s that you connect in the car, what was once called the cigarette adapter. The trouble with hooking the unit up to the 12v car battery is that you have to remove some plastic pieces in the...

Buying used Model 3, new model 3 or Kia EV6

Appreciate your thoughts and opinion since as you stated none of us work for Tesla. I guess we will have to wait.

Buying used Model 3, new model 3 or Kia EV6

Let me restate my point given post above, it is not clear to me that on older M3’s they will disable the radar. If they do that, would we not have had a software update on it?
  27. W

do you really need a portable air compressor?

Fortunately, no flat tires, other threads have said the plug kit may not work due to the foam insert on the OEM tires.
  28. W

Buying used Model 3, new model 3 or Kia EV6

Not sure they are removing the radar on older models. I have heated steering wheel on my 2021 M3

    Mysterious screw

Looks like a "pop rivet". It is used to join plastic to plastic so look around for a hole where plastic attaches to other plastic in the trunk. When changing the cabin air filter, they are needed to be popped out. Maybe not, your pictures had threads on it.

do you really need a portable air compressor?

I have the Tesla one in my car, but I don't think they sell it anymore. Bought this for my wife's car: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MFBV5NM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&th=1

Tires at Costco for our Model 3

As a member of Costco I receive their monthly brochure. They advertise $150 off a set of 4 Michelin tires. Does anyone have experience buying tires for their EV from Costco and can they get the OEM Michelin tires (18”)?

    Model 3 concerns

Took delivery of my car in May 2021. About 2-3 weeks in a few caution notices on display, brought it to the service center near me, gave me a loaner, car back next day all fixed. Squeek in back seat, service center fixed. That is extent of my issues. Car runs great. So happy I do not have to...

    Quiet Tire replacement recommendation

I am clearly no expert on this subject but I have been following lots of posts of people wanting to replace worn tires. I have read post after post, plus numerous youtube videos and the bottom line is I still don’t know what to do. My car has 12K miles on it and the OEM Michelins still look...

Help me finalize color choice! Blue vs White vs Red

OP I see you live in Westchester, so your appt with the SC is in White Plains. The first time a traveling tech could not hear it, so when I went to make service appt the second time, it was called into the White Plains service center on 119. I think they do a good job, it took some detective...

Brand New Model 3 squeaking -HELP

Maybe it is not the upper control arms. I had the squeek problem, was not the upper control arms. Turned out it was some hinges that were rubbing in the back seat. The SC did the work, they found it and wrapped it with tape or insulation and the sound is gone.

Vendor Teslashields floor mats vs 3D Maxpider floor mats

Let me clarify and be fair, as I said above the mats are quite good and I made the right choice. As far as lead times, they were long but in all fairness out of the control of TS due to shipping problems from China and the bottleneck in the LA port.
  45. W

Vendor Teslashields floor mats vs 3D Maxpider floor mats

When I ordered last year the lead times for delivery were terrible and a moving target. But the mats are quite good.

Buying used Model 3, new model 3 or Kia EV6

I am not sure what you mean to look at the GM battery but I owned a Leaf for 3 years prior to my current M3 and besides having a 150 mile range on my car, the car was flawless.

    Model 3 Replacement Wiper Blades

Just ordered the WW blades from Tesla. I am sick of using 3rd party blades for my car that streak, chatter and don’t do the job. Looked at the youtube video how to do it, looks simple.

New Tesla Model 3 extended range locked me out, Tesla refused to help

OP I am sorry for your troubles, no matter whose fault it is, it is tough not getting into your car. Lesson Learned: ALWAYS carry the key card. The phone connects via bluetooth to the car and sometimes bluetooth fails. When I picked up my car for the first time, the person going over the...

Would a Tesla make sense as an apartment owner with shared L2 charging?

I might be ignorant or naive but the solution is simple. You post at the EV charging spot or every tenant is notified by bulletin/email of the rules…….we offer free charging but you have to move your car when it is done charging. The OP talks about people in his complex who already charge...
