I think the sentry mode screen only shows when there is a potential threat, like standing too close. That will not activate if you have your key/phone on you.

I don't think anyone really knows. Calabasas was approved years ago, permits issued, and equipment moved on site. Then... nothing. After an extended time, the Tesla equipment was removed, and this site was considered dead. Once revived, things moved pretty quickly.
