The latest TMC Podcast (#14) is now available on YouTube and all major podcast networks. We covered FSD Beta's exciting v11 update, Enhanced Autopilot coming to the U.S. and Canada, and more!
I haven't found any other discussion about performance in Seattle. I'd hoped more people would contribute to the thread. I'm still testing and overall have seen steady improvement. I still am selective of where I trust it to drive and switch it off down town. My biggest problems with it...
I came across this site in my twitter feed and expected to see something about it on TMC. It looks interesting and I signed up to provide some data. I like how it is categorizing disengagements as they definitely are not all the same severity. What do you all think? If the owner of the page...
I talked to them today and they said they hadn't received any for a couple of months and then received a shipment this week that all failed Quality checks (flaws with the clear coat) and had to be sent back. They thought it could be at least a 6 month wait so I decided to cancel and look for...
Yes. Didn't work. It might have been that I didn't leave the painters tape on long enough to hold it in place while the 3m VBH tape cured - I only had it taped down for a day. At any rate, I've ordered an Unplugged Performance spoiler and I also got some of the 3m 06396 adhesion promoter that...
For those of you with the factory towing package, does it show up when you look at the vehicle details on the app or on the website? Mine doesn't. Seems odd that all of the other options show up.
Yeah, I'd definitely go for another higher trim level. I hate having the slowest Tesla :p. Since we're dreaming, what I'd really like is a model Y plaid with <3 sec 0-60, air suspension, Model X windshield, and dual displays like the X and S.
Does anyone have the Unplugged Performance spoiler? After my 4th tesla replacement, I decided to try something different. When I placed the order a few weeks ago, it appeared to be in stock (the Koenigsegg version explicitly said it was out of stock so i thought this one was good to go) but...
I pulled mine off to replace is this weekend. I was amazed at how little of the spoiler is actually making contact with the car. Look at how much adhesive is untouched. It was a bit of a pain to remove the old adhesive but with some goo gone and plastic trim tools to carefully scrape I was...
You've got the car on jacks right? While I think you can gain access with the wheels turned, with the full weight of the car on them, I don't think you can adjust them.
Very true. My point is can anyone drive coast to coast with FSD today? Absolutely not. Could Tesla carefully orchestrate a controlled coast to coast drive? Probably. The number of conditions they would need to control to be successful might result in the accomplishment being perceived...
I actually think they could do a cross county trip today. They could selectively plan a route that would be mostly interstate where FSD/AP excels. A few exits & entrances to get to chargers and if you had a few backup/surrounding cars to capture video footage, you could use them to...
We both have full FSD. I'm in the beta (yes, I know we have different SW). Driving around at night, both cars behaved the same. They changed lanes, identified surrounding cars etc. There was no obvious difference. Did we test ever possible condition? Of course not. There is no reason to...
So your choice is to turn the feature off and continue to use your car as delivered, turn it on and live with the glare (or fix it yourself if your adventurous), or buy new cameras.
I have a 2020 Y with the old cameras. I have the glare. I have FSDBeta and it works fine. AP works fine. All of the talk about it *must* affect self driving is simply a guess. The cameras have been this way for years. If it was an issue, it would have been immediately apparent to Tesla...
It's not a design defect because at the time it was designed, delivered, and used in cars, the holes in the PCB didn't matter. There was no blind spot camera feature and FSD & AP all work fine. The only way it would be a design defect is if it happened on a car that was delivered with V11.
@sleepydoc - Please don't buy the coilovers. I don't think you will be happy. On the MPP thread, it is people who liked their car and wanted a little more comfort, to lower it, or to have ability to make adjustments. I don't know of anyone who hated the car the way you do that installed them...
Any chance you had another phone in the car at your in-laws? This always happens to me. I'll be driving with my wife and we both have our phone paired to the car. We get to the store and she leaves her phone in the car since I have mine and as a result, the car doesn't lock.
Isn't this how all of the releases were supposed to go? Slow roll out, look for issues. If none found, continue. If something is discovered, stop and wait for the next release. I think the slow pace of the last few is the norm and the anomaly was the rapid 2 week pace of the first few...
#3 does not exist. The FSD package has always included other little things like summon or lane change etc. that customers got. You can argue if those features alone are worth the price paid but it is not correct to say the spent money and got absolutely nothing for it.
Has anyone had success removing their spoiler without damage and re-applying it with stronger adhesive? Last time I was at the service center, I asked about it and they said when they have to replace them, they don't try to save the old one, just break it and pull it off. That seems like a...
The problem with so many people is they try to make a blanket "it works awesome" or "it sucks and tried to kill me" statements. Its way to complex for that. In many scenarios, it works perfectly and is much safer than humans. In others it fails miserably and will crash unless the driver...
I've had something similar but my reaction was to simply say wow car, you screwed up. That's a new regression. Because I'm paying attention at all times and always holding the wheel, I caught it IMMEDIATLY and even though it was a stupid move, there was zero risk of killing me. I calmly hit...
I use these mud flaps from Nansure that I got on Amazon. You can see from the first picture they are much shorter than the factory ones (factory left, Nansure right) BUT they are hard plastic and don't flex. I still hit them on occasion on some speed bumps and when I do, they break (which is...
Thanks for the summary. I had that question when I was evaluating MPP or Unplugged coilovers. The Unplugged had Teflon rings and I wondered why the MPP didn't and asked Jesse and he replied it wasn't needed but didn't go into details. I figured I would just follow the instructions to the...
I wonder if multiple adjustments in the same direction of the spring perch could cause this? You'd be "twisting" the spring a bit? I haven't experienced this but I've adjusted my car up and down.
For the fonts, I put the car on jack stands, remove the wheels, loosen the set screws on the spring perches, and use the MPP wrench. They are a little hard to turn but it's not too bad. For the rear, I remove the wheels and drop the control arm and remove the perch from the spring. It's...
Meh, I don't ever see an end to this. It doesn't matter if Tesla brings out a dynamic suspension or air ride etc. Someone who buys a car and then complains about it after will always find something they don't like. If it's not the ride, it will be the media system, or some other thing. I...
I can understand how that would be frustrating. I try to look at it as a "glass is half full" kind of thing and enjoy seeing new features arrive on my cars. I enjoy getting things earlier with the knowledge they may not be perfect. The constant software updates is one of the things I like...
