MASTER THREAD: Comprehensive Road-Course Modification Guide — Optimizing the 3 for the track

I thought G-LOC and Carbotech uses the same compound? R10 = XP10 and etc. Currently I am running XP8 in the rear of my car for both daily and track and while their bite on high speed track is lacking, they don't overheat easily and only has low growl noise when it's cold on the street. As for...

MPP compression rod and control arm bearings.

MPP compression rod bearing is like one of the best kept secret. If you drive the car on track or at the edge of traction, you'll appreciate what it does. It adds no NVH for me on street tires but when on track with 305 Supercar 3R tires, you can feel the night and day difference. The best way...

MASTER THREAD: Comprehensive Road-Course Modification Guide — Optimizing the 3 for the track

I pretty much did all the upgrade incrementally and this is the order I would suggest. All MPP part unless otherwise stated. 1. Track oriented Brake pads, fluids. OEM pads are OK for driving but not for track or hard driving unless you don't use a lot of brake. If budget allows, 2 piece rotors...

MPP Comfort Coilovers - Do I need additional parts?

I would drop at about 1 inch first and see how you like it. At 1 inch drop you don't really need camber arms.

    MPP Coilovers

You can always ask your local group for a test ride. Personally I vote for the MPP Sport as the softest setting it's very compliant and stiffest setting is track worthy. Everyone that I've given a ride at the soft setting loved it and bought one. Even my wife who's not a car person commented...

    UP vs MPP Coilover

40k+ road miles and 30+ track day on MPP sport and so far still performing really well without any noise from the shocks. So far I have bent 4 wheels (1 forged racing wheel) from going off track yet these damper still holding up really well.

I guess depends on the autox course. I was just referring to my experience on various tracks that has sufficient straights to cool off the brakes.

No need for hub centric wheels as long as you torque down the wheel in star pattern. I've done it with Konig, WedsSport, Volks, generic flow forms.

depends on if you have a specific class you want to run. If just HPDE without restriction, 18x9.5 +35 will fit without modification. If are lowered, has additional negative camber (-2.7 or lower in front and -2.5 in rear), you should be able to run 18x10.5 +25.

The quest for wider wheels and tires, 295, 305 and beyond...

Performance rotor hat is around 4mm thinner than non performance. AP hat is about same thickness as non performance and MPP 2 piece rotor hat is about 0.5mm to 1mm thicker than AP hat.

My 2021 M3P slow upgrade [mod] documentation.

MPP has super sport spring that can be paired with rear spring arm that would give ~50% stiffer spring rate. Only thing I am not sure is if the KW v3 has enough rebound to control the stiffer spring rate.

Carbotech is known to squeal. The most quiet track pads I have used is Endless EX90 with Cobalt XR2 a close second. EX90 is basically noiseless and XR2 will have a tiny bit squeak every now and then. Don't get the RB 2pc kit. MPP Page Mill Performance Rear Rotors | Mountain Pass Performance is...

For sale are a set of 4 Tesla Model 3 19" Sport wheels and CINTURATO P7 ALL SEASON PLUS II like new with TPMS. The wheels are in really good condition, no curb rash, I would rate it 9/10. Tires were installed new this year with minimal usage due to covid19. These are one of the most comfortable...

I may add sway bars in the future. Not a ton of rapid transition in road course compare to autox so sway bar isn't high on the priority. As for alignment, 0 front toe, -3 front camber. +0.2 degree rear toe in and around -2.5 camber. I don't think this is the fastest setting but it's pretty easy...

I think the Nankang AR1 is better for longer run time ( more than 20 mins) as they don't get greasy and do not have accelerated wear when you are pushing them pass the limit. However, they do seem to get heat cycled out before all the treads are gone and grip suffers. They also have narrower...

Q: How much should I offset 4x Wheel sale for 1 curbed rim?

Depends on how much it cost to repair rash in your area. For example, my area it cost $150 a wheel. So I might discount $100 to $130 a wheel.

MASTER THREAD: Comprehensive Road-Course Modification Guide — Optimizing the 3 for the track

I just got to tried the XR2 rear for one session and it offers a lot more bit than the Endless EX90. It is a much better pairing with the Endless N05U I have at the front. I am not sure how streetable the XR2 will be as they are new to me but they are great on the track. Endless EX90 (went...

    Track day at Thunderhill West

some people say it's the same compound as RSR but better tread design so it's not so noisy. I have not used neither so I don't know the grip level.
  38. M

    Track day at Thunderhill West

18x9.5 you can do 255/40/18 A052 or RE-71r if you want a quicker tire without breaking the bank. 265/40/18 RS-PRO would be a tier down but more saving.
  39. M

    Track day at Thunderhill West

Yeah, if you're running 9.5 wheel, go with rs-pro, if you're running 10.5 or more wheel, go with Sur4g. Just remember Sur4g likes high PSI than most TW200 tires.
  40. M

    Track day at Thunderhill West

You should try the Sur4g again on a much wider wheel and higher psi. The first time I use them it was with 18x9.5 and thought they were just OK with too much sidewall flex. However, this time I am using 18x10.5 front and 18x11 rear with 38 cold psi and the difference is night and day. More grip...
  41. M

    Track day at Thunderhill West

Sur4g is faster. NT01 takes too long to warm up. By the time it warms up, the car is already pulling power or your SOC is below 70% and you lose performance. However, if you want a tire that wears well and has decent grip, NT01 is the choice.
