Model YP Delivery: Breakdown after 4 Days- What to do?

I may be a shareholder, by my objectivity isn't compromised. I call Tesla out for things that they do wrong. For example how they are handling the PCS failures in some Model 3s. I have encouraged people to file arbitration claims against Tesla because they should be covering it under the battery...

Model YP Delivery: Breakdown after 4 Days- What to do?

That may generally be true for ICE vehicles, but I don't think it applies to Teslas. They will likely use a factory fresh drive unit. I doubt anything is going to show up on Carfax. I have never seen Tesla report anything to them.

Model YP Delivery: Breakdown after 4 Days- What to do?

It doesn't really matter what your preference is, the only thing you are owed is for them to repair it. (And what is to say that the next one wouldn't have even more problems?) Not to mention if you purchased via a loan/lease having to unwind the whole transaction and apply for financing again...

How do you order a "Made in Austin" Model Y?

You can check inventory to see if one is available to purchase, but you can't specifically order one at this time.

Model Y LR built in Giga Austin!!

They are using self-piercing rivets to put the top on the battery. So no just opening it up and then closing it back up. (Which I think you can do on the 2170 based Model 3/Y packs.) It will be interesting to see how destructive it is to get the top off.

Model Y bumpy ride "Rear Spring replacement"

There are 8 different spring part numbers and 5 different damper part numbers. (The rear suspension is not a strut/spring assembly, they are separate.) Some of them I can figure out what they go to, the Performance or RWD variant, others I have no idea: Dampers: Springs: In some cases...

Driving through water tore off my rear bumper, AC system now hot until I start driving

Yes, it is. For the water to have caused damage to the radiator/fan I think it would have needed to be way deeper than 3 inches.. (At three inches only your tires would have contacted the puddle.) Or you were going way faster than 35 MPH. Most likely it was 6-9" deep. And yeah, fording that...

Recell: certified replacement battery packs for low-range/bricked Model S

It looks like a shop in Norway is going to start battery repairs, and it sounds like part of what they are doing is making tools/procedures available for others. It will be interesting to see if they actually show what they do to repair packs.

2022 Model 3 SR LFP Supercharging speed

I don't think any third party CCS chargers can supply 250kW to a Tesla. (The Tesla voltage is too low for the number of amps the CCS chargers are capable of.) Some can provide ~200 kW, but in the end it isn't really much slower, unless you need a really short charge, since the ramp down takes...

Wiki FSD’s Earliest Adopters Still Waiting

Not likely given the rest of that paragraph, taken from: Full Self-Driving Computer Installations: They make it pretty clear that the subscription doesn't get free upgrades. And the way it is worded I would think that applies to the camera upgrades as well.

Any way to display the wind (and other data) used to estimate trip battery consumption?

Who says the car has the data? It could all be done on the Tesla servers. TeslaWaze shows wind data... There is also a TeslaWinds site.

Wiki FSD’s Earliest Adopters Still Waiting

I stunt think we know. They wouldn't give a complimentary upgrade to the FSD computer. In fact you couldn't subscribe until you paid for the upgrade. I wouldn't be surprised if any needed upgrades have to be paid for with the subscription.

Electrify America is CHEAPER than Superchargers in TN and GA, and some parts of Florida

I think they specifically exclude the prices on the web site, just like they don't put usage data on it. Probably for competive reasons.

Please Help... Tesla Model S: Maximum battery charge level reduced (cannot get past 20 miles)

Take a look at this post it explains some of the issues. In short, if a pack has a bad cell/module it can't be repaired. It is broken down and the good parts are sold for other purposes, like solar storage.

    CCS Adapter - ?

2013 Model S sudden battery failure

I suspect so. The main issue being that the modules are higher voltage and requires safety equipment/procedures to work with them. The old 24 volt Model S modules were perfect for pairing to 48 volt and using for solar storage. (If I recall correctly anything under 50v is considered low voltage...

Traction Control, Regen, TACC, Lane Change Warning DEAD Every Trip > 70 MPH

Technically Tesla could deny warranty coverage for that because you didn't report it in a timely manner... Though I could only see them doing that if the delay has caused additional damage.

Front vs. back charging? Big impact on towing horses.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Nothing in my post is inaccurate. I said I consider it FUD, which I do. The sites claims to be official, it isn't. It claims the feature is in the release, it isn't... (At least to the general public it isn't which they have added conditions to since they originally reported the feature.) It...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I consider that site FUD, it claims to be official but it isn't. That feature has not been released to any public cars. And may not ever be. They often report features that haven't been released. Usually based on Green's hacking in to the firmware, which isn't always accurate.

First the Austin Y is not a SR. (It is the AWD with more range, premium interior, and dual motors.) Second, it isn't on menu, as you can't order one. (If you have an order for a LR you might get offered an Austin AWD model.)

    Salvage Car Owners Support Group.

Given the software update required errors, that likely means you replaced some electronics. So you need to get into service mode and redeploy the firmware before you have any chance of getting further. I don't know if T-CAN can do that or not. (You might have to tow it to your nearest service...

    FSD Beta for MCU1 cars

Just look at cell phones where they barely support them for 2 years after they sell them. So I really doubt there is any requirement to support products for 7 years after the last sale. Superchargers in Southern California (location speculation)

@rxlawdude I think you need to be careful there. You say $0.60/kWh is multiples of utility rates. But is it really? I don't think so. Take me for example, people say Oregon has some of the cheapest rates, we do, but they tend to quote the energy cost which is $0.07/kWh. They forget to include...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Tesla normally gives you 3 days from when they notify you to take delivery or they give the car to someone else. (And if you don't schedule a time in that 3 day window within 24 hours they give it to someone else...) Being EOQ they probably asked if they could get financing resolved by EOD, and...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Tesla's patent pledge has a "poison pill": So yes, it means they have to open their patents to anyone using them for EV purposes. But that still has nothing to do with allowing others to use the Superchargers. Even if you have license to use their patents you wouldn't have license to use...

A dilemma about a Ford Mustang Mach E on Order - What would you do?

I've heard that someone had the software fix applied to their Mach-E and then it suffered the failure later. So the software fix doesn't actually fix it. (No surprise there.) If it was me, I would cancel the Mach-E order and get a Tesla. But I never really liked the Mach-E to begin with.

infotainment update price change - now $1750?

The price seems to have gone up. $1,750 for AP0/AP1/AP3 vehicles, $2,250 for AP2/AP2.5 vehicles: Infotainment Upgrade Of course it has been out of stock for months, though I heard it should be in stock any day now... @wk057 any update on your order? Or did you give up and do it yourself...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Opening the patents isn't the same thing as offering other OEMs the ability to use the Superchargers. Those are separate issues. All Elon ever said about opening the Supercharger network was that other OEMs could use the Superchargers but they would have to pay their fair share of the...

Limited Time: 100 kWh Battery Upgrade (S/X), Ludicrous+ Capable, 2 Year Warranty

Yeah, I would expect that to be the case. As packs fail, or are taken out of commission by accidents, the pool of available packs is getting smaller every day. Is Tesla even making any packs compatible with the older Model S/X anymore? (Can you put the new 5 module refresh pack in a "legacy" S/X?)

They were at 159.5k at the end of last year, the most current reporting I can find, and have probably sold close to 20k so far this year. So they only have a few months left before they will likely reach the limit and start the phase out period. Edit: This source shows Ford at ~195k: Of...

    Pre-Pay Payments with Tesla Finance?

My current mortgage allows me to pre-pay future payments, but not as a lump sum. Any amount I send in is applied to the next due payment, with the excess going towards principal. In fact I have done this, since there was no payment due for the first two months after I refinanced, but I sent...
