Seriously, why does Elon feel the need to lie about even short-term fsd beta timelines.

Mike Birbiglia hates you. I used to think I was an early person, but I've realized that I'm an early person only when I feel a high cost of being late. Otherwise it varies a bit.

Seriously, why does Elon feel the need to lie about even short-term fsd beta timelines.

Why start now? He's been making stuff up for years whenever he feels it's beneficial. FSD is a money sink if people don't pay for it, it's mostly a software switch to enable it, and the value of Tesla depends heavily on it. So, yes, he's going to oversell it.

The savings from daily driving a Cheapo car vs new Model 3 devaluation

Public transportation?! Did you look up where they live? It's fine to try to find value. But, personally, I think that you should extract as much use out of an EV as soon as you can, because manufacturers both want to control access to their software, and ditch older battery technology as...

Puerto Rico wants to tax people for Solar generation

(perhaps) half of solar and wind energy production should go towards hydrogen production

Yes, but as @nwdiver keeps saying, renewables are a way to use less fossil fuel and we're nowhere near "whole renewable". So just build cheap backup. That they didn't was their mistake. Hydrogen from catalyzed electrolysis is _a_ way to use the excess, and given that we need hydrogen anyway...

Because then they have control of it. It's China, if they can control it, they will. EVGo 50kW here often have reported failures. But I do wonder how much is that there's only 1 charger, so if it doesn't work people can't try another/the other stall. So that gets reported to EVGo and...

    Economic reality trumps Greta ?

Depending on how energetic and leaky the distribution of natural gas is, running coal plants can be no worse than or better than NG for CO2e emissions. So, I'm not really concerned about it. What matters more is what they're doing for adding renewable capacity.

Ford no longer allows purchase at end of lease for EVs

In the UK, before COVID hit, used PEV prices were already increasing. Oil/gas companies are already looking at green hydrogen from offshore wind farms.
