Reminds me of a time when I could drive to the store and leave my keys in the ignition, and no one ever bothered the car or tried to get in it. Lots of people did it in our small town. Obviously, that was LONG ago.

It's not supposed to use the stop sign as a reference for where to actually stop. It uses a reference to the intersection or to the horizontal line on the road (if it is there). So where does the car stop relative to those indicators (not the stop sign).

I guess I should be more lucid by saying up here in this elevation, it seems to be either perfectly clear with no clouds or there are clouds covering everything. I don't often see the edge effect with those beautiful puffy clouds like you get down there.

Hi J, good to see you here again. Yup, I used to see that "Cloud Edge Effect" on my house in San Ramon. Sometimes it would increase the average output by 10% or more. I don't see it so much up here. Thanks for the graph.

You might want to clarify what "Bay Area" you are referring to ? Seems like folks think you are talking about the San Francisco area, yet I know a lot of bay areas in the USA. :)

That's not the reason he said it. That's more of a side-effect of charging to 100%. The real reason is to maintain better battery health by not doing it regularly. :)

For me, I absolutely completely disagree. You've had the car for a day so likely never taken a long trip. I've taken my MX across the USA and back 6 times in the last 5 years and it was a fabulous experience. You need to take more time with the car to understand it :)

Well, you are replying to a quote from over 5 years ago, so that's why it is hard. The car worked a lot differently back then. These days we have Dog mode and other ways to keep on the AC/heat as you may know. :)

Read his post again. You are misunderstanding. RIGHT, AP will still go straight and will not turn left when you signal. What he is saying is that it will change lanes when you put on the signal, but that is it.

Bummer. Actually I do love Tesla service in my area, but yeah, I understand it sucks in many locations. I've had great experiences in the few times I've wanted to have them do something. Hoping it gets better for you.

I'm guessing he has ignored you by now, based on his comment. The answer to your question is that the car isn't going to make turns in AP (without using FSD). However, if you use NAP by plugging in a destination then it does take the offramps at the proper time.

yes, I would go a bit further and even eliminate the word "Autopilot". I'd use other terminology like "Assisted Driving" or some other phrase that doesn't imply the car is going to do everything for me without monitoring from me.

I didn't interpret his comment the way you did. The way I read it, he is saying the mistakes of the car missing the exit is not due to FSD computer software. It is due to the navigation data being fed to it, and that can be corrected without changing FSD software. Maybe I misunderstood as...

One of my high school friends drove long haul big rigs for 30 years and retired. Says he would never consider doing it under the current conditions.... meaning gas prices, high pressure to deliver fast and spend more time away from home, etc.
