    Just received this warranty email

Probably telling us to take a hike. I wonder if I can get my service center to update my invoice to include the keyword. It is sort of annoying that they lock you out and declare that we do not qualify.

    Just received this warranty email

Because my invoice didn't say eMMC or whatever, the software automatically rejects my claim for reimbursement. My only option to get their attention was to check the box that says the repair was made outside of Tesla. That allowed me to upload my invoice and tell them the cost of the invoice. We...

How reflective is that stainless steel finish going to be

I was wondering how blinding the stainless is going to be, especially for people in sunny states like Fl and Az? I might get mine wrapped just to avert blinding everyone if this indeed is an issue. BTW, I do want to see the cybertruck in person before pulling the trigger, and I'd like to see it...

    Supercharger - College Station, TX

On campus does seem to be crazy. Yet more traffic? And an 800,000 price tag, is that typical? I'm also wondering why it took so long for College Station to get on the map...

Can I make it from Page AZ to Blanding UT Superchargers this weekend?

I think you'll make it just fine if you keep your speed in check. The bicycle route on google maps (Thanks KJD!) says you'll gain 1800 ft elevation regardless of which route you take. I'd go through monument valley. I tried "A better route planner" but it doesn't show the elevation change...

Can I make it from Page AZ to Blanding UT Superchargers this weekend?

Where are you starting from and what is your normal range? Driving slower than the limit by 5 mph can add a decent amount of range.

Sadly no, at least that is my experience. If it keeps it up, then report it. Hopefully there is an update to the firmware that will make your problem go away.

    Just received this warranty email

I just checked with the service department in person. There was actually a person sitting at a desk ready to talk to me! Big improvement from a year ago. He pulled up my service record and told me my repair was for the MCU unit (Oct 2019), and that my car was on the list to get the unit...

I'm going to step into my service center and have the guys pull up my repair from Oct 2019 and see what they wrote. I'll copy that repair number in with my application.

I had to pay about 2k to replace a dead screen a couple of yrs ago. They put in a refurbished unit. The screen will now sometimes take 10 minutes to wake up after I have driven the car about 8 miles, parked to run into a store, and come back out - a 10 minute excursion between driving the car...

    Coronavirus

Fortunately/Unfortunately, I think there will be an oversupply of vaccine doses in the US after we get through the eager beavers lining up in this early stage. Once we get through that group (myself included as I got my 2nd shot 3 days ago), I think the demand in the US will fall off a cliff...

Your Top 5 Anticipated Supercharger Locations

Some of our road trip barren stretches will most likely result in SCs with low average kWh/day dispensed. I would really be interested to see what the daily averages are for the various SC stations. Averaged over a year with all stalls contributing to the numbers. And then for icing on the cake...

Or if the hotel in Tuba City upgraded from an L2 to an SC, that would help, but I don't think that would increase their business. I'm not sure the L2 does either.

Eastern NM and Western Texas have a handful of holes. As well as Eastern Az. Globe, Showlow, Eager/Greer, Kayenta for me please. Supercharger - Kayenta, AZ

It could be that this generation of chargers is going to become obsolete in the next 2 yrs and they don't want to build out too many of them with this generation. What if they had build 1000 SCs with the old 120 kW max? Having said that, it would be interesting to know their budgeting logic...

Like others have said, if you have ever been to a crowded Ca supercharger, it is not a happy experience. I'm not ready to upgrade the S85D yet, but the S60 is longer in the tooth than the 85. Time to treat yourself? Life is short - have fun? Just trying to offer silver linings. It does suck that...

Petition for a Supercharger in the Phoenix-East Valley area

I bought an adapter that fits into the old style clothes dryer 220 V outlet. I also have one for the new style. These outlets have solved my "where do I charge other than 110V" issue more than once.

Well, the raising of the FSD price tag, coupled with 1,000s of people using the system should reveal loud complaints if the system doesn't live up to that $10 k price tag. If it is still in Beta 6 months from now, that would be bad news. Time will tell, and the time is not an indefinite number...

Blog Musk Touts 'Quantum Leap" in Full Self-Driving Performance

Well, I hope both approaches succeed. One may come out sooner, but I sure hope both succeed as opposed to hoping that both fail, or cheering for one at the demise of the other. Of course, I like Tesla cars but don't have one with recent hardware, so I'm cheering for both of them as someday I...

I do see a handful of them. I probably see more Teslas now than Waymos. I think there is always a human sitting behind the wheel, so I never know how much intervention is needed. I've never ridden in one either. They have not caused any traffic issues in the cases when I've seen them - not much...

Blog Musk Touts 'Quantum Leap" in Full Self-Driving Performance

Since it is a beta, and updates are being issued to decrease the number of interventions, that would indicate that it is not FSD at the moment. Calling it a beta, conveys the risks of the code only to a small percentage of the Tesla's owners - definitely my opinion here as I have zero data, and...

Upping the price to $10K for the feature - I would think this only happened when Tesla became very confident in its performance. It would be nice if there were a price for robo taxis and a price for the non-commercial use of the technology. My model S is a 2015 and at the time of purchase, there...

    VW will trample tesla

I would be leary of buying anything in its first production year. Even if they get it right, more improvements will be implemented during that learning year. Or maybe 18 months. Tesla or VW. In an odd way, I feel nostalgic for Yuma SC. It was not ideal, but it was there for us in the early days. I agree with you on Tacna, it is making Yuma obsolete.

    Strategy on Long Drive

Agreed, I always look at the suggested route and then see if it makes sense or if I want to do something different. For significantly long trips, I use one or two of the alternative route planners and force stops to see how my modifications pan out, then pick and choose. And of course, one can...

    paint shop in Tempe

Yes - that was it. Everyone said they were amazing at matching colors of repaired sections to the rest of the car. I had a repair done and the color was exact as far as I could tell. Now the question is will they paint a car without removing any of the parts.

    Tesla moments

At this point, I'm only considering Teslas. My 5 yr old Model S is a little more primitive than the current version, but I'm hoping in 5 more years, it will be grossly primitive compared to new ones off the line, and I will deem it necessary to upgrade. Then again, if I get a Cyber Truck in...
