Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

If you absolutely want to destroy the battery, can you hit 350 kW or has Porsche backed away from that claim? I can't find an newer update than this (undated?) Porsche press release on the Taycan. "In the pilot cities of Shanghai, Beijing, Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya and London, Porsche Charging...

Just a reminder that ARK's price target from Jan 31, 2020 (Tesla’s Potential Trajectory During the Next Five Years) had an Expected Value of $1,400 in 2024 ($7K pre-split). While we all wait for ARK to update their price target, it is worth noting that Cathie was featured on a Market Rebellion...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

ARK's Jan 2020 model had a bull prediction of $15K pre-split. The numbers in my post were already adjusted to the current post-split numbers. FWIW, with Gene Munster stating $2,500 by the end of 2023 that puts him right there with ARK's 2024 bull scenario ($15,000 pre-split, $3,000 post-split). Ex:

Cathie Wood was featured on Market Rebellion on Oct 13. The full video appears to be inaccessible now (linked in this Twitter post), but in it she said TSLA would experience about 45% compound annual growth rate through 2025 which (by my calculation using the share price on that day) puts her...

As a TSLA long, I have always planned to hold for years. It was a test of faith at and below $200 and it became very hard for me to separate short-term TSLA gyrations from the long-term prospects of Tesla. Now that we're far above those prices I have no idea if today's price of TSLA is an...

Model 3 as a high mileage commuter car?

You can certainly plug in to charge if there is a charging location convenient to where you are going. In an earlier post you said 80-100 miles per day. That is well within the range of a LR AWD Model 3 even assuming you'd set the charge limit to 80%, enable cabin overheat protection, and turn...

It will be interesting to see if this section of I95 in Philly (my highlighting in yellow) remains off the Supercruise map while construction on the roadway is underway. Model 3 as a high mileage commuter car?

Yes, but it requires little to no intervention on highways. That's how it reduces the stress of my daily commute. I frankly don't typically use AP on secondary roads for the most part.

Model 3 as a high mileage commuter car?

What % of that driving is on highways? I'm asking because my daily commute is about 40 miles round trip. Once I got the Model 3, I decided to take the slightly longer version of that commute since it allows me to use AP on the middle section (longest part of my drive both by distance and time)...

And don't drive on a highway where there is construction. At least I assume that's the reason that chunks of I95 are missing from Super Cruise near Philadelphia. I've been using AP through that area of 95 since shortly after v9 software was released. This type of construction lasts years...

Poll: LR battery degradation @ 3k miles

I never got the mythical bump to 325 so I still consider 310 as 100%. Can't really degrade from something you never had. The "High" and "Current" range numbers are estimates from Teslafi. Fwiw, my lifetime efficiency is a little over 220 Wh/Mile.

Phantom braking is the biggest issue with AutoPilot.

1 & 2 I can anticipate and be ready to react. For 3, I've had it break for an overpass during my commute one day and then be fine another day with (seemingly) identical conditions. I fear for the day when I'm manually accelerating to override "phantom braking" and AP is actually detecting a...

I person once told me that the answer to any question you never ask is "no". So at least you have a chance of making some non-zero impact. Edit: I always make it a point to contact companies / hotels that host destination and Superchargers to let them know that I patronize them because of it.
