what's needed to plug the mobile charger into 220?

Yes, assuming you have a receptacle that has the notch on the neutral blade like this (this Tesla Nema 5-20 adapter uses that horizontal notch):

What other tech stock to consider?

Probably because they didn't want to sell to SpaceX at the price they were willing to pay?

    HW3 and WiFi Networks

For home networks, you want the long range version (UniFi 6 Long-Range Access Point). The Pro and Lite versions are meant for office environments where you have have a lot of clients in a relatively small area. Homes networks are the opposite, you have clients that are scattered in a larger...

    HW3 and WiFi Networks

I have found Tesla’s WiFi to be finicky as well. One of my Tesla’s is currently parked outdoors with decent but not great 5 ghz signal. The only way I can get to reliably connect was to create a 2.4 ghz SSID and have the Tesla connect to that.

    Virgin Galactic

That’s a good point. Ironically, I was recently day dreaming about what anti matter propelled rockets would be like. You’d have some sort of active magnetic containment, which means containment failure would be catastrophic depending on how much energy you were storing. Because of this, I was...

SpaceX vs. Everyone - ULA, NG, Boeing, Lockheed, etc.

It would be nice if NASA spent their budget on science missions and none on developing rockets, which they aren't very good at, and now have zero need to do.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Anyone know how many Tesla’s weren’t sold in Texas due to the restrictions? I didn’t see it as a PR risk move, more of a PR opportunity to help get legislation fixed. Regardless, that isn’t why Tesla chose Austin. They learned from the Nevada Gigafactory that you can’t build a large factory...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Human binocular vision isn’t good at estimating distance very far away (50-300 yards). Tesla vision doesn't use it either. I believe it uses the same mechanism that humans use. Ie. We know what we are looking at (tree, truck, car, stop sign) and have an estimate of its size based on that...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

As in most complex things, there's more than one way to do autonomous driving. Other EV makers continued to go down the path of pouch cells long after Tesla showed the way with cylindrical cells. I suspect it'll be the same for autonomous driving. Other OEMs will use, and tout, their radar and...

What a garbage article. There is no news here since the SEC hasn't in fact launched an investigation.

Mach-E road trip becomes a charging fiasco...

From a customer's point of view, they don't care if it is Ford's network. First, Ford is subsidizing it, so it kinda is their network (they did a partnership with them). And second, these third party charging networks are the ONLY way to do long distance drives in a Ford. So Ford really should...

I'd be willing to take the opposite side of that bet. I'm pretty sure SpaceX will have a P2P service by the end of this decade. It'll be their second spin out company after Starlink...

    SpaceX Internet Satellite Network: Starlink

This is a great article with lots of news information about Starlink from Shotwell. Link and some quotes: https://spaceflightnow.com/2021/04/06/spacex-to-ramp-up-vandenberg-launch-cadence-with-starlink-missions/ “We still have a lot of work to do to make the network reliable,” Shotwell said...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

I don’t think we know, but I would be surprised if the Boring company wasn’t getting the revenue, or at least some kind of revenue share with Tesla for supplying cars. At any rate, the marketing $$ equivalent for Tesla is huge with these tunnels.

BYND Beyond Meat out of main

Kinda reminds me of the baby formula fad in the 1960s and 1970s. People were saying baby formula was better than mothers milk. Now it has flipped, and now people are doing everything they can to not use baby formula. Not an exact analogy, of course, there are big differences. The bottom line is...

Mach-E road trip becomes a charging fiasco...

If the other car manufacturers had a clue, they would work hard to make the CCS network reliable in the US. Just like Tesla did. Early in the day, Tesla actually contracted with flatbed tow truck operators when a critical supercharger went down (like Harris Ranch, central CA). They also deployed...

    SpaceX F9 - Starlink V1.0-L23 - SLC-40

Interesting that they only have a single ground tracking camera. Kinda boring! Edit: Well after stage separation and entry burn, they got the cameras working. Huh. Edit 2: Wow, they had the booster camera running throughout the landing. Cool.

Yes, it is very nice indeed that Tesla did it right and takes into account elevation. Kinda obvious thing to do if you know anything about EVs (ahem).

Mach-E road trip becomes a charging fiasco...

ESPECIALLY when you consider that Tesla is the scrappy understaffed startup, while Ford has a bazillion more employees than Tesla, and yet they can't QA a charging network?

Mach-E road trip becomes a charging fiasco...

There's no good way to spin what happened to this poor guy. I remember going on my first road trip with my early 2013 Tesla Model S. I had actually picked it up from the Fremont factory and drove it back to San Diego. At that time, Tesla had all of six supercharger locations in the world. Harris...

OMG. I thought I’d listen in just a little bit of that, but it was like watching a slow motion train wreck. I couldn’t stop watching. What a disaster. What other tech stock to consider?

As a short term investor, Lordstown could be an interesting buy. The stock could indeed get a pop due to many upcoming catalysts, or not. As a long term hodl investor, I personally think it is too soon to say. People tend to forget that starting an auto manufacturer is really, really hard...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

For a mature company, yes return on investment is key. And probably for gaming as well since it is harder to leverage a gaming sales hit into multiple gaming sales hits, so you want to make money from the hits. For growth companies that have sticky customers (think SaaS, or in Tesla’s case...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Wrong. Rivian is putting chargers in really obscure places. Tesla, especially when they started, put and continues to put their chargers in the most trafficked areas. It is a smart strategy for a mass market brand like Tesla. Rivian is an adventure brand so they are putting their chargers in...

I could see Burry doing this without realizing he was breaking the law. I suspect he is that clueless. Burry barely survived a legal challenge when he made his huge bet against the housing market in 2005-2008. He was running a fund and his investment bets were way outside what his fund documents...

Really? I let the comment about the headline being inaccurate slide because it wasn’t worth the time to point out that the headline is actually accurate. Beside, who the &$#- cares? Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

True. Rivian appears to have a bad corporate culture about this. IF the allegations are true (and Tesla appears to have evidence), those employees who brought Tesla proprietary info with them to their new job should have been fired. Do note that the IP allegedly being stolen is fairly “soft”...

Anyone know why the SEC called on Burry? The article doesn’t say. I’m not upset that yet another Tesla bear gets shut up, but on the flip side, not sure that the SEC should be shutting up people at all. Are opinions about companies verboten now, or did Burry cross some line?

Yikes. Well, whatever man. I think you guys are being a bit too sensitive, but hey, that's just my opinion. Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

It is actually a good article. The headline is simply pointing out that Rivian will be putting chargers in really way out locations, even more remote than Tesla has.
