False Positive Automatic Emergency Braking at 80mph

I would report this incident and send video to the NHTSA since Tesla has been under investigation for odd braking behavior.

Use Scheduled Departure to Have Less Time at High SOC?

How are you measuring battery degradation over time? Simply using the stated vehicle range on the screen based on SOC of 100% would not be an accurate metric. Seems to me you would need to actually drive the car from 100% to 0% SOC and see how far it goes and perform this test repeatedly at...

Use Scheduled Departure to Have Less Time at High SOC?

Is there any valid battery science that can inform this discussion or do we just muddle along digesting anecdotal voodoo which is so prevalent sometimes on these forums?

My Supercharging experience... Is this right?

Using the recommended SC stops based on Tesla navigation will likely result in fewer stops but longer charge times in my road trip experience. Definitely not the most efficient use of time. My next long trip, I plan to use ABRP and enter the recommended SC stops manually into Tesla navigation...

Model y long rang verses performance model y

The only things you get by trading for a Performance Y is 0.5 secs faster going 0-60, larger tires, beefier brakes ( hardly used anyway), track mode, and a rear spoiler. Yes the ride will likely be a bit stiffer and not as smooth esp with the larger wheels. Does your wife really care about the...

    A/C settings

First to come to mind is to make sure you link the driver and passenger temp together by turning off “split” in climate controls. Secondly, and I’m not 100% sure, but the passenger vent may only be active when you have a passenger. Does perusing the owner’s manual address your question as well?

    PPF [satire]

Back in the day, folks used to encase their upholstered furniture is in clear plastic coverings. I’ll bet the OP doesn’t think twice about getting a screen protector for your phone!

    Air condition controls

If you feel the climate controls are superior in the Mazda or Leaf, then by all means drive those vehicles. Admittedly there is a bit of a learning curve to using the Tesla climate controls most efficiently. My beef is the amount of fan noise in the cabin and frequently adjusting the fan speed...

    Model 3: Rattling rear deck

I, too, have been plagued by this squeaky/rattling noise coming from the right rear of my 2022 M3 LR. Sounds to me like the crackling from a fire or the distant popcorn popping is the best way to describe it. At first, I thought it may be the seats rubbing together or against the rear door and...

    Model Y rear seat rattles

Where does one get these clips to install for squeaky rear seats? Right now I’m stuffing microfiber cloth between seats. Seems to be helping.

40 mi commute, office charger debate

I don’t understand what all the fuss is about. It’s an 80 mile commute for heaven’s sake. Charge at home in the evening to 80-90% and you are more than good to go. No need to charge at work unless you need to feel special.

I’ve never experienced death before but I still carry life insurance.

    Mobile Charger no longer included

Competition? Sure, you only need to observe and experience the airline industry. All that competition and they still all charge the customer fees up the yang, provide lousy service and the food is barely edible on a good flight. They do this because the demand far exceeds supply and the...

    Mobile Charger no longer included

As a 2 Tesla vehicle owner, we use both mobile connectors daily since they are mounted and plugged into 14-50 outlets. On road trips we take one in the car. Hard to believe Tesla sees much upside to their decision to exclude mobile chargers from their vehicles. On the other hand, it’s appalling...

    Strong Winds on Roadtrip

Head and side winds can certainly impact range and efficiency. Under these conditions, it’s wise to add some extra charge when supercharging probably in the ballpark of 10-20%. May also find yourself making a few extra charging stops depending on the extent of the windy conditions. You’ll be...

Serious Issue with our 2021 Model 3 - Reported to TSB

Is phantom braking more likely to occur with vehicles having Tesla Vision cameras vs the radar system used on pre-2021 models?

    Front passenger seat rattle

Thanks for the idea. I have a SC appt to address this issue but will try your suggestion to see if the noise goes away. It’s quite annoying.

Is it ok that Tesla used a 19 inch spare tire?

I have a modern spare tire for a Model Y. Can I use this for road trips in my Model 3?

    Front passenger seat rattle

I have a 2022 M3 LR that's had a front passenger seat rattle since the day I took delivery a few weeks ago. It's medium to high pitched and random depending on the condition of the road. When a person is sitting in this seat, the rattle completely goes away. Sort of sounds like a loose plastic...

Worth buying performance over LR+boost JUST for the acceleration increase?

Hard to understand why anyone needs or wants to have more robust acceleration than what the current M3 LR offers!

    Phantom Braking

While we’re on the topic of recalls, there is a large article in today’s Washington Post about phantom braking problems with Tesla vehicles and the current NHSTA investigations into the issue. Seems unclear if this problem is related to sensitivity of the new Tesla Vision system vs the older...

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

I texted my SA at number I received from Tesla shortly after I placed my order back in Nov. Basically responded to text I received today with my VIN. Asked to confirm Ryzen and 12v battery which they were able to.

Tips for parking in a tight parkade

If pulling in there are distance sensors located near the front and rear which graphically show up on screen indicating how far or near vehicle is to objects or obstructions...

Model 3 - LR AWD Waiting Room

While a consumer should periodically shop around insurance rates, that is only half the equation. As important, if not more so, is a company’s reputation when it comes to dealing with claims as that is a critical time. After all, that is why you buy insurance in the first place. Sometimes the...

    NEMA 14-50 requires GFCI breaker?

Initially, my 14-50 install required GCFI breaker per inspection, but after having problems with nuisance tripping of the 50 amp breaker, and since the mobile connector has built in GFCI, my electrician agreed to swap out the GFCI breaker for non-GFCI at a later time. I ended up keeping the GFCI...
