    MAIN BATTERY FAILURE

All the battery labels I've seen posted at TMC have either: 1) the word "REMAN" included in part numbers and the battery labels 2) the word is missing all together in part numbers and the battery labels So, if #2 is not new, then what’s the part# and/or label designation of a new battery pack...

Dear God, what is this thing?

You are welcome. I hope this also helps the OP, @highfalutintodd The useful long press on the 3-dot icon is not mentioned anywhere. I came across it accidentally :)
  3. Droschke

Dear God, what is this thing?

That's correct. The 2012-2020 range includes different varieties of cars built during that period (pre-face-lift, face-lift, MCU1, MCU2, etc.) and the manual generically covers all of them, which basically have to default with the newer cars in that range. Relying on the Release Notes might...

MCU1: Black center screen / mcu failure caused by a faulty navigation MicroSD card

$20 is damn cheap! Compare that with the ICE car dealership charges to update your maps (I suppose those guys still charge those super high prices to update your navigation data).

MCU1: Black center screen / mcu failure caused by a faulty navigation MicroSD card

Ah, sorry, don't know how I missed that. What's the latest map version available? Mine is @2021.44.13555.

MCU1: Black center screen / mcu failure caused by a faulty navigation MicroSD card

I was not aware Tesla sells Micro-SD cars pre-loaded with maps. How much do they charge? What's the version of that map? Thanks.

    MAIN BATTERY FAILURE

I don't think so. For example, a 1014116-00-C is a 100 kWh pack minus two modules. They sell that to you as a non-remanufactured (new) pack for ~$23K.
  8. Droschke

Dear God, what is this thing?

There are two versions of the owners manual: Model S Owner's Manual 2012–2020 https://www.tesla.com/ownersmanual/2012_2020_models/en_us/ Model S Owner's Manual 2021 + https://www.tesla.com/ownersmanual/models/en_us/ At the bottom of each link, you can download the PDF version if you prefer.

This is how I've configured my bottom shelf: The red box between the left temperature (the driver side temp) and the 3-dot icon I have drawn is the area you can customize to have up to 4 apps of your choice. The yellow box I've drawn is the list of the most recent apps you have accessed which...

Tesla colorizer not working on 2014 Model S

Wouldn't it be nice if they include a checkbox next to every item in the Release Notes so we can instantly submit feedback as to it's "Working"/"Not working"?

To MCU2 or not to MCU2?

@Zuikkis - You are a genius :) A simple reboot fixed it. The chime and the IC visuals are all back. Now I have to hope that it stays that way. Thanks again.
  15. Droschke

To MCU2 or not to MCU2?

Thanks @Zuikkis - Just a bit more info: - I did a factory reset before turning in my MCU1 to the service center just to erase all my stuff from it and start from a clean page with MCU2. - When I got the car back from the service center, first I did another factory reset to avoid facing any...

    Model S Battery

If the EPA range was 240 for your car, then your car fully charged when brand new should have shown 240 "Rated" miles. My car was EPA rated 265 miles of range. When it was delivered to me brand new, the car at 100% SOC was showing 265 miles.

To MCU2 or not to MCU2?

Looks like after my recent MCU2 upgrade, I do not see the visual warning on the instrument cluster showing the proximity to an object anymore. I tested against the wall to make sure. My "Park Assist Chimes" is set to ON, but don't hear chimes. Does installing the MCU2 have anything to do with...

Issue with Las Vegas service center

I believe the term is "skid", not ski. Shielding to protect the battery from being damaged, like the Skid Plate. A simple search for "Tesla model S battery skid rails" would give you some ideas.
  21. Droschke

Issue with Las Vegas service center

That's normal. They can't keep cars inside the service area if they are not actively working on.
  22. Droschke

Range above EPA estimate for 2017 Model S 75D

No problem. This comes up occasionally with the first time owners. "Ideal" is not real. "Rated" is closer to reality.

Range above EPA estimate for 2017 Model S 75D

Is your car set to "Ideal" or "Rated"? Also, is that with the original battery?

    2017 100d model s hv battery replacement

It really does not matter when the pack was re-manufactured. The important thing is what’s inside the casing. So, if you are wondering how old the modules/cells inside the case are, you won't know.

Tesla colorizer not working on 2014 Model S

Changing my car's color, for no apparent reason, from the very dark blue color (PMMB) which I love, on the left, to a super bright one, on the right which I don't like at all, needs to be fixed. I don't have to be given a colorization tool to do it.

    Anyway to reduce vampire drain - MCU 2 - Q2 2015 70D

Thanks for the feedback. The graph I posted is from my router. To take the measurements, I've been leaving the car totally undisturbed in a 24-hour window, except at 10:00 AM every day to get the data, when I either connect via the app or physically go to the car to read the RM and SOC. Also...

Wiki Consolidated eMMC Thread (MCU repair) (Black Center Screen)

This part might be a BS too. TuneIn (or any app for that matter) is not using a hardware port requiring a connection cable they might have missed or a loose connection of sorts. I bet they got it fixed by software-refreshing certain settings at the server side. But I'm glad it worked out for...

    Model S 2017 75D wont sleep properly 1hr sleep, 15min awake repeat...

Thanks again. The yearly ~584kWh vampire drain is high. The other factor (disadvantage) seems to be the inability of my car's MCU2 to take advantage of the build-in power supply in the new 90kWh pack due to lack of required wiring (for cars built pre-summer 2015) and that the MCU2 is powered not...

I would not have wasted my time with them any more than you have. A factory reset I described earlier here: https://teslamotorsclub.com/tmc/posts/6936105/ would probably be the first thing to do, and most likely would have brought your Tunein back as it did with my missing HomeLink (I did not...

Thanks. That ~2% is ~5 miles per 24 hours. That's with a brand new 90 kWh battery with 80 kWh usable. How would you arrive at "75W standby consumption" and "150w"?

Forgot to mention, I do not use any 3rd party app or portal. This behavior started right after MCU2 upgrade. Per service center, my 12v battery is healthy (I had them check its health during the MCU2 upgrade install).

My car's info can be found in my signature and has been upgraded to MCU2 and a brand new HV battery. The car does not sleep, has connection activity 24 hours and loses 2% (5 miles) of capacity in 24 hours, while parked, unplugged and unused.

In my tests with MCU1, unplugged would yield much less drain. I'm planning to test it with MCU2.

Good luck. Also, when you get your TuneIn back see if your favorites are still available. Mine doesn't show the "Favorites" category at all and the search for a particular station which I was able to do with MCU1 implementation are no longer available under the newer software running under MCU2.

Thanks for sharing your experience and data. The software update which the service center installed has been the latest (it's in my signature). The car was set to charge at 90% by the SC (I personally prefer 50% based on my usage), has been unused, unplugged since I brought it back and...

Just got my pack replaced: 1014116-00-c

It puzzled me too when I read it in April. A $23k HV battery pack is not a set of wiper blades in stock at the SC and ready to be given out proactively. Something is missing from the OP's description.

MCU2 upgrade install delayed for months, Parts backordered or what?

Of course, the components are made in different locations but I'm was curious where they do the final assembly of the retrofit kits.
