    2022.8.10.1 on MCU1

Well here is a twist! That is exactly what they did (replaced the SD card) and after waiting most of the day, declared that it didn't solve the problem and sent me on my way with an appointment to upgrade the infotainment system to MCU2. This morning I checked on it, and it has UPDATED! Not...

Nope... looks like the MCU itself is corrupt, guess I’ll accelerate the timetable for the mcu2 upgrade, ugh... and of course, another appointment and wasted day...

    2022.8.10.1 on MCU1

Update on my circumstance - they suspect it is the SD card that holds the nav data, so i have a SC appointment tomorrow to get that resolved. They tried to reformat it remotely and start over, but that didn't help so in we go... I even moved the access point into the garage and signal strength...

Attempt #3 on the Nav update, this time with Tesla SC monitoring remotely. Fingers crossed... ...still no word on whether any update now or in the future will ever allow me to load and view the release notes....

    2022.8.10.1 on MCU1

Will do - they just contacted me via phone today and said they are able to see that it has been going for awhile. I sent them a picture of the download speed, right now hanging out at 19kb/s. I should probably also let them know that I have tried rebooting etc.

    2022.8.10.1 on MCU1

Thanks. Yeah i've rebooted a couple of times, and Wifi is as strong as ever. I did notice since the v11 update that it tends to flop between wifi and LTE more, and of course, it suspends the download as soon as it goes to LTE. Didn't used to do that. i opened a service request to see if...

    2022.8.10.1 on MCU1

Nav update still in the same spot as my last post. I guess it doesn't really matter, other than I'd like to just get it done. It still gets me around oK. I guess its just going to sit there until their servers decide its my turn. Haha yes, I too kept turning the heated seats on here in TX in...

    2022.8.10.1 on MCU1

Thanks @Ostrichsak, good to know. Not overly concerned as long as that's the normal experience. Do you know whether it will pause and resume upon my return if I drive somewhere before it finishes? I doubt it would continue over cellular. You are right, my Volvo XC60 maps were 2011 I think...

    2022.8.10.1 on MCU1

Nav update is still downloading.... looks about 3/4 finished, only getting about 376kb/s download speed although the signal appears good and the v11 update downloaded and completed in less than an hour. Is this normal for the nav update? Will it eventually time out and start over?

    2022.8.10.1 on MCU1

Hey, looks like I can schedule charging from the app now! It also allows me to choose the charging amps, but seems like it is limited to 30A. Normally i charge at 40A at 2am, I wonder if it self-limited due to the TX grid issues. I'll have to see what it says in the car. Looks like there is...

infotainment update price change - now $1750?

Yes that was the point of the post... the prices have gone up - "i knew I shouldn't have waited..." That said, I'll probably still do it - too many little bugs and glitches that I'm hoping will be addressed by the newer hardware and ability to take on firmware updates.
  18. ayavner

infotainment update price change - now $1750?

So I was chatting with a tech after completing a remote service and asked him about the MCU2 upgrades. He told me those are now $1750 (from memory) - that sucks, I knew I shouldn't have waited! That's without the FM radio.

    Why can't I "top off"

Eh, it was a one-time thing.... normally just charge to 80% or so at home. Of course i know i can hit level 2 chargers, just was hoping to have enough charge in my 85kwh battery to make a <200 mile highway round trip... Can you elaborate more on what specifically is going to kill the...

    Why can't I "top off"

That's correct, I charged it overnight then checked in a couple of hours prior to my trip and it had gone down to 96%. I did unplug it and actually backed out of the driveway and back in, then plugged in again. It still gave me the "charging complete" message. I hit the nearest Supercharger...

    Why can't I "top off"

So I charged to 100% overnight because I am taking a trip that is going to be pushing the limits with mileage and charger availability. It only went to 99%, and throughout the day has dropped to 96%. I would like to be able to start charging and top it up that few % (the trip is pretty close)...

Picture Tutorial/How-to: Model S Tail Light Replacement

Disclaimer: Yes I know there are plenty of videos on the subject. This is for those of us who would rather just see it all on one page than have to sit through a video to see if it looks worth tackling. Ready to begin? 1. I set up an alert on ebay for the tail light, and lucked out with a...

Glad I stumbled onto this thread - just created an account over at @wk057 and looks like I'm eligible! This may have been answered over the past 8 pages, but if I take the car in to Tesla SC for service should I remove the BMD just to avoid *that* conversation? Does the BMD tell you what...

    scheduled departure lost its mind

I think due to the age of the car and/or MCU1, my app does not seem to have any place for setting/checking that - all I can do is move the slider to set the charge limit and start/stop charging. Interesting how it seems like an either/or function, yet somehow seems to be doing both. I tried...

    scheduled departure lost its mind

Hi all - I've done a search and seems a lot of the advice is around the App, which I don't think applies to me (2015, MCU1). I changed to Scheduled Departure once, a week or so ago, to be charged and ready to go by 0930. Right after that I set it back to Scheduled Charging. It still reflects...

Best speed for automatic suspension lowering for long trip?

Its a 2015. So I tried it this week on trips to and from the airport, about 70 highway miles each way at speeds above 70 I think. Not enough data points yet, but I didn't do anything else differently. I definitely want to keep it at default height for all but the smoothest roads and in town...

Best speed for automatic suspension lowering for long trip?

Howdy - I am planning a trip from North Texas into West Texas, about a 300+ mile straight highway shot with a supercharger or two along the way. Right now by default, I believe the automatic lowering is set for 100 mph. I assume this helps (marginally) with aerodynamics and therefore...

Vendor Wireless phone charger for Tesla Model S/X

Thank you for the detailed pics! I did find a contact form on his website and he replied asking for pics of my console, so there's hope! It does seem overpriced, but not having any luck finding anything else. They used to have one on the tesla shop but they don't even show it anymore.

Rear tail light assembly - repair or replace?

Applique tape 1021608-00-B for anyone keeping track. What is the best way to order parts from the parts catalog? Just rock up to the SC and hope they have the part? Or open a service request and just explain in the notes you just want the parts? Since I am out of warranty, and the above...

Vendor Wireless phone charger for Tesla Model S/X

The wireless charger FAQ states that it is not compatible with 1st generation drop-in premium center console. Both right side handles present but won't unlatch the door. I've had a rolling appointment at the SC for a month that they keep pushing back by a week at the last minute. If I can find time I will try to go through the youtube videos and DIY. I started to once and found there was a cloth...

    door panel safety strap?

Sorry - didn't get notified of these responses! Yeah i can probably just drill it out I suppose. @KalJoMoS - it just seems if I can remove the door panel I can set it aside where I won't damage it. If the strap stays on, the panel will end up hanging there by a corner and probably being in...

re-install front bumper 2015 Model S - tips or things to be aware of?

Thanks, that is about the clearest I have seen anywhere! :D I wasn't able to tell from the graphic, does this apply to the older (nosecone) bumpers? Or are they all the same? Some reason I was expecting a line of those white plastic rivets across the front, most of which I anticipated...

re-install front bumper 2015 Model S - tips or things to be aware of?

Hi all - so I did something dumb the other day - well, probably avoidable at any rate. I parked up against a curb in the parking lot, and did not see the piece of rebar that holds the curb in place poking up a couple of inches. And helpfully painted the same color as the curb. Anyway, I...

    2021.24.28 Rolling out to MCU1/FSD MS/X

Yeah as far as I can tell, the change remains limited to the inability to pull up release notes and the front display booting each time I get in the car now. Phantom braking still here with a vengeance. I also get the occasional streaming song skipped in the middle, but I got that before as...
