Depends on the audience, most have an open mind re: advances. But there's the other side of the spectrum as well, ignorant and unwilling to learn. I once summoned it to the front of Costco late in the evening exiting after store hours, and the guy who I often see at the store checking receipts...

Appreciate some guidance if anyone has experience: is there a way to execute SELL A, buy B right one after the other or in a multi-step single transaction? Is this even possible :D my laptop crashed at the worst possible time this morning - right after selling some AMZN that I wanted to convert...

very odd - a ~10k share order at 714.50 just printed (maybe it is one of those trades executed in the dark pool at yday closing price but don't those need to be reported without much delay)

One can agree with some of the things Elon says all the time, the same person can agree with all of the things Elon says, some of the times. but it is very rare that you will find a person who will agree with all of the things Elon says, all of the times. It's called being human and having...

can't do the exact math of his trade, but if one is bullish AF - they could hold 1 JAN23 200c for the same price as holding ~70 TSLA shares today(rough math) Lets say TSLA is at 2000 at expiry: 70 shares would be worth: 140k 1 Jan23 200c would have an intrinsic value of 180k. DITM leaps are...

This is generally a quiet time between quarters ... In the absence of any news catapulting the stock higher, TSLA is still tracking with the market broadly (if you compare with SPX - it is a similar looking graph) We are simply prone to more swings and that is expected given TSLA's beta is...

Off topic - Cannot seem to find a post previously which talked about selling off Dec 31 to book losses against the gains, and how it would probably not offset the gains because it settled a few days later in the next year: Was researching this a bit more, and found this - Page 6 from here...

Cannot believe all these analysts clamoring for a number in terms of guidance. Why cannot these people just read between the lines.? Elon Q3 call - we could probably do something in the ballpark of the 800k number by Pierre Elon a while ago : we have the first class problem of demand...

Wall St just doing it's job pushing the news cycle - I don't think anyone at Tesla is actually sweating about any EV maker, let alone Apple if they get there. Musk and co. have easily thought about this - which is why there is this whole focus on integrating manufacturing processes at the...

It boggles my mind how DJI is constituted. Holding equal number of shares of each constituent irrespective of their share price doesn't logically look to be a very good way of investing... but is considered the bellwether of the US economy AAPL used to be the top component, but after their...

sorry, mistyped. closing cross at 1600ET was completed with an imbalance of 12.4m shares. I guess there weren't enough sellers at that 695 price... so none more could be brought to the table. I don't think it is the case that there were not enough sellers at 705 etc, but maybe the MOC buy...

A noob read of the situation - Index buyers put in their buy MOC orders. Front runners put in their sell orders. When NSDQ updated the imbalance at 1557 - we were at 655. seeing the imbalance auction was initiated - this lifted closing indicative price to 704 as you can see. More sellers...

Can you not put a sell limit order for your options? If they are ITM for even a slight moment before close, I'm hoping there is good OI and liquidity on the calls especially at a round number like 700 for someone to take them off you.

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

IMO, there's way too much focus on this being a large event, but in reality it is just mixing and matching 1.5% of your assets. If you compare the Aug runup due to speculation of the inclusion, and the post Nov-16 rise after S&P confirmation, it shows a lot of similarities - the only major...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Also, the numbers are all relative. For example - SPY is at AUM of 325B right now. Probably need to buy about 5-6B of TSLA. All said and done, it is just 1.5% of their fund - IMO they aren't sweating this at all right now. There are a lot of days when SPY moves more than 1.5% itself - to them it...

Maybe they needed the front running to happen so as to get the right amount of liquidity? I don't know if most of us have been too narrow-sighted with the sheer number of shares that need to be absorbed by the SP500 funds, that we probably miss why S&P set an extended run up, and then said let's...

Tesla, TSLA & the Investment World: the Perpetual Investors' Roundtable

Wait, isnt this contradicting - being weighted by float and market price intrinsically means share count is a function of those two. For example the change in AAPL holding by SPY keeps changing when the share price changes, which in turn changes the weighting in S&P500 Whereas look at GOOGL...

Given TSLA's size, S&P also have to reconstitute the S&P50 and S&P100. Not sure if reconstitution of those indexes are also done on a quarterly basis, but if yes - it could be a company from the top 100, not the likes of OXY.
