Just when I think I've figured out a pattern for when it does and doesn't use the signal for a lane change or upcoming turn, I get a counterexample. So my new conclusion is turn signals use a random number generator.

I'd say no, but I won't swear to that. I'd guess I first saw "Cabin camera unavailable" a month or two into FSD. But it was very intermittent. I wouldn't see it for weeks, until the recent trip I mentioned above. And it's been quiet so far this week.

Yeah, I was surprised by the difference when we moved here from Sacramento. I discovered it studying for my OR license. And speaking of dashed lines, I think there's an exception to what I stated above when the line is dashed. But I don't see that in this part of Oregon.

FSD violates Oregon bike law. At least in Oregon, when there is a bike lane, it is illegal for a car to enter the bike lane in preparation for a turn (typically a right turn). But FSD will usually do that. It doesn't hog the whole bike lane, but it definitely drifts over the line. Tsk, tsk.

The only one I recall encountering was Winnemucca, NV, where they added new V3s to the existing V2s, increasing total capacity. (I had the sense most folks aren't aware of the V2/V3 distinction, since 3/4 of the V2s were busy, and only one V3 was.)

It's OK. If you use Google Maps to plan a route from the Klamath Falls Supercharger to the one in Winnemucca, it'll take you on 140, which is faster than going south to Reno and back up to Winnemucca. But it's like 307 miles, if memory serves, and that's cutting it too close for my comfort...

Yep. This. It omits signaling moves into turn lanes. It makes some (not all) signals for intersection turns very late. But I've also had it signal too early--at the intersection before the one where it's really going to turn, thus understandably confusing other drivers about its intentions.
