Have you seen a refreshed Model S/X in person?

Some great eye in the sky shots emerging as new Model S's are rolling off the updated production line. I'm at a loss as to how this drone can fly seemingly unnoticed by all the folks below. It seems to get within 10-20 feet at few points. Having said that, appreciate the content and great to see...

Is a 4-bike rack for Model X doable?

I also have the Yakima SwingDaddy on my X. I will say that I really struggle to get 4 bikes on there, though. Three is doable, four requires a good amount of finagling.... I've been looking at the Kuat, but that is a beast. :)

Have you seen a refreshed Model S/X in person?

Getting a view of the Model S would be equally nice.

Have you seen a refreshed Model S/X in person?

Like many, anxiously awaiting the first set of refreshed Model S and Model X's coming off the updated production line. I wanted to put out a call to see if anyone here has seen one, or better yet captured pics or videos of the latest models. Please do share, and this can be a thread to capture...

New design - With no stalks how do you change directions or signal?

I don’t believe that is accurate. There have been cars in the market with steer-by-wire for several years with no mechanical connection to the wheels. Infiniti's New Steering System Is a Big Step Forward—Unless You Love Cars Here’s an article from 2014.

Major 2021 Model X refresh pending [Update: Unveiled January 27, 2021]

Call me crazy, but it seems reasonable that before condemning the yoke as a horrible solution, it would make sense to try it out at least. Generally Tesla has a pretty good record of getting things right in the UI dept., imho.

Does anyone know if there are foglights in the new styling? Speaking specifically about the vertical lights in the previous model.

Major 2021 Model X refresh pending [Update: Unveiled January 27, 2021]

On the bottom, I would assume. :p Pretty soon you'll just be watching Netflix on the center screen while the car takes you down the road. At least, I assume that's the rational here... :)

Major 2021 Model X refresh pending [Update: Unveiled January 27, 2021]

Call me a fanboy (well, I do have an X and a M3P), but I have found that Tesla is usually right when it comes to ergonomics. They nail it. It's not always obvious from photos, but when you experience the car, the interface, it generally all makes sense and works well. Buying a $90K vehicle sight...

Major 2021 Model X refresh pending [Update: Unveiled January 27, 2021]

I guess they could extend it if you have a second paired phone and enable auto-present on the passenger side as well. Eg, my wife's phone.

Major 2021 Model X refresh pending [Update: Unveiled January 27, 2021]

Probably similar to how it works today. Double-tap key fob, so likely a button in the app. Auto-presenting is Driver door only based on bluetooth triangulation.

Major 2021 Model X refresh pending [Update: Unveiled January 27, 2021]

I believe you. I don't believe the advisor. :) Only way I can see it is if they have a demo on inventory already built.

Major 2021 Model X refresh pending [Update: Unveiled January 27, 2021]

The will manufacture the old one? That seems incredibly unlikely. The production line is now updated for the new models. I can't see how they would be able to do that. Sounds like a misinformed advisor.

Major 2021 Model X refresh pending [Update: Unveiled January 27, 2021]

Nice, can you give a quick tutorial on setting up voice commands for the X with your Apple Watch to open the trunk / frunk, etc? Would like that ability.

Major 2021 Model X refresh pending [Update: Unveiled January 27, 2021]

Mostly number 2... In fact, given Tesla's track record on fresh production lines, I see a significant risk of quality issues in taking delivery of a new model before production line kinks are worked out. However, with Tesla living on the edge is sorta par for the course...

    2016 Model X P90D or 2017 100D?

IMHO, I would avoid early Model Xs. I have a 2018 and have driven 2016s. There were many improvements made incrementally so I would opt for the most recent model you can afford that meets your needs. Don't be seduced by the Performance model. :) Timely video from Ben Sullins on his 2016 Model...

    Charging rates - Why 48A is 2x 30A ?

    Thanks, I think that answers it. 30A x 200v = 6kw vs. 48A x 240v = 11.5kw Accounting for ~2x the charge rate. Math!
  22. J

    Charging rates - Why 48A is 2x 30A ?

    Simple question that I know folks here can answer. On my X 100D, why is charging at a 30A Chargepoint charger adding 16 miles/hour, while charging at my home at 48A is 32 miles/hour. If I’m not mistaken: Chargepoint 30A x 240v = 7.2Kw Home 48A x 240v = 9.6Kw (33% increase) I'm unclear on...

Losing 3.5KWh sitting in garage for 24h? Normal?

Hello Tesla peoples! Enjoying my month-old Model X 100D, and just returned from a trip where the car sat idle in the garage while we were away. Each day there was a loss of 3.5 KWh and about 11 miles of range. Is this normal? Should the car go into 'sleep' mode? I have pre-conditioning turned...

    Car refuses 72A charge?

From the main panel? I'm not certain as the electrician installed it. He seemed to know exactly what he was doing fwiw. Understood the amperage requirements. But you never know I guess?

    Car refuses 72A charge?

Hello! Just brought home our new X 100D and loving it. Had the HPWC installed on a 90A circuit tapped off our 200A main panel feed. The car starts charging at 72A just fine, but after approx 5 minutes, the charging stops with no error message in the car. It's necessary to unplug and plug in...

Hey folks! New Model X owner here. Enjoying the heck out of it. I have a garage with a lower ceiling of 94" with a garage door opener track that hangs down about 3". The falcon doors opened once just fine to the lower falcon door opening height, but since then have refused to open at all on...

Electrician in the SF Bay Area?

Hey all, can you recommend an electrician to install a HPWC in the Redwood City area? I've not had good luck with quotes so far from $2,400 to $3,600 which seems egregious, to be polite. There's nothing special about my install. I have space in my sub panel and a 200A feed to the home. Short...

QUESTION: How big of a Charging circuit can I get installed?

Thanks guys, as it happens, it would appear that although I have a 200A breaker on the main panel, the input from the PoCo to my home may be 125A. There is a 1/0 gauge wire coming in which apparently carries a max of 125A. Not sure why there's a 200A breaker!

QUESTION: How big of a Charging circuit can I get installed?

It appears my main feed is 125 Amps, as the wire appears to be 1/0 gauge (125A max) going into the main from the ground. Even though they appear to have installed a 200A breaker for some reason. Anyone have any reason to believe otherwise? :)

QUESTION: How big of a Charging circuit can I get installed?

Guys, need your input! I am getting info on adding a Tesla Wall Charger which I've already bought for my incoming Model X 100D. Here is my panel, and main circuit. I would love your input. Some notes: - The sub-panel shows Jacuzzi, but we removed it, there is no Jacuzzi. - Also shows 'Heat...

Yup! Better touchscreen and browser is here!

If you look at how the web page content in the video seems to appear in large chunks at a time while scrolling up and down, that is what raises my suspicion.
  46. J

Yup! Better touchscreen and browser is here!

No, it takes a great deal less processing power on the client side. It's just displaying an image. As far as bandwidth goes, it's not that intensive to send compressed image data down to the client, and bandwidth is not the rate limiting factor, it's still the CPU bottleneck. Again, just a hunch.
  47. J

Yup! Better touchscreen and browser is here!

Viewing the video showing the updated browser performance with 2018.14, it makes me wonder whether Tesla implemented some sort of cloud-based remote browser rendering. Almost appears that bitmap images are being rendered in the browser, as opposed to actual HTML. Would be interesting to test any...
