New Tesla Orders Will Require Subscription for Navigation After Eight Years

  3. G

    Front Heating Pump

yeah mine is literally named prius i found service to be much better with the model S but that may just have been because they weren't overwhelmed at the time
  4. G

Anyone notice their regen braking affected by 2022.20.6?

wow thats crazy.. never noticed any difference in 2022.20.6 and before and after i touch the brake pedal maybe 1% max
  5. G

Is leaving Tesla plugged in while not charging really beneficial?

i think theres data out there that charging at 48A is less efficient on your home wiring.. i^2 * t and all (also dependent on your feeder size).. if youre not worried about the minor difference in the cost of electricity though it probably doesnt matter

Retrofit CCS compatibility onto earlier (NA) Model 3 - DIY approach

    CCS Adapter - ?

  10. G

    Wiki Trailer-friendly Supercharger Locations

well like you said it depends on the trailer.. it could be trailer friendly if you have a short trailer.. a picture is worth 1000 words
  11. G

    CCS Adapter - ?

I ordered mine 5 days ago hopefully it's still coming
  12. G

    CCS Adapter - ?

that weight is being treated as in the car not tow weight / drag.. instead, i would guess a crazy MPH headwind to make up for the trailer.. call it 40 mph headwind the entire trip.. that might be close to the trailer drag equivalent
  13. G

    Wiki Trailer-friendly Supercharger Locations

thats why i said "until" i was speaking somewhat tic... it would be a cool design were it not for that giant building right there hah
  14. G

Retrofit CCS compatibility onto earlier (NA) Model 3 - DIY approach

Yeah he just says he rips it apart and he broke some stuff.. haha which is exactly what I just did.. I've never been to good at removing trim I hate it never goes back the same Got it done though now to wait for adapter
  15. G

Retrofit CCS compatibility onto earlier (NA) Model 3 - DIY approach

Ok i got my ECU from the service center $140 ($151 after tax).. BUT has anyone done this on a model y (7 seater specifically).. the Y trim is pretty different than the 3... i suppose i may just start ripping things apart i do not see any of those round clips
  16. G

    Wiki Trailer-friendly Supercharger Locations

Clayton, NM has 8 pull forward stalls so trailer friendly until you have to back out or fit your trailer between the stalls and the grocery store there.. still a cool design IMO

Retrofit CCS compatibility onto earlier (NA) Model 3 - DIY approach

Do I have to enter service mode or can i just install it and apply the update that is pending (2022.16.3 in this case)? Edit:... i think i found my answer here Retrofit CCS compatibility onto earlier (NA) Model 3 - DIY approach
  20. G

Data after Supercharging Exclusively for 10,345 miles in 3 months

i dunno.. an AWD Toyota Sienna gets like 35 mpg and has more cargo space.. granted its not as fast 0-60 but who gets a model X for speed?
  21. G

Data after Supercharging Exclusively for 10,345 miles in 3 months

This is exactly the point.. even a 30mpg car is less per mile than a Tesla in some pretty practical scenarios.. which is ridiculous imo
  22. G

Data after Supercharging Exclusively for 10,345 miles in 3 months

The E450 gets 31 mpg highway.. at $4.65 that is basically equivalent to supercharging at $14.15 and 100 mpge ... who's ready to join me in the SC price picket / boycott??
  23. G

Data after Supercharging Exclusively for 10,345 miles in 3 months

When you convert the energy price without regard to any vehicles it is well over $10/gallon.. it's bullshit Example: Laramie, WY = $.42/kwh * 33.7kwh/gallon = $14.15 / gallon of gas equivalent I could buy a 100kw gas generator and stick it at a gas station.. charge $.337 cents ($10/gal equiv)...
  24. G

Data after Supercharging Exclusively for 10,345 miles in 3 months

This sucks.. supercharger rates are worse than gas prices
  25. G

    CCS Adapter - ?

    Nice I see a couple now.. ouch at $.30/min that's like ~$.40/kwh
  26. G

    CCS Adapter - ?

abrp is pretty good but i also use www.evtripplanner.com it has a better interface imo but it is a little more optimistic as well.. i use the model s 85 w/ 19" tires for my long range model y and a 50 degree outside air temp that seems to match my model y long range awd pretty close
  27. G

    CCS Adapter - ?

ive never seen one of these in over 6 years of driving around my Tesla(s)... i admit i haven't looked very hard.. anyway to differentiate on plugshare which ones these are?
  28. G

    CCS Adapter - ?

what? the CCS adapter will not work with the chademo plug.. and no station comes with a built-in tesla adapter

  33. G

CarPlay & Android Auto Hack - Walkthrough

if he gets this down to 1 raspberry pi and no LTE i will likely give it a shot also.. its lame we have to pay $10 / month for LTE in the car but the car won't share out the connection.. that would simplify things even more and probably wouldnt even need a cell phone then
  34. G

    CCS Adapter - ?

    Pics of sister?
  35. G

    CCS Adapter - ?

It looks like the NE corridor is the most dense new York, philly, dc, Boston, etc
  36. G

    CCS Adapter - ?

i've mapped out a couple trips where the CCS will either allow me to take a shorter route and/or there are free charging options.. otherwise i'm not going to go through the hassle of another DCFC for a few cents / kw difference.. i do hope they become more successful though because the SC cost...
  37. G

    CCS Adapter - ?

a Ford lightning ? how was it?!?
  38. G

    CCS Adapter - ?

You still need a card on file because they need to be able to charge you for idle fees if you're "that guy".. admittedly i got hit with one for a few minutes but it was BS cause the station was less than half full
  39. G

CarPlay & Android Auto Hack - Walkthrough

Does the pi do the WiFi hotspot and the car connects to it every time? Why not use my phone hotspot to save me getting an LTE modem?

  41. G

    CHAdeMo adapter rental

Yeah I already have the part on order was $140 from my service center
  42. G

    CHAdeMo adapter rental

yeah i will probably go this route since nobody is chiming in... i agree the CCS is superior in every way (faster, more around, more portable, cheaper)... in fact i had one in my cart at Harumio hoping to not have to buy it.. then they sent me a $3 off email to entice me further so its only...
  43. G

    CHAdeMo adapter rental

would also like to rent / borrow one for middle of july... should we go in on one together? CCS would work too
  44. G

    Model Y P vs Rivian R1S

Installing Wall Connector is better than NEMA 14-50

Have you used it yet? Do we have to do anything special?
  46. G

    Model Y P vs Rivian R1S

Nice.. I have an Apollo Ghost scooter and regular pedal bikes but am curious of the ebikes.. the Apollo Ghost goes like 40mph which is way too fast for a scooter lol
  47. G

    Model Y P vs Rivian R1S

    Which ebike do you have?
  48. G

Installing Wall Connector is better than NEMA 14-50
