    Silver AWD configurations and deliveries

Well, I think geography is involved as well. If Tesla makes cars in batches and then ships a group of red, AWD Model 3s to some city on the east coast, there may not be enough day 1 reservation holders in that area with that configuration, so they reach out to the day 2 reservation holders next...

    Silver AWD configurations and deliveries

Has anyone seen or heard of a Silver, non-P dual-motor being delivered yet? Anecdotal evidence seems to indicate they make them in batches by color/wheel, and this would explain why people with later reservations get their cars earlier...

How fast should people drive in the carpool lane?

It's also against traffic laws in a number of states. (Left-lane campers, this means you: State Patrol conducting crackdown this week) The HOV lane is not, however, a passing lane during the times it is an HOV lane.

How fast should people drive in the carpool lane?

I agree that going the speed limit in the carpool lane if the other lanes are moving as fast or faster than that is pointless. However, the carpool lane is not a passing lane. I don't think "Keep Right Except to Pass" applies to the carpool lane. I reserve my "hate with the fire of 10,000 suns"...

How fast should people drive in the carpool lane?

I also grew up in Orange County and visit often. Not only is the flow of traffic about 10-20 MPH over the speed limit there, but the freeway speed limits within populated areas are generally higher there compared to here. Where anatari's accident happened on the I-90, the speed limit is only 60...

Changes to invite priority, now only effected by date/time of reservation

That's not what I got from my conversation with the ISA I spoke with. I specifically asked if I would receive an email and be asked to configure again and he said no. He said that it will be my exact same configuration that I have now, but with AWD added, and that I will receive a call once the...

Changes to invite priority, now only effected by date/time of reservation

I just called and was also told 4 months from the date of deferment and that "priority" is based solely on reservation number. I went ahead and switched to AWD.

Changes to invite priority, now only effected by date/time of reservation

Isn't delivery time for a brand new reservation for AWD 6-9 months? Are they saying that you lose all priority if you defer at this point?

Changes to invite priority, now only effected by date/time of reservation

If I was fairly certain that I could switch to AWD and get it before the end of the year, I'd do it. My lease on my current car doesn't end until March anyway. I just don't want that "9 month" estimate to be accurate.

Changes to invite priority, now only effected by date/time of reservation

Just doing the math doesn't really add up to 9 months. Pre-reveal is in the first 100k or so reservations. How many people ordered the 1st production? 30k? How many people are waiting for SR? 20-30k? So there're maybe 40-50k who want dual motor? I guess from that point, it depends where you are...

Changes to invite priority, now only effected by date/time of reservation

I reserved online pre-reveal, got the invite on 4/15, and configured on 4/16. I don't have a VIN yet. I called Tesla on Friday and asked the same questions. At first I was told that I could not switch to AWD. When I pressed (nicely) and asked if anyone there could help me since my "3-6 week"...

    VIN Assignment

From what I've seen and heard, East Coast seems to take 2-3 weeks longer than West Coast in general. Obviously, that makes some sense.

    VIN Assignment

Well, my situation is different than yours. If I don't take delivery by May 31st, I'll have to pay $2,800 more in taxes because the WA tax incentive ends.

    VIN Assignment

I'll take anything right now as long as they'll promise me they'll fix it. I'd take a different color than I want right now if they'll repaint it for me!

Silver Metallic is the most rare color (1/3 of next most rare)

Oh good. I just saw on the Tesla Subreddit that someone got a silver VIN today, so they're still making them! :)

Silver Metallic is the most rare color (1/3 of next most rare)

The last silver VIN was days ago! Is it that unpopular of a color?

    VIN Assignment

There were also hardly any on Saturday or Sunday (4 or 5 total I think).

    VIN Assignment

I've heard everything from someone getting a VIN and a call within minutes and delivery in a few days to people getting VINs and not hearing anything for 10 days and then waiting another 3 weeks for delivery to people getting VINs, having them in their account for 3 days, and then the VIN...

Silver Metallic is the most rare color (1/3 of next most rare)

I switched to silver one week ago, and I think I've seen 1 silver VIN since then. Ha.

Anyone switched from Aero to Sports wheel and got VIN?

Sure! Here's the thread and page, although it's worth going back and reading shakotha's posts on the two previous pages as well: WA State Non-Owner Invite check-in... | Page 9 | Tesla

Anyone switched from Aero to Sports wheel and got VIN?

User @shakotha on the Tesla.com forums switched their 4/15 config from Aero to Sport on 4/18 and never got a VIN. They switched back to Aeros on 5/10 and received a VIN on 5/11.

    VIN Assignment

Saw that. It's an earlier VIN though, so the question is whether they've started production back up on the 19" wheels or if it was a re-assignment.

Anyone switched from Aero to Sports wheel and got VIN?

Ha. Has anyone switched from Sport to Aero and gotten a VIN!?

    VIN Assignment

I wonder what that means since they don't custom build the car specifically for your order.

Delivery date? Still waiting on VIN. MSM/Sport.

    VIN Assignment

Not a single Sport wheel VIN reported since April 26th.

Anyone switched from Aero to Sports wheel and got VIN?

I switched from Aero to Sport on 4/18 and no VIN. I think the last Sport wheel VIN assigned is from 4/26. Hopefully the next batch of cars is Sport wheels.

    4/15 invites

According to the VIN Waits by Color tab in the Model 3 Charts, the average wait for a VIN since March 15th is between 15-20 days for Aero wheels and 14-18 days for Sport wheels, If that holds up, then VINs should start coming in over the next few days for people who configured on or after 4/15...

    ANOTHER (DELIVERY CHECKLIST) 1-Page Version

I think the Tesla Model 3 should meet and exceed the technology of my 1972 Ford Maverick, which is why I'm upset there's no 8-track.

    4/15 invites

Yeah, I saw on another thread that he ordered white with 19" wheels. Seriously thinking about changing my order to 19" wheels.

Nice, CaptainAwesome! Congrats! When did you configure and what color/wheels?

    4/15 invites

Also a WA resident (Seattle area). Original reservation made 3/31/16 around 7:45pm. Received configuration invite on 4/15. Ordered MSM Aero on 4/16.
