New configurator up. LR now 353 miles and Perf has Y wheels

Here's my take on the 2021 Model Year changes: Likes: Range Boost to 353 miles on the LR AWDs.. Bravo! Credit the heat pump from the Model Y and maybe slightly denser 2170 batteries.. USB-C access in glove box is a big plus for security, especially now that the glovebox can now be unlocked...

Thanks everyone. I'm happy to hear they still make 'em..

Farewell to ordering a Stealth Performance Model 3???

Yes, I neglected to mention that beginning with the 2020 models, the price was the same for the "stealth" vs. the ones with the Performance (suspension) Upgrade Package, unlike in 2019 and before, where it was just a $2,000 upcharge to a "stealth". Now, all you can do with a LR AWD is to get...

Farewell to ordering a Stealth Performance Model 3???

Welp, with the price reduction on the Model 3 and Model Ys as of 11 July, 2020, it seems that all Performance version Model 3s will come standard with what was previously the "Performance Upgrade Package" that includes the 20" rims, lowered suspension, bigger brakes. It seems that you can no...

    CAV Decal 2020

Thanks AZjohninCA.. It seems that the stickers arrived about sixteen hours after my post! LOL!! Go figure! I guess the hamsters at the USPS read this forum too. LOL All good now.. Now to put these on some PPF and then apply it to the car..

Tesla Charging now at Whole Foods - Ocean Ave, SF

A recent development is the installation of native Tesla charging plugs at the EVgo Charging stations at the Whole Foods Market on Ocean Ave, in San Francisco. 50kw Charging. I haven't tried it yet, but it's good to know that I can just pull that cable and plug in out there if needed now...

MASTER THREAD: "Acceleration Boost" option, discussion as to which models and how much quicker

Someone has even suggested a "dotted" line underneath the Dual Motor markings! LOL! I kind of like that, but I doubt I'd ever apply it.. =) That said, I'm not waiting for anything nice onscreen, but the chrome underline (or other suitable color) would have been nice to see onscreen.

    2020 Model 3 and differences from 2019

Same here. 9/2019 build with the frunk hooks, door pocket lighting and all of the stuff DopeGhoti mentioned. I complained about the lack of frunk mat, so they gave me one gratis as a goodwill gesture. I bought my own Apple Lightning cable. No biggo.

$2500 California Rebate: Forgot to apply (grace period/extension?)

We took delivery of our Model 3 the same week as yours. We applied and have received our $2,500 CVRP rebate in full. The $2500 check arrived in the mail just about 1.5 weeks ago. Hope that helps...

P3D crowd: Competing vs. high-performance ICE from a roll?

It'll all come in due time, just like the Model S Plaid edition. I could certainly go for a Model 3 Plaid!!

MASTER THREAD: "Acceleration Boost" option, discussion as to which models and how much quicker

do you have the red underline underneath “dual motor” on your screen? If so then you do have a full-on performance stealth.

MASTER THREAD: "Acceleration Boost" option, discussion as to which models and how much quicker

Same here.. No difference at all in ride/harshness nor ease of drivability. I might be a tad gentler now on the throttle in just relaxed driving around town, but If I want the speed/G-forces, it's right here underfoot..
  15. C

For AWD owners wanting a P3D-

A bit more on the low end is exactly what now sets the AWD+ behind from the full-on Performance version (asides from Track Mode). The P3Ds still pull on us by a carlength or two due to that. I'm pretty sure this behavior was intentional on Tesla's part. Other than that, the AWD+ seems really...

$2k boost upgraded Model 3 does 0-60 in 3.5 seconds...

The Acceleration Boost upgrade for $2000 USD does not include the track mode setting. It would be nice for Tesla to release that as another upgrade, but that's just wishing. If you want the track mode setting, you'll need to get a Performance version Model 3.

Hmm.. that may depend upon the insurance company. When I checked with mine, there was no difference between trim levels for my TM3 back in 9/2019 when I asked. They just had one quote for the TM3, or maybe I'm just in a different demographic that seems to have a lower risk to them.

MASTER THREAD: "Acceleration Boost" option, discussion as to which models and how much quicker

Here are my impressions on the performance boost after pulling the "trigger" very early this AM in my garage. Seconds later, my car buzzed, whirred and the screen went blank, followed by a quick reboot. Once my TM3 regathered its composure, I looked onto my driving menu, and lo and behold...

For AWD owners wanting a P3D-

Hmm.. I'm about 35 pounds lighter than you. So maybe!! And about 51F at sea level here out West, so definitely mild temps compared to what you have in PA. I have a 990 rear motor, 9/2019 build, on skinny stock Primacy 18s with the nerdy aero covers still on there. LOL.. Makes me more innocuous...

For AWD owners wanting a P3D-

:D I just went out for a "drive" just now after the boost was applied early this AM.. 80% SOC, 51F, flat roads and man.. you've gotta be half-dead NOT to notice the difference at launch, and especially as you say between 40mph up.. TONS more oomph here.. Of course, not quite P3D levels, but...

MASTER THREAD: "Acceleration Boost" option, discussion as to which models and how much quicker

Yes and No. It seems to depend upon delivery date. Different spec Inverter in the rear motor unit between the Perfomance and standard LRAWD built on/about/after April/May 2019. 980s are P/N for the rear motor assembly with inverter, vs 990 P/N on the rear motor assembly for the standard LRAWDs...

For AWD owners wanting a P3D-

Welp.. after several weeks of thinking "dang.. I should have just traded in my LR AWD for a sleeper." ... I sat in the garage last night with the car for a few minutes, and pulled the trigger.. Welcome "Chill | Sport" now with the upgrade!! Sure, even after this, I'm still only halfway there...

MASTER THREAD: "Acceleration Boost" option, discussion as to which models and how much quicker

IF you have not yet taken delivery of your Long Range AWD car yet, see if your SA can find you a Stealth Long Range Performance model (on 18" or 19" wheels) for the SAME $2000 spent. The Stealth Performance will give you even MORE performance than this Acceleration upgrade for the same money.
  25. C

Will an AWD w/o FSD check the source code of their upgrade page for acceleration boost option info?

I have a 2019 LR AWD non-performance w/o FSD (build date 9/2019), and I see the upgrade text about the Acceleration Boost in my Tesla account for this car. I am also now on 40.2 as well.

    Model 3 AWD 0-60

Hmm. 447 bhp seems like a lot for a standard non-P LR AWD by any measure. I think I'd be fairly happy with that, but the preliminary 0-60 stats with 2019.36 that I'm getting are nowhere near reflecting that level of power. Turning the clock back a bit, 367 bhp at the wheels seems to be what...

    Model 3 AWD 0-60

Yes. Updated my post to reflect that. =)

    Model 3 AWD 0-60

My best on my LRAWD (non-P) so far was a 4.27 verified 0-60 total, or same run = 3.97 with 1-ft rollout) prior to the upgrade with 81% SoC via my Dragy.. I need to try this again now that I am on .36..

OK ... what is Tesla trying to do now?

I'm not a huge fan of Tesla Customer Service, but I will say that it seems that they are trying to improve the accuracy of delivery estimates this quarter compared to last quarter. Last quarter, all the estimate I ever had when looking online was "within 2 weeks". Unless something catastrophic...

11 issues on new car - Tesla SC quotes almost $700 to fix 7 of them?

Picking up Model 3 AWD tomorrow - what to expect?

Family first. You have your priorities straight. It's not like they are discontinuing red LR AWD TM3s. Tesla, like any other company just wants to close the sale. They can make another one in just a little while and send it your way. Best wishes to you and your loved ones. I know it is...

Anyone getting 2 Years Free Supercharging/Upgrades

I checked on or about 10/3 and my 2 yrs of free supercharging are enabled - at least that's how it appears from my SA's screen. I took delivery on 9/21.

Tesla offering free supercharging on Model 3's

Yup. local sales management approved my 2 years of free supercharging this AM. Personally, as I don't SC ever really, I'd rather it be a set amount of mileage, and then I can go hit the SCs as needed on long trips. Either way, I'm glad I have it now. Yay.

Something possibly missing from my frunk

nope, my LRAWD was missing the frunk mat as well. I took delivery on 9/21. That said, I did get some random plastic scraps in the frunk left over from the assembly process. Wohoo! #wasntimpressed.

Anyone getting 2 Years Free Supercharging/Upgrades

Nothing on my account other than the standard 1000 miles of free SC. All this despite the fact that I ordered on 8/29, took delivery on 9/21. Sigh.
