    Wireless phone charger 3/Y MagSafe

Can you share how to dealt with the wire after it leaves the magsafe puck? I see you have it aimed behind the screen. Then where do you enter the dash to start hiding it? (I need to get that cord into the FRONT of the center console where I have power, not to the rear ports). I've just started...

    Wireless phone charger 3/Y MagSafe

Laminated windshields (all modern cars) do an excellent job of UV-filtering. Heat is another thing, but you shouldn't see much damage from the UV at least.

    Wireless phone charger 3/Y MagSafe

The normal charging area. That can be hidden under that front hatch (note that I have an early car before the console refresh) When my car was new (2018) everybody made a Qi charging mat. I bought one of the early ones, and it works great. Great except that it only charges at about 5W on a good...

    Wireless phone charger 3/Y MagSafe

I really appreciate you working out this great solution and sharing it, BTW. I was poking around looking for true MagSafe charging solutions (vs the stuff that's limited to 7.5W on Iphone.) And while I'm still looking for the solution that keeps the phones down below and charges at full rate, I...

    Wireless phone charger 3/Y MagSafe

I know a bit OT, but still related! Why does it seem like nobody makes a charging pad for the factory lower charging area that will accept the Apple MagSafe puck? I'd love to have full-speed MagSafe 15W charging down in that console area. But am amazed to find that this hasn't been done yet?

Yes! And not just for RHD, but also for the passenger to use.

Air Lift for rear coils of Model 3?

OH! Looks like they still want some disassembly though. In previous installs, I've been able to stuff everything through the coils.

Air Lift for rear coils of Model 3?

Outstanding! And thank you for including some great pictures too!

Air Lift for rear coils of Model 3?

I can tell you that I never did. My intent was to add a trailer hitch, but I didn't get to that yet either. So far I haven't missed having bags on the back. But if somebody confirms what ACTUALLY fits and works, that may just put me over the top and do it. I so liked having them on past cars.

    Side pillar camera fog

In fact they DO know my specific situation. Because I explained it to them in excruciating detail. The issue I'm having is quite obvious. Yet they call it "as designed" and offer no solution. Good to hear that the latest vehicles have addressed this. Is it true that none of the new vehicles...

    Side pillar camera fog

Great information! Thanks for taking the time to share. Again I assume this also applies to the Model 3's of 2018 vintage? I've never been sure how the BMS warmed up the drivetrain components. I can certainly try this. And if it works, it begs the question: Why aren't the service centers at...

    Side pillar camera fog

Hi Mr. Canoe. Thanks for the input. I guess that I didn't mention that my car is a Model 3. But that really doesn't matter in this context. No, I do not regularly precondition. One reason is that I do not have a regular schedule for using the car. The other reason is that I have a severe...

    Side pillar camera fog

OK, I'm coming in a bit late on the thread. I have both B-pillar cameras AND the front pod on the windshield fogging up. My service center calls it nothing to worry about as long as it eventually clears up on its own. Well, except for a few details: 1. I paid thousands for FSD. And of course...

They tell me that there IS no seal on purpose. They want it to "breathe" so we get this.

    First-Gen RAV4 EV (1996-2003)

exactly. That's one of the best parts is being able to charge on today's standard. Back in the day we were trying just to change that one aspect (adding J1772 input). But that required a new charger of course so was a bit.... uh... inconvenient.

How to purchase replacement "small parts" for Model 3

I'm happy to report that my purchase arrived, and the parts are indistinguishable from the OEM versions. I snapped in the new ones, and put everything back together. Just like new! Whole bag of them for the cost of a few from Tesla. AND they actually delivered. Big win. Thanks again.

How to purchase replacement "small parts" for Model 3

No way! After all this my service center STILL has not been able to turn these up for me. And that's after physically showing up there twice after them telling me they had them. Oops! I guess they didn't show up. Unreal. Thanks for finding these and posting. Helps in this specific situation...

How to purchase replacement "small parts" for Model 3

It is a good question though. Why does service think that we can create an account and order from that catalogue? And more importantly... why can't we?? (clearly because they have no sales infrastructure built up for that yet). If anybody cares (and really, who would?!) that plastic piece above...

How to purchase replacement "small parts" for Model 3

Dang! That's not quite sustainable. But still happy to hear of the support. I hope they can clean this up and make a simple way to order small parts to be delivered in more traditional, sustainable ways.

How to purchase replacement "small parts" for Model 3

Sweet. Thanks! That actually worked. Looks like the clip I'm after is: Apron Trim Clip 10X2.5 1092696-00-B Wouldn't it be super if they actually had a "parts" option in the service section of the app. And then perhaps even a place to submit the part number and have it return what it can...

How to purchase replacement "small parts" for Model 3

Asking for Model 3 but of course this pertains to any of the cars. I need some new plastic clips...the ones that hold the cover down above the frunk that covers the HVAC air intake and the 12V battery etc. The wipers are just above. I don't know what to call this part, nor the clips. And while...

    Neck pillows

I've ordered from Russia! The guy in charge is making custom embroidery for me (the horizontal lines of the original 3 logo that I like so much. One-day turn-around on the custom stuff. Amazing. But then... expected 1-2 months shipping. sigh.

    How about a plastic sub-trunk liner/carrier?

I'm going to wake up this thread again. Note that I've been running around with a cheap liner in the sub-trunk that is doing 80% of what I want. But I still haven't found that ideal product that I've wanted all along. Today's quest is slightly less ambitions, but definitely along the same lines...

Model 3 Pulling to Right (FW Bug!)

One thing I give them credit for: Not once did they tell me that "it's normal for cars to do that." Or "That's what road crown does." Because those are the lines I've gotten from damn near every other tire shop over the years that can't figure out how to properly align a car. I swear, they treat...

Model 3 Pulling to Right (FW Bug!)

I'm now back from my third visit to my local Service Center for my car pulling to the right. What I've learned by paying super-close attention every day is that some days it is bad, some days it is perfect, and some days it makes me file like I'm nuts because it is clearly off, but not enough to...

    How about a plastic sub-trunk liner/carrier?

What I want may well exist in the web-verse today. But I haven't found it yet. Or to put it another way: This is what folks were saying one and two years ago, but it didn't exist then either. I know that there are liners! Many are linked and shown in this thread. Just not in the configuration...
  33. EVnut

    How about a plastic sub-trunk liner/carrier?

No, it doesn't need a lid. The difference is that what I want is a single tub, the exact shape of the well. Without wasted space. Without dividers. Without two levels. And WITH handles (these could just be ovals cut in the sides near the top, or rope handles that flop inside out of the way...

How and when does the 12v battery get charged?

Thanks for the link Alan. The one thing I know after years of modifications and research into the Moss Magnuson Warranty Act: There's NOTHING you can do to the car that will legally "void the warranty" if it cannot be proved that what you did broke the thing you're trying to have repaired...

    How about a plastic sub-trunk liner/carrier?

Thanks for posting that, Holey. It looks lovely and practical in some ways.... for those who don't have anything big and leaky or don't wish to have a way to tote what goes in there. I'm still looking for that elusive full-volume, drop-in liner that has carry handles on the top. So you fill the...

    How about a plastic sub-trunk liner/carrier?

OK, I've returned 1.5 years later to see who's taken up the challenge to create my perfect trunk liner/carrier. And I can't see the answer through all these crickets! Gaaa. :-)

Model 3 Pulling to Right (FW Bug!)

Oh man. That's next-level bad. I don't understand what they could be thinking here. Interestingly enough, my journey to the "right-pull" started without it pulling right as well. I just got new tires and wanted an alignment check. And ever since then, no amount of alignments or tire swaps or a...

Model 3 Pulling to Right (FW Bug!)

Thanks for all that info on the part. And yes this is so odd. There's always the folks who chime in and say that there's nothing different about aligning a Tesla. And I always thought that was true. I mean how could there be a difference? Well... now I'm experiencing the difference first hand...

How and when does the 12v battery get charged?

Hmmm. OK. Now poking around for THAT info. I hadn't heard of anybody brave enough to try and "go direct to the DC/DC converter."

How and when does the 12v battery get charged?

As a user of a 12V fridge-freezer myself (ARB in my case) I'd like to recommend that folks wire in a proper power connector somewhere. (I use Anderson Powerpole connectors). Using the old "cigarette lighter" standard is sketchy at best... as others have mentioned about it falling out due to...

Model 3 Pulling to Right (FW Bug!)

Part of me feels good to not be alone. And yet... Sucks to see this happening to so many. Different mounting points? That must make for a retrofit challenge. Would the part number of the rack tell us anything? It is: LHD(1044831-00-H)

Model 3 Pulling to Right (FW Bug!)

I see a lot of threads on this... now that I'm having the issue. My AWD Model 3 was built in Aug 2018. I wore out a set of tires in 30k miles, the insides were feathered and worn way more. So with new tires I went to get an alignment. At this point, the car went straight reliable, and I only...

    Service Center - Sacramento, CA

So to answer my own question: It WILL be a showroom. It HAS a show-room. Just no cars or anything else to show just yet. I'm told it will be at the end of 2021 when it is open. The area is currently just blocked off. The service writers are in a seemingly temporary area. The service bays are...

Only shows up as "service" on the Find Us page though. Does anybody know if this really is a showroom as well? I have a service appointment here on Tuesday, and I have friends who'd like to kick some tires. Trying to figure out if it is worth their time to go. No phone number for sales. Only...

    TeslaCam issues (mid 2020)

I feel your pain. When I first realized this it was quite a shock. I've never been sure WHEN those files are deleted (and I certainly don't know why) but for sure they're deleted before the next time the car is driven. We had a situation in my town where an officer was shot in the middle of...

    TeslaCam issues (mid 2020)

I can't say why you would or would not want to view unsaved driving video. But I can tell you why *I* do: I'm not the only driver. When other family members return, there are sometimes reasons that I want to view past video. And even when I'm driving, some events that happen in real time don't...

    TeslaCam issues (mid 2020)

I wasn't aware that the iPhone (All iPhones the same?) had a USB version designation. Good to know. But to answer your wonderment.... 3.0 would get me exactly 1.0 more than 2.0. More has to be better, right? Like my amp that goes to 11. No idea about the powered aspect. Doubtful though, since...

    TeslaCam issues (mid 2020)

Good point. And yeah, probably not a limiting factor in this. And since made by Apple, at least I can trust that it actually IS USB 2.0. The no-brand ones that say USB 3.0.... who knows? Even better are the ones that don't even let you know the version. Just USB. Yay.
