The Universal Mobile Connector is no longer standard equipment with new orders after 8 July 2022??

Over the last 7 weeks I did over 7,000km around NSW, VIC and SA. I used the UMC more times then not overnight at our accomodation. I wouldn’t do a road trip without a UMC. I am glad they have dropped the price as it may be the only way I can get 10amp and 15amp tails.

ARENA Future Fuels Fund - fast chargers

Maybe it's not the existing EVIE ones they are worried about? I'd say it's locating NEW Evie charging spots. They probably don't want to install them near an existing NRMA one. Let's face it, NRMA have done an excellent job putting them 100 to 200KM across most of the state, which means Evie...

A Sydneysider thinking of a holiday in Tasmania

When leaving the ferry, don‘t start your engine until the car in front starts to move. Need to minimise pollution for the workers getting the cars off. Seriously, I turned sentry mode off so I wouldn’t record everybody walking past my car. I also pressed the park break. I don’t normally press...

    Superchargers in Australia

I've been on a road trip in NSW and SEQ for the last 2 weeks. I just noticed the Toowoomba (24-May) and Tamworth (26-May) superchargers I was charged $0.58kWh. All other superchargers prior to those two were $0.51kWh. Did I miss a price change, or have these two locations always been higher? How...

    Evie EV charging networks

Wow, I drove through there on the 25th of April and there was none of this activity. That is impressive progress in under 2 weeks! When they are ready to move, they can move fast. These will be way better than detouring via Goulburn Chargefox/Tesla.

National and State Renewable Energy stats

So if we take this across the NEM states (NSW, ACT, Qld, Vic, SA, Tas), there probably are NO times the wind/solar isn't available with them covering each other. And if we could get WA and NT, and even NZ into the NEM (ANZ EM??), we could have more renewal generation outside each states peak...

A Sydneysider thinking of a holiday in Tasmania

I’m travelling in Tasmania at the moment. I have charged at Devonport Supercharger, King Meadows, Scottsdale x 2, St Helen’s x 2 and Swansea without even seeing another EV. I did have to wait 5 minutes for the Cradle Mountain info centre destination charger. I have been also able charge...

    ChargeFox EV charging Network

I had an interesting experience at the Euora Chargefox chargers yesterday. Pull up to stall 5138 (350kW) and plugged the car in and tapped my token to activate. A moment later the following message appears on the very little screen... Charging is delayed until power is available And about 30...

    NRMA fast charging network

I usually don’t check into Tesla, Chargefox or Evie sites on Plugshare as I use and expect other drivers use those companies apps to check if the charger is available. Their apps give live status of the sites, usually much better than relying on PlugShare. I always check in at NRMA sites as...

    Evie EV charging networks

I don't think the 50kW one is free. It's not an NRMA owned unit, it is a ChargeFox owned unit with an NRMA (and other) logos on it. And to keep this on topic... Evie have no units between Sydney and Taree... hope they change that soon. Good spot would be the BP station at Beresfield as you come...

    Evie EV charging networks

I can confirm that using an Evie card (and Chargefox fob) both work with the EXPLOREN network. Our local council use Exploren and I have used both Evie card and Chargefox fob to kick off the charging session. Exploren allows multiple tags to be associated to the account. Always nice to not have...

    Supercharger - Devonport, Tas

Talking to the guys who direct the cars on and off at each end. They absolute love EV's coming onboard. It means one less polluting ICE. Even with signs all over the place to asking vehicle owners to leave their engines off whilst waiting to disembark, there is a LOT of pollution being...

    Charging - South Coast (NSW)

It also looks like you have a late 2021 LR. ABRP suggests you can get to Mollymook and back without a charge, starting with a 100% SoC. And still have 16% of the battery left over. Then you just need to cover your usage at Mollymook and side trips.

When did you start to see battery degradation

Originally yes, but some have been "unlocked" to go to 100%. Mudgee definitely is unlocked for 100%. Over time, I have also charged over 95% at Berry [Apr-2021], Jugiong [Jun-2021], Port Macquarie [Nov-2021] Edit: I pretty sure you know this, but you do need to press the 100% button on the...

When did you start to see battery degradation

My range has had an interesting time over the last 2 months... Teslafi noted a 25KM drop off early October. Then late November I did a 1,000KM trip and it jumped back up. I think the jump back up was around the time I charged to 100% on the Mudgee NRMA charger. Otherwise, my degradation is...

    Is this battery performance normal?

I think it covers more than just right hand drive cars, for 2 reasons... 1) The "Fleet Battery Data Settings" screen has this.... 2) In the "Fleet Battery Data" section (underneath the settings), if you drill into the cars you are comparing against, you get LHD and RHD cars.. For me, here is...

    Is this battery performance normal?

Thanks. This now makes sense. Your settings are less restrictive them mine. My settings represent similar cars (2019) with similar KM's (100miles) and closer charge temperature (5 degrees). I must have tighten up many moons ago as I don't remember doing it. I might play around with releasing...

1 month 3 days without charging. After charging to 96% before lock down. Current charge level is 30% or 24% cold battery level. 130km driven and it has lost 250kms. It wakes up once or twice a day and has had one firmware update. Sentry mode is not on at home.

    Is this battery performance normal?

Here is my 2019 SR+ battery relative to other SR+'s world wide. I have always been below the "average", but seem to be heading back to the "normal" over the last 6 months since I have occasionally charged it to 100% and driven it down to under 15%. That last spurt up from 20,000km was a...

I have it on good authority Cobar has a project with NRMA to get a fast charger installed. A location has been selected and is well along in design. ARENA Future Fuels Fund - fast chargers

NRMA typically only put one charger in. The announcement says "each capable of charging at least two vehicles concurrently at 50 kW or above.". That's probably why NRMA is left out. Also, it's not NRMA's core business, so with all this new money, they may pull back. They have been the kick...

    Evie EV charging networks

My observations is that they are at least a 6 month project, possibly even 9 months. There is site scouting and selection. Then approvals. Very nice and certainly is welcome. First run through the announcement it looks like NRMA and Tesla don't have anything. The maps also don't have anything in country/outback areas. Targetting populated areas in round 1. Hopefully round 2+ will expand to the country areas.

And to add that... electricity isn't free... don't expect the "free charging" "loop hole" to exist for ever... take it if you can, but don't get upset when it goes away.
