Tesla Supercharging - SC05 - Transfer supercharging workaround?

Still have free supercharging, no changes within my account whatsoever... X is a 2019 build, pre-Raven...

Wow, the grilling needed to get SolarEdge monitoring access...

Ah, that does make it easy - I haven't yet had a chance as I would need to drill through the wall where the inverter is mounted and run a cable through... or, find one of those USB-powered ethernet bridge devices that I can throw in there (assuming that the USB power is constantly powered that's...

Tesla Supercharging - SC05 - Transfer supercharging workaround?

True, but, that could be as simple as a name spelling correction, address change, removing of a secondary person on a title (which is technically what I did - removing the company name), or payoff/lien change. But, there's no identifying information without a complete pull/records request...

Tesla Supercharging - SC05 - Transfer supercharging workaround?

Car makers don't get DMV title transfer notices since it doesn't concern them. I recently had to move the X from the company name into my name - it doesn't concern Tesla and if the DMV does release that information, that's going to be a major privacy issue and I'm sure someone will go after the...

Wow, the grilling needed to get SolarEdge monitoring access...

You need to reach out to Tesla to have them assign you rights to read your system as they get the data directly from it... Check my first post in this thread. You can do a chat with them and ask them for SolarEdge monitoring access. After that, you will still need to get the inverter connected...

Tesla app version 4.0.0 has app re design for both car and energy

Have to say that I've been using this for months (since the install back at the end of May) and it's definitely a handy utility to keep running...

    PowerWalls offline

Not seeing an outage, but, did get a firmware update a few hours ago... 21.31.2... Wonder if your outage coincided with an attempted firmware install?
  8. M

Wow, the grilling needed to get SolarEdge monitoring access...

Ha, yeah - I know some have been able to do that (by taking ownership).. When they were installing the panels, I had requested access then and said I wanted to be able to monitor them, so, they said they'd had to install the optimizers (which I guess they weren't going to do)... At the end of...

Wow, the grilling needed to get SolarEdge monitoring access...

Finally, after months since install and over a year since I first reached out to get solar... got PTO yesterday... I asked for SolarEdge monitoring access, and it seems like the grilling is insane.. Would be easier to have a web request form than this: My response to those two questions...

    Possible frozen AC evaporator

The vehicle prioritizes battery cooling rather than passenger cooling. A number of us have experienced it (in one of the subforums, there's more posts about this). I had this happen when my wife was pregnant a couple of years ago - hot day out and the AC went out... Went over to a nearby service...

Recommended way to get hourly grid data?

Yeah, they've had that notice up there (retiring and whatnot), but, still allow for it (and provide the rebate) - I added mine earlier this year without a problem, even though the notice was still there.. It seems like they have haven't gotten around to stopping the program... I'm guessing...
  13. M

Recommended way to get hourly grid data?

One SCE, you can actually get the Vue for free (or almost free)... SCE will give you a $25 rebate for adding a HAN device, which the Vue is one, and, on sale, you can sometimes get it for $25 (or lower)... The Vue is definitely a nice thing to add to the power arsenal...

Tesla Solar vs ....[third party competitors]

Those aren't the panels used for the Tesla solar panel installs (which are now the ~420W)... That comparison guide is a little skewed. Solar panels do their job - the efficiency and whatnot play a role, but, when you look at the percentages and how many watts, and so on. You can probably make...

MX Key Fob Battery - 2354 or 2032??

Be careful of the Amazon ones - not all of them are genuine (or they are used/third party)... @invisik - you can try Batteries - Phone Repairs - Light Bulbs - Chargers - Batteries Plus Bulbs and order from them... I just ordered one today, $5.80 for pick up since there's one near me... Up in...

Issue with Go Off Grid Function

Looks like the option in the v3 app disappeared now.. I had it and had paired my phone, but, checking now (since my system was upgraded to 21.31.1 not too long ago) and don't see it there.

V4 of app drops Balanced/Cost Saving (Advanced Time-Based Control) options. Replaced with Time-Based Control

Wonder if this is why the v4 app is still delayed in Google Play Store... Seems like there's still too many kinks to work out and they released it too early.

    Tire selection for Model X

Yeah, and I'm thinking it probably happened after my shudder repair occurred... Prior to that, the tire wear seemed to have been even. Not sure if something had been done or set back in correctly or adjust when they replaced the components for that. Of course, it could still be my fast...

How do I communicate with Tesla about my project?

Did you try the main Tesla number? (877) 798-3752
  21. M

    Tires

Correct - the easiest way is (if you want to stick to the stock Tesla design), pick up a set of front wheels and use them w/275s (or 265s) and go square... Then you can rotate without issue... The problem becomes with the stock set if the rear wheels themselves move up, since they are slightly...

    Tires

275/45 R20 will work... If you switch out your wheels to thinner ones, you can put 275s all around.. (Or, get a set of front wheels only and put them on the back with 275s on them). I'm running 275/45R20s all around on my X and no rubbing issue or wear marks.

How do I communicate with Tesla about my project?

@xwang - What @ericl mentioned is the way I handled it.. I was given an advisor that was probably inattentive and never answered or returned calls.. Until I called in and spoke with someone else that actually took the time to help me and get things going.. Then, I got an e-mail from her (my...

    Tire selection for Model X

Not at all - I am more than likely going to need to get the alignment done to make sure there isn't a real big problem (or control my cornering speeds)... But, they technically did wear symmetrically, haha... The fronts both wore out on the outsides and down to the low tread, the rears wore out...

Best wheels for X P90D for ride comfort and range

Probably a combination of a few things... For the rear = more power/launch/rabbit starts and weight bias would ideally require more surface area (the best you can do for the given space/diameter that the X was designed for)... For the fronts = there's a lot of stuff that can be rubbed against...
  28. M

    Tire selection for Model X

Not sure what tire shops are around you, but, if you have an Americas/Discount Tire, the 275 option is validated as an all around... They don't force you to go staggered... I went with 275/45r20 all around last month so I can do rotations... My factory OEMs lasted just under 13k miles... The...

Tesla app version 4.0.0 has app re design for both car and energy

Since I don't have the new layout yet (Android), I took a quick look over on the iOS download page... interestingly, Tesla decided to use Friday the 13th to capture screens: So, makes sense why some might think of the change as horrific :p

    Software v21.31.0

Anyone notice this new behavior with the update? I'm in Self-Powered mode... The Powerwalls have been slowly filling up after the sun had set through the occasional grid siphon, I would say... At 17%, the Powerwalls auto-switch to Self-Powered w/85% Reserve... And I am seeing in the app a...

Tesla Supercharging - SC05 - Transfer supercharging workaround?

Yes, that is correct... Mainly, changing account information and giving someone else control works best if there's only 1 vehicle and no other Tesla products involved, well, unless those other things are part of the transaction :p

2019 Raven, can I manually open the charge door

The charge door release button on the handle is RFID, I believe? It's definitely not NFC... When I'm at a Supercharger, I can press the button when I grab hold of the charger and the charge door pops open. I heard that if another vehicles is next to you (with charge door still closed), it'll...

Tesla Supercharging - SC05 - Transfer supercharging workaround?

I changed the name and e-mail account (my own account) about a year into purchase - no repercussions... I still have my free supercharging, and so on.. The Tesla account changeover isn't a transfer of ownership in their system, it's account management... If you buy the vehicle under a company...

    PowerWalls offline

With this discussion, I'm guessing we'll see a remote reset tool for the TEG coming out in the future on Amazon... Or Tesla will implement something, probably, the address this concern...

    PowerWalls offline

I have a small plastic tube (scrap plastic) that I left in there to make it easy to reach... Haven't tried a pen/pencil to see if that would work, but, if that works, that's definitely easier for most - trim it down so the switchbot can press it. I'm sure a pen or pencil should work since it...

    PowerWalls offline

Since my TEG is in the garage, I don't really care if the panel is open or closed (or removed)... So, the switchbot would work in that instance... But, yes, do agree that they could implement a software reset option (however, if the software has hung, then, the physical reset button may still...

    SCE/Edison PTO notification question

Yes, you definitely want to initiate the change prior to PTO (you can do it afterwards, it doesn't matter, but, if they try and submit the SGIP application for funding, it will get rejected until your TOU is changed)... If you have your equipment in place, you can, as many others have done...

Used Model X without EAP or FSD

With EAP, the FSD upgrade should be $5k... However, I believe that was only if you had EAP prior to the price changes... You may want to get a confirmation screenshot from their account on the upgrade pricing (it should be listed in their vehicle's upgrade page). My account shows FSD for $5k...

    Speed adjustment when using autopilot

Also, don't forget that Tesla vehicles contribute driving speeds back to the Tesla corporate, and the vehicle will adjust up/down based on "Tesla-sourced" aggregate data... When I want to skip the freeways for my ~40 miles to work, I take some single lane highways or back roads... The speed...

2 FF Carseats in 3rd Row

Tesla stopped adding LATCH to the 3rd row in the X... At least they did for a brief period, not sure if they have added them again, but, I remember sometime in late 2019 or early 2020, that some Xs didn't have LATCH in the 3rd row, and the user manual reflected that. I think there was a...

Just need to insert a plastic piece in there lined up with the reset button... SCE/Edison PTO notification question

You don't receive notice of the PTO application from SCE - they have an online portal for that, which the installer logs in to and manages... The installer can check the portal and see what the status is on the application... When you do receive PTO, you will be notified, by e-mail, or door...

    PowerWalls offline

Seems like I might pick up a Switchbot (on Amazon) or something similar just in case that were to ever happen... Though, having a reset option in the gateway itself would make things easier (not sure if there's anything in the API that would allow for it)...
