    MX Plaid Widebody build

Yes you can use weather stripping as well. Especially if the flares are exposed carbon, and they can't be reworked with any bodywork. I did this method on my last X and it turned out good. IMO it only works on darker color vehicles as it blends in alot better. I didn't want to do this on the...

    MX Plaid Widebody build

I think just the flares would look off without the lip/sideskirt extensions. Here's some close up pics to give you an idea Front view of lip to flare. (keep in mind mine don't line up perfect..but best I could get with using an older style lip) Front flare, rear view. You can see how it meets...

    MX Plaid Widebody build

Front's needed modification(extended 1"). Rears fit pretty well. I did not want to mold the flares to the body for a few reasons... anytime you bond a composite(fiberglass) to an alloy (metal body) there is always a chance of a crack/failure point there. Yes there are ways to fuse them together...

Show off your aftermarket Model X wheels...

It's out for the X, but only fits NON-Refreshed models. They had no ETA for the refreshed models so I modified the old kit to work. I have a write up post in the main thread with more pictures.

Aftermarket CF rear diffuser - Model X

I agree mostly with you. (playing a little devils advocate) But I think the 38K also includes a full interior re-wrap, Wheels/Tires, etc. If I had to guess.. 10-15k max or so for all of that. Not including labor/paint/etc. I still think the 38k is absurd, but if people will pay it...then the...

    MX Plaid Widebody build

Thanks. Not too worried, the PPF is a pretty good barrier. And worst case it cracks..there's always sanding and repainting 🤣 👍 The Teslas have such large wheel wells, I like the look of the spokes to go all the way to the edge(VS a regular wheel with a step lip). What wheel style would you have...

    MX Plaid Widebody build

Finished the widebody build on the wife's plaid, figured I'd share some build pics here. I used CMST's widebody kit, but unfortunately it's not made for the refreshed X's (Tesla changed up the front bumper, front flares, and rear undertray) so documenting what had to be done for fitment. Might...

21+ Refresh Radar Detector Hardwired installation

Thanks for the info. I metered those wires with my Fluke and I got 15V constant. Circuit wouldn't shut off when doors were closed and locked.(although I didn't check/wait until the car went to full sleep mode). I feel more comfortable tapping off an AUX power like CIG lighter and know 100% it's...

    Poor Plaid QC

Stoked my Plaid X finally came in.(ordered 01/05/21) Went down to pick it up and upon doing a walk-through noticed some issues. This isn't to bash Tesla, but to show the lack of QC coming off of the factory. For a ~ 150K car this shouldn't even be a question... but I think they are trying to...

    MPP Comfort Coilover reviews?

Finally got my MPP coils in. Went in pretty smooth. Only have about 100miles of seat time but I love them. Firm yet no sacrifice in ride quality. Started with MPP’s recommended “sport” settings for the performance. (70mm front, 18mm rear) Didn’t quite get the stance I wanted so ended up @ 60mm...

Tail Light Retrofit- AMBER turn signal

Thanks guys. To me it's more of a safety thing. Having a dedicated brighter/visible color is reassuring..especially with all the airhead drivers out there. Also, installed the F1 rain light back there which should get their attention too:). I really wanted the internals blacked out(I HATE...

Tail Light Retrofit- AMBER turn signal

One thing I've always hated about my 3 was how they use the Brake light as the turn signal. I'm a big believer in a dedicated color(amber) for turn signal. Unfortunately a lot of manufactures are going away from that in favor for the brake/turn combo. Maybe it's cost savings.IDK, but I am out...
