    Tesla Software updates - Australia

2019 M3P Fremont with FSD on 2022.24.8 Enjoying the ability to have the sideview when indicating in the higher position.
  2. m4rtin

Is FSD Beta under employee test in Australia

Definitely good they're looking outside USA and to RHD markets. Not sure if they're looking for easy or hard, more likely looking for where they'll sell more FSD

Is FSD Beta under employee test in Australia

But it's for Japan... makes sense to do a bigger market first unfortunately for us

Tesla map and police radar etc

I use Waze on the charging mat, I have a 2019 so it's aftermarket (Jeda) and I even upgraded it to have a MagSafe one (since the older one didn't work with the new iPhone ffs). I think it does comply like a holder, but IANAL, and I don't touch it when driving anyway. For those saying "don't...

    App recommendations?

Charging I use Charge HQ to charge only from excess solar (and in Winter to schedule charge to a different maximum which is then added to by solar). Stats++ TeslaFi (though there are a few that do the same) is great for recording trip data, and I use it to see which software versions are...

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

This caught me out too with a recent change, the "secret" is the top nav bar appears if you tap the very top (just above the Netflix app display area) and then you'll see the magical x to close the app.

    Charge HQ

This is the same process for any 3rd party service like Teslafi and so on since Tesla doesn't have another way for this to work AFAIK. Anyway, at this point in time I trust Teslafi and Charge HQ. Charge HQ is Sydney-based btw. If smart summon worked they could get your car to drive to them. But...

NSW Tesla Energy Plan VPP Virtual Power Plant

I've now been told by Energy Locals this is not true... waiting on another Support response.
  13. m4rtin

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

BTW the release notes state this is dependent on hardware, so maybe my M3P 2019 misses out.

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

This seems fixed on 2022.16.1.1 which just arrived.

    Tesla Software updates - Australia

I had the 0.2 with the 0.3 arriving a day later. I don't see the option at "To enable, tap Controls > Pedals & Steering > Apply Brakes When Regenerative Braking Is Limited." though

NSW Tesla Energy Plan VPP Virtual Power Plant

Plot twist, contradicting the earlier response on Twitter the Energy Locals Support ticket finally got a reply (10 days after opening). The response states that GreenPower can be added to the VPP plan. See screenshot.

NSW Tesla Energy Plan VPP Virtual Power Plant

I hadn’t realised there was no GreenPower option with this plan. Have got confirmation from Energy Locals of that fact. Now trying to find out why. I assume the calculations would be far more complex to be fair if there is a surcharge for GreenPower but the FI from the Powerwall pays the same...

NSW Tesla Energy Plan VPP Virtual Power Plant

Now that ReAmped just increased their prices I’ve been shopping around again. I find this VPP deal hard to compare given how different it is. How are people doing the maths here? What are the assumptions?
  20. m4rtin

NSW Tesla Energy Plan VPP Virtual Power Plant

Thinking on this, the FIT is from the Powerwall and/or solar?
  21. m4rtin

NSW Tesla Energy Plan VPP Virtual Power Plant

My solar is east-west and that might be ok in Summer but not much export happening during those times this time of year onwards :(
  22. m4rtin

NSW Tesla Energy Plan VPP Virtual Power Plant

Similar to Tesla Energy Plan / Virtual Power Plant (South Australia) but now available in NSW, or at least I just notified I'm now eligible. Came to me via the Tesla app inbox. Need to run the numbers to see if this makes any sense, wondering if anyone has already done the same. Links went to...

    Charge HQ

2 weeks in and I love this thing. I had previously tried to manually top up using excess solar but with the limitations of the Tesla app and the sun power keep changing it was rubbish. No need for new hardware which I'd been considering.
  25. m4rtin

    Charge HQ

I’m not sure, but I did notice it has a setting for scheduled charging which has this doco https://sites.google.com/chargehq.net/guide/settings/schedule

    Charge HQ

Heard Tesla Tom mention Charge HQ as something he's beta testing so went looking. Signed up for it myself and just got access, hoping to solve the "charge using excess solar using only a Tesla charger" problem. Anyone else here using/testing it? https://www.chargehq.net

    Charging Stats

No-one else using seasons? For reference these are the NSW AusGrid specs. The latest update can handle all of this if it can have 4 seasons.
  30. m4rtin

    Charging Stats

I can only add 3 seasons whereas AusGrid TOU has 4, how did people work around this or am I missing something?

    Numberplates mounted crooked

When I took delivery of mine there were a few defects. At collection they asked me to make a list and create a service request. This was during the first batch of M3s and they were a bit busy etc. So I did this, and this included the rear number plate not being level. They fixed it. I didn't...

Apple released iOS 1 or whatever it was called then with no copy/paste and the world was going to end. How could they do this? How could they not know this was needed. Model S/3/Y Pet Liner available in Australia

The door covers seem like a great design in theory but mine kept coming off. Not sure if it's when the door opens and it drops the window slightly or if my kids knocked it. Would prefer not to have to worry about it falling off. Also there's a little label on the door thing saying something like...

Powershop bought by Shell? Time to move…

Churned just now from Powershop, ended up going with ReAmped on the Advanced plan and GreenPower 100%. Sad to see such a low FIT but did the maths and this makes sense for me. Self-consumption FTW.

Powershop bought by Shell? Time to move…

Powershop bought by Shell? Time to move…
