2 die in Tesla crash - Report says "nobody was in driver seat"

Well, that's the way it happened. Perhaps the windows were thicker back then, but the basic principle still applies. It's much easier to break the window when the force is applied to a small area (point). Also better to hit the corner of the window where it's stiffened by the frame. Apparently...

2 die in Tesla crash - Report says "nobody was in driver seat"

I think that is practically impossible, at least for the side windows, since they are too strong. You might have better luck with the windshield, but still difficult. About 30 years ago, a friend and I happened upon a car that had driven off the road and through a parking lot, only to run into...

    SpaceX SN11 Experimental Test Vehicle

I take this as better news than some kind of design flaw where, for example, the engine doesn't have enough pressure (or some other issue) due to the landing flip maneuver. I would think a leak has relatively straightforward fixes that can be implemented quickly. Also, it seemed from watching...

Wow, blast from the past! I don't see it in the manual now, but I guess I had some now-forgotten source for that info. Probably someone else on TMC or maybe an Elon tweet. Perhaps someone else can chime in or test it.

Falcon Super Heavy/Starship - General Development Discussion

I believe the plan is that Super Heavy boosters will have grid fins, but not flaps or landing legs. They will do a re-entry burn and landing burn similar to Falcon 9. They will then be caught by their grid fins using some sort of "arms" attached to the launch tower. Believe it or not.

FSD Beta Videos (and questions for FSD Beta drivers)

I would say the screen inset is too small within the video frame, and there is too much sky at the top of the view. The wide angle was nice, but I would put the camera inside the car and frame things so the driving space is at the top and the inset of the screen is at the bottom where the...

FSD Beta Videos (and questions for FSD Beta drivers)

This is a big problem in the production EAP/NOA code also. It does not seamlessly handle objects going from one camera view to the next (for example, front to side, or side to front). You can see this manifested as the tracked vehicle suddenly shifting sideways towards or away from the Tesla as...

If we hear they have him on dexamethasone or Remdesivir, wouldn't that indicate that his case is substantially worse than "mild"?
