Awesome! I hope it happens this time.

    Supercharger - Lake Charles, LA

Update on my update: Ran into Tesla energy guy at channel view, he says the parts for Lake Charels and Baton Rouge should have arrived at his house in Houston today and if they did he will go tomorrow morning to repair.

Update: as of now Dec1 2021 8:30 am. LKC supercharger is down 2 stalls, others seem to work well.

    Supercharger - Lake Charles, LA

My Car says limited service at lake Charels now, any intel on how limited? I have a hard tim skipping it on my trips to MD Anderson Houston, my old car would need to spend a LONG time in channel view to make it home to lafayette without LKC.

    Supercharger - Beaumont, TX

The Restaurant in the hotel at Channelview is actually pretty good, I recommend the burger, the Dutch chef is excellent. That said, I can't wait for the Gen 3 to open up at Buccees a few miles away.

    Supercharger - Lafayette, LA

No issue at all for supercharger in Lafayette. If you encounter any problems hit me up, I have a house (on PlugShare) about a mile from Supercharger in Lafayette.
  7. A

    SuperCharger - Metairie, LA

Exciting! I'm in New Orleans all the time and this is going to fix so many issues in my life. Any body want to wager a guess if they will be on June 3rd? Based on my Lafayette experience, they will not be.

    SuperCharger - Metairie, LA

Subscribing for updates! This is really going to solve the main thorn in the side of my Tesla experience.
  9. A

    Supercharger - Beaumont, TX

Will the SR+ not do the 125 miles Lake Charels - Channelview? Or do you have the same issue I have waiting for a fairly high state of charge at either Supercharger, or the pain of needing to go TO Beaumont and make it back out? Disappointing development indeed, certainly my most anticipated...

    Supercharger - Lafayette, LA

    Here’s what I get.
  13. A

    Supercharger - Lafayette, LA

They are ALL down. I get “Supercharger stall out of service Try a different stall” at all plugs.
  14. A

    Supercharger - Lafayette, LA

I’ll check in about 30 minutes to see if any are working. In the past the temporary closure has meant that 1 or 2 individual plugs were not working. if you get stuck I’m on PlugShare super close by and have 80 amp HPWC
  15. A

    Supercharger - Beaumont, TX

Yup, it would still be nice to have decent infrastructure for my MD Anderson Trips from LFT. I guess the number of 300 + mile cars makes a supercharger in the area not as necessary, but you could certainly say the same for Lafayette. As a side note if anyone gets in a bind at the Lafayette...

    Supercharger - Lafayette, LA

If you get stuck hit me up, I’ve got a bunch of charging options in Lafayette many of which aren’t on PlugShare. One of which is walking distance from the supercharger. You can find my phone number on my PlugShare in Scott.
  17. A

    Supercharger - Lafayette, LA

It works, we are just down to 4 stalls. There is a massive water leak that I’m assuming is preventing the others from being turned on.

Looks like it belongs at Lake Tahoe.

Master charger replacement in San Diego, CA

Heat cycles and vibration mainly. My fuse has 10,000 miles on it so far, no issues to report. I did replace the pair though.

    85kW battery charge data

I'm in the same boat as everyone else. I made 2 identical 800 mile trips to Florida one before and one after. After added 4 hours each way to my trip.

    12V off the shelf options?

There is a Miata battery that you might be able to make work, but would be a challenge. The Tesla one is easiest for sure. I have the Lithium one, if it wasn't for service center refusing to even hand tighten the terminals it would be problem free.

Any thoughts / experiences with generic / ebay 16a evse kits?

I have 2 lying around that were given to me by people that bought them and had them immediately fail. They are certainly low quality and light duty (think Walmart house brand drill. I'm going to guess if you de-rated them 30% or so they might last some time, but at 16 amps their life will be...

Master charger replacement in San Diego, CA

Here are the fuses I bought ( I changed both) Your 2013 should be Gen 1 like my 2012. A50P50-4 Fuse - Ferraz/Mersen,50A,A50P,Semiconductor,Fast Acting,500V,50 Amp | Allfuses.com I would SPECIFICALLY recommend AVOIDING the service center for this. They typically install remanufactured chargers...

Master charger replacement in San Diego, CA

Good chance it is just the fuse. There is a good youtube video on how to change it. That was problem with my car several months ago and I'm still charging problem free.

  29. A

Manual firmware update (for new charge port)

I changed a master (passengers side) charger. Tesla said it was bad and wanted nearly $4K so i put a used one ($200) in and am trying to get it working. Unfortunately I don't have root. I had a few guys from Comma.ai discord try and root last year and all failed.

Manual firmware update (for new charge port)

I'm trying and failing (repeatedly) to do a service redeploy on a 2012 P85 via the IC FAKRA connection. Best I understand I should telnet to 192.168.90.100 25956 with my Macintosh ip set to 192.168.90.101 which gives me a welcome to TESLA cid updater banner. sometimes "watch" shows a few things...

    Supercharger - Lafayette, LA

I happened across a Supercharger in Florida that didn’t show up on Tesla map, plug share or google maps but was full on busy. I will say that it only charged at 35KW peak for me and cut out repeatedly, but it was open and working. So just because it isn’t on a map doesn’t mean much of anything.
  33. A

    Supercharger - Lafayette, LA

I can check for you tomorrow afternoon, I saw a crew working after I took those pics. Your welcome to change at my house if you need.

    AC making thunking sound frequently.

My 2012 also does same when cycling due to low cooling / drying demand. It is super agrivating and I really feel like it could be improved dramatically with a PID tweak.

:( losing 25-30 miles while idled

I have NOT used the official app since I made the post here. I did get a longer sleep overnight, but also saw an idle longer than I’d like.
