2013 Model S won't boot up or drive after parked overnight

On another thread this has been discussed and debated extensively. There is a camp that believes model s batteries do not age much under calendar aging and age more instead due to cycling from charging. Either way you lean it’s definitely a debate. Also my car is 7 years old and is showing less...

2013 Model S won't boot up or drive after parked overnight

Wow this is truly a sad story for you. Imo Tesla should change their model S battery warranty to cap at mileage and not years. 48k miles is an unacceptable failure point for a battery. Would anyone accept an ice engine failure at 48k miles? This would be a good will gesture to replace batteries...

2013 Model S won't boot up or drive after parked overnight

So you are saying Tesla did a massive repair with a new battery and the car now doesn’t run again? I’ve had the exact opposite experiences with Tesla service. I’m confused to why you wouldn’t let wk057 fix the car for 1/3 of the price and you might have had confidence in their repair. Did you...

What should my ideal charge percentage be?

My question is this, doesn’t Tessie base their degradation calculation on the max charge of the battery? So if that is true, and if my car charges to 265 miles and 265 miles was the max charge when new where is the degradation? Do you think the bms calculation for max miles has changed since new...

What should my ideal charge percentage be?

So I have a few data points to share from an older Tesla. First of all calendar aging seems to be discounted by this theory. It basically says a well made Tesla battery before they started making the 3 and y battery’s will not be subject to calendar aging. Here is why, Tesla had their brand on...

    Regen braking stopped working [2021]

So as others have stated this is definitely a temperature issue. On the model S there will be 4 orange lines on the regen screen until the battery warms up.
  7. tesluv108

    Regen braking stopped working [2021]

I’d like to weigh in here. Rewind to 2017 I had a 2013 p85 rwd. The car regen was so brutal I had to toggle it from standard to low because at that time it would borderline throw your head from how hard it would brake. Now, fast forward to 2022- I have a p90d late 2015 build. I was/ have been...

What should my ideal charge percentage be?

Is there anyone here with a 90kwh battery that has had the Tessie app a while? I’m curious if you would post your battery degradation as measured by the Tessie app. I’ve only had the app a month and haven’t had enough charge cycles to really get a feel for the true degradation as I think the app...

Supercharger - West Chester Township, OH

I live in west Chester and this location has been finished without power for at least 5 weeks. I stopped by today and it still doesn’t have power.

    High Vampire Drain

Prob 1 or 2 max. Previous owner had it replaced but I don’t know if Tesla would tell me the date
  11. tesluv108

    High Vampire Drain

The car has the original mcu1 from 2015 Nov as far as i know. Also I think cabin overhead protection is still off. It’s been pretty cold in Ohio about 45 in garage.
  12. tesluv108

    High Vampire Drain

I have more data to add to this thread. I last charged nov 8 to 46%. I proceeded to not drive or get in the car since then as I went out of town. A bit disappointed in the vampire drain. The car has lost 15% in 10 days sitting idle and locked in the garage.

Is it possible to put wider tires on the back of a MS Plaid with Arachnid wheels (thinking 315 or 325 if it is safe). Anyone tried?

I’m thinking about 275 width on back tires, is this going to be a problem? I doubt it but wanted to be sure without adding the headache of spacers. Currently have factory 21s with 265 width on the rears

Supercharger - West Chester Township, OH

Funny but that picture is very old. There has been a connected transformer there for weeks.
  15. tesluv108

Supercharger - West Chester Township, OH

Fairly obvious to me at this point butler county is dragging their feet with the final inspection. This has been completed and ready for weeks now
  16. tesluv108

    Supercharger - Beavercreek, OH

It’s interesting to me and I’m sure Tesla would want west Chester running asap due to the area. There are absolutely no superchargers around and it’s a heavily traveled stretch of I75 and right off the exit. Beavercreek is probably the same as there are no chargers until Columbus.
  17. tesluv108

    Supercharger - Beavercreek, OH

The new trend in Tesla superchargers is let them sit finished for weeks/ months inoperable. So no I don’t think you should have hope for tomorrow as west Chester has been completed for weeks and isn’t turned on yet either

    FS Tesla Tequila

    Price?
  19. tesluv108

Supercharger - West Chester Township, OH

I got iced by a Honda ondessy owner that wants a Tesla. Regardless , I should have taken a picture to show you. The chargers still don’t work
  20. tesluv108

Supercharger - West Chester Township, OH

Was there again today 11/2, chargers are still not active
  21. tesluv108

Supercharger - West Chester Township, OH

I got excited because there are no barriers up, but the chargers do not work. ☹️

Did you ask them how close they are?

I can't reset the TPMS error message on my Model S

I’m wondering if you tried my method? Have someone sit in the car with the car and systems active while you put air in the tires. The sensors wouldn’t go off until I did this
  24. tesluv108

I can't reset the TPMS error message on my Model S

I should mention I was able to get them off. However I had to have wife sit in the car with the systems on so the Tpms would acknowledge that air was going in

Lol he’s very likely to respond
  26. tesluv108

    Pre-facelift 85D => 100D upgrade

Do you have the Tessie app? How do you know the battery nominal cap is 92 kwh? I was curious about degradation in your newly installed pack. The reason for my curiosity is Tessie is telling me my pack has zero degradation and has 81.9kwh cap. It almost seemed too good to be true to have zero...

What should my ideal charge percentage be?

Charged again today , Tessie is still saying no degradation which is weird. I need to ask them if they are basing the no degradation rating on rated range or actual health of battery
  28. tesluv108

Supercharger - West Chester Township, OH

Here now, it’s still not open but it looks extraordinary close.
  29. tesluv108

What should my ideal charge percentage be?

But why is it showing no degradation?. I’ll charge again and report back. Keep in mind the pack has .6400 miles
  30. tesluv108

What should my ideal charge percentage be?

Imo the 30-60% method is the best from everything I’ve read. Set your max charge to 60% and charge when it drops to 30%. Others have said keep it at 50% min but that’s your choice.
  31. tesluv108

What should my ideal charge percentage be?

Wondering if you are anyone else cares to comment on the Tessie app stating my battery health is 100%. This seems impossible to me since the car was built in 11/2015. Does anyone think this is just a measurement error by the Tessie app? 81.9 usable kwh doesn’t seem like zero degradation on a...
  32. tesluv108

What should my ideal charge percentage be?

I just measured mine with this app because I’m curious. I don’t think my reading is right so I’ll do it again. Anyways, background on my car it’s a bit of a unicorn because the former owner didn’t drive much and I think he never charged high (over 85%). Anyways it’s a late 2015 build with 6337...

I can't reset the TPMS error message on my Model S

So I just put air in my tires 2x. The sensors won’t acknowledge any type of additional air. they are still showing 36 psi per tire. have 21 factory rims and factory Tpms. I’m really wondering if something is wrong with the sensors. Because I took a long drive thinking the sensors would...

    High Vampire Drain

I also found if I leave my car in the garage unlocked it will crush the battery. As in I lost 20 miles in 3 nights. Lesson learned lock the car so it can sleep

    IRO DashCam - Model S AP2 unboxing

I have this Iro dashcam. I like it for the most part except I think it only records for a few minutes after turning the car off. Any way to fix this especially in a public parking lot?

Supercharger - West Chester Township, OH

Zzzzzzz still no supercharger, Tesla motto-over promise under deliver
  37. tesluv108

Supercharger - West Chester Township, OH

Has anyone been by today? I was there Monday and it was a ghost town. No workers on site by 5 pm. Wondering if we will get an opening this week
  38. tesluv108

2012 P85 HV battery replacement options -- need perspective.

Are you running an old software version? My speedometer hasn’t looked like that since I had a p85 in 2017. Now if I want to see the regen it must come from the energy graph on the left, not on the center speedometer which just shows speed
  39. tesluv108

    2013 Tesla model S P85 battery failed

What is the range of the new 90 battery at max charge ?
  40. tesluv108

Supercharger - West Chester Township, OH

Nice you must live close too. Cheers to finally having a supercharger on i75! It’s long overdue !
  41. tesluv108

    Supercharger - Beavercreek, OH

They literally broke ground on west Chester a few weeks ago and it’s almost done. They must have a plethora of Tesla’s in the areas and it’s a peak area of i75. Inexcusable delays on the Beavercreek site
  42. tesluv108

Supercharger - West Chester Township, OH

Nfw! This will be the quickest Tesla supercharger install I’ve ever seen in the history of mankind. I don’t even think Beavercreek is done yet and it’s been about 3 months of construction. These guys rock!
  43. tesluv108

Supercharger - West Chester Township, OH

Update- ground has been broken and they look to be making major progress at this location. Here are pictures taken today.

    Drive unit or battery problem?

At least you are under warranty. I have 21 months left so if it’s going to fail I hope it does then
  45. tesluv108

    Drive unit or battery problem?

I’ve heard that too, send a screenshot of the estimated wait time. Because they told me that and i drove in and it was done in less than 24 hours.
  46. tesluv108

    Drive unit or battery problem?

Man I find this amazing and somewhat hard to believe. 29k miles on a 2019 and hv battery failure? Not good
  47. tesluv108

Cabin heating to 89F while charging.

So this was in the garage at night at 10:43 pm. Out of the sun, so when people say it was exterior temperature I just don’t believe it. It was so hot in that car i was worried
  48. tesluv108

Cabin heating to 89F while charging.

I did the ass test. That’s ass in the seat and you start sweating your ass off. You can feel the heat. It’s just something you feel and I wish I had thermometer to measure it.
  49. tesluv108

Cabin heating to 89F while charging.

Umm what? The car was about 90 degrees inside. Maybe you don’t know what you are talking about ? This is my third Tesla and not one of them got hot while Home charging.
