Front hood "pops" open but still latched, cannot lift up

I had a similar issue with my July ‘22 build MSLR. A 2nd unlatch press while gently pulling up on the frunk hood allowed it to open. The service center took a look and said that the latch parts were “offset” so they moved the the top and/or bottom pieces to align them and it works fine now.

Where to get replacement tow eye cover

My tow eye cover is missing. Not sure how it came off, but it's definitely gone. My only way to contact Tesla Service is to use the Service module in the phone app, and request an appointment to bring the car into Tesla. I live closest to the Palo Alto, CA service center and they NEVER pick...

    Adaptive Ride Control Disabled

I had this error appear a few days after delivery. On the first trip to the service center, they replaced a wiring harness on the front right strut. The error came back later the same day I picked up the car. On the second visit, they said the connector came loose and reconnected it. A few...

Weird buzzing sound after updating to 2022.24.6 [Fixed in 2022.36.1]

My 2017 S75 had a high pitched whine from the front section as well but it was very feint and it never occurred to me to get it serviced- I assumed it was the coolant pump. My ‘22 MSLR has the high pitched whine but it is louder, although I wouldn’t say it’s too bothersome. It would be nice...

    Adaptive Ride Control Disabled

They found the connector to the wiring harness that has been replaced on the front right strut a few weeks ago wasn’t connected. They simply connected it securely this time, and it worked fine. I haven’t been able to verify, haven’t been in town to pick up my car yet.

My MSLR ‘22 went in again today for this. Has anyone had a successful repair completed for this issue?

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

Ok, I poked around and found the seams between the bottom and top pieces. Mine are relatively tight but I can see how those will separate over time. Maybe they should be taped for a short term fix, but Tesla’s going to need to develop a better solution. What a crappy design like it was an...

2022 Model S Sound System Quality

At first I didn’t think the audio quality was so good, but after a couple weeks it started to sound very good to me. I’m wondering if there is a break-in time for the speakers.

They put 4 strips of some kind of fabric tape on the underside of the housing that is behind the display. Looks cheap and temporary but it is doing the job of stopping the rattles for now.

    Adaptive Ride Control Disabled

I had mine serviced 2 weeks ago. On the way home from the dealer, the error came back. It goes back to service in the 23rd. They found a faulty connection and replaced a wiring harness to the right front strut. I suspect it’s the ECU- there is data from any of the four struts, looks...

anyone try the new pirelli ev tires?

My new '22 MSLR was shipped with the PZero summer performance tires from the factory. They have the "elect" and "pncs" logos on them. They fronts are 255/45 R19 104y (and the rears are 285/40s) On my prior 2017 MS75, I had the factory goodyear eagles, which handled well, but were very...

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

After seeing the state of the delivery center area at the factory in Fremont when I went to pick up my car at the end of July, I got the impression that Tesla is really struggling to keep up with incredible demand for it's cars. The sheer number of cars being staged for pick up and transport...

    Refresh S Stereo

I noticed the same front and also left bias, and have the fader target moved rear/right. I agree the low level listening needs loudness. My equalizer takes treble frequencies down, it was drowning out mids and bass. These adjustments help, but I don’t find the overall presence and sound stage...

Adaptive Suspension Damping… Real or Ruse? Which one do you have? Find out fast!

I wish I could provide the measurements but my MSLR that was delivered on July 31 this year has a broken adaptive ride system. A few days after delivery I got an error message saying “adaptive ride control disabled, drive with caution” and all the sensors are reading zero for all 4 struts.

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

Ok, cool, thanks. That explains it. (Of course I didn't even know they included the mobile charger because my frunk didn't open... took me a few days to figure out I could open it by pulling up on the hood while the latch was popped to clear the second latch that was caught)

    Wiki Model S Delivery Update

My MSLR that was delivered 10 days ago came with a mobile charger and also with a 128GB Tesla USB stick inserted into the globe box USB port. I thought that Tesla no longer included the mobile charger with the model S (?), and I have no idea whether they include a USB stick with new cars...

    Adaptive Ride Control Disabled

Mee too! Took delivery of a new Model S LR just 8 days ago, and this issue came up today. My MS LR was ready later than planned yesterday. Tesla changed the time five times in the prior 36 hours, including the last time when I was already half way to the delivery center in an uber. I got my VIN on Monday for a MS LR. My EDD is 7/20-7/29. I’m excited to take delivery. I live 15 miles from the Fremont factory. Is there a typical number of days to build and deliver from the date the VIN is assigned or is the timing unpredictable?

    Replica wheels for '21-'22 refresh?

I ran across these rims. I am taking deliver in 2 weeks on a Model S 2022 LR. I really like the look of the Tesla provided arachnid 21" rims, but I didn't want low profile rims/tires for practicality reasons. I reluctantly ordered the 19" tempest wheels. These Replika's look like a good...

    T-Sportline TSS wheels for 2022 Model S

Thanks, the 19" are lighter for sure. T-Sportline claims their 19" TSS tires can accommodate the original OEM tires which are 255s on the front and 285s on teh back, and the were originally meant for 9.5" rims on the front and 10.5" rims on the back, but the T-Sportline TSS rims are 9.5"...

    T-Sportline TSS wheels for 2022 Model S

Thanks, I am leaning towards the T-Sportline TSS wheels which are 10x20 inch. Those seem like the "just right" option. It appears the 10x20s are close enough to the original wheel and tire dimensions and allow a square set-up for rotation. But I am a newbie on modified offsets, diameters...

    T-Sportline TSS wheels for 2022 Model S

Thanks. I’m still not sure about changing from a staggered set up (9.5 and 10.5) to a square set-up from a driving and appearance standpoint. Also also it seems in the 19 inch option that the rear original tires wont fit the new wheels properly! T-sportline seems to suggesting that it’s ok...

    T-Sportline TSS wheels for 2022 Model S

As much as I like the looks of the Arachnid 21" wheels, I've had staggered low profile sport wheels/tires on other cars in the past and regretted it due to rim damage on potholes, curb rash, uneven tire wear (esp on the rear tires.) So, I ordered the '19 Tempest wheels for my 2022 LR (not...

2022 model S shift control tied to MCU?

2022 model S shift control tied to MCU?

One issue I have with my ‘17 S75 is the way that safety systems and controls are dependent on the MCU. When my MCU crashes, I don’t get cameras, directionals, shift indicator, lane departure warnings, collision warnings, speed indicator etc…. Which are all items that matter for safe driving...

best tire, quiet tire, comfy tire. Continental, goodyear, bridgsetone, michelin

I couldn't find the older version of the P7's on TireRack's website. The newer model (P7 II) is rated very high for wet driving (9.2) but I see on consumer reports that the prior version (the non-IIs) is rated average for wet drivign. We get rain in North California, at least we used to, so...

    Uncorking for RWD 75 (Non-D)

    Uncorking for RWD 75 (Non-D)

I haven't run multiple 0-60 times to confirm if this is accurate, my understanding is that the powertools app, because of it's low sampling rate, is only accurate +/- 0.2 seconds. The max current draw peaked at 281 and flat lined from there, so that would indicate it did not reach the same...

Here is the response I got from the service center this week. I believe the service center did everything they could but overall this is not good news. If I'd known I was being sold a non-upgrade-able drive unit and battery, and that by waiting 10 days I'd have had upgrade capability, I...
